The Olive Tree Initiative and Mazin Qumsiyeh

Mazin Qumsiyeh

Mazin Qumsiyeh is a Palestinian professor of genetics who has taught at Yale University. He is also a participant in the Olive Tree Initiative of UC-Irvine. In short, he is one of the figures on the itinerary of OCI students who have traveled to the Holy Land during the past three years. The below links have background information about Mr Qumsiyeh

First is an interview he gave to Electric Intifada in May 2009.

Here is an article on Mazin Qumsiyeh by CAMERA:

Below is an article on Qumsiyeh by the Anti-Defamation League, which describes his involvement in boycots and divestment movements against Israel:

Below is the entry for Mazin Qumsiyeh in Discover the Networks:

(Anti-Semitic? You be the judge.)

Let me finish with Qumsiyeh's own web site. Pay particular attention to a linked article on Jews by Paul Eisen. It discusses not only Jews, but their "influence" in America and other related issues such as Holocaust revisionism.

He makes a number of points I could take issue with. He makes a number of points that need to be considered. He is a partisan for a cause, and as such, highlights aspects most favorable to his argument.

Your propensity for undermining the Palestinian cause by highlighting individuals and offering ad hominem denunciations is not particularly convincing.

Yes! I am guilty. My problem is that I just keep finding more of these characters to write about. Seems sometimes like they are everywhere.

I must be losing my mind.

Correction and addition:

The real cause of Mazin Qumsiyeh is to see Israel destroyed and for this he is using a newly minted cause, the Arabs now called Palestinians. Most Arabs who came to the area discovered Palestine in the 1920's. He cares less about his 'people' the so called Palestinians. There is no such a thing as 'Palestinian people-hood even as we speak, they are Arabs. And Palestine was ever a sovereign state? Certainly not.

Siarlys Jenkins like many sadly fall for that false and hateful Mazin ET AL's narrative created with one goal in mind to destroy Israel as a Jewish State.

Anonymous,

I don't think Matan is "hateful". He is a young student who is trying to reach out and create a dialogue with the Muslim students.

Mazin Qumsiyeh: Civil resistance against occupation and apartheid

Is this a man of peace? And why should impressionable minds hear this Hamasnik, Mazin Qumsiyeh, speak or even ask him question. For too long he spews, lies, and hatred against the Jewish state. Shame on him.

Qumsiyeh should move to live in the 22 racists, corrupt and barbaric backward, Arab countries; he might feel better there as he originated there.

No wonder why they refused Mazin Qumsiyeh tenure

In my haste I missed posting the link to the above recent video by Mazin Qumsiyeh on Dec. 6, 2010

So here it is:

http://palestinevideo.blogspot.com/2010/12/mazin-qumsiyeh-civil-resistance-against.html

It is so obvious to see his manufactured evidence/maps, hatred and lies. And he is spewing his poison from Birzit Universtiy which Israel built.

And the Olive Tree Initiative uses this sick mind, Mazin Qumsiyeh, as a speaker? Shame on the OTI
