Below is a video showing two young Moroccan-Dutch men in The Netherlands being asked about their opinion of Jews.
It is truly frightening what is happening in The Netherlands, a country with a centuries-long tradition of tolerance. Now they are tolerating the intolerable. First Theo Van Gogh (murdered in 2004). Now Geert Wilders is on trial for "defamation". What has happened to this country? Will they go back to the days during World War 2 when most of their Jewish citizens were dragged off by the Germans to concentration camps where they were killed? Of course, there aren't that many Jews left in Holland now for obvious reasons. Once Amsterdam was a great center of Jewish life, many immigrating there from other countries where they had been persecuted.
What is clear is that Holland has a duty to protect what Jews still reside there. I think the Dutch people understand, but I do not understand the attitudes of the political leaders. Are they really going to put Wilders in prison for what he has said while tolerating what we see in the video and allowing it to fester?
Could it really happen that a nation with such a long history of tolerance has perverted it to the point they could go back to some form of the Dark Ages?
