Germany: Police Searching for Man for Setting His Wife on Fire

Police in the east German town of Gera are searching for a 46-year-old Georgian man who allegedly poured a gasoline-like liquid on his wife and set her on fire as they were riding on a tram. The man fled the scene, and the wife was flown to a hospital by rescue helicopter in critical condition.

Gera (Thuringen)- The police are conducting a large-scale search for a Georgian (46) in Thuringia. The man allegedly squirted a gasoline-like liquid on his 46-year-old wife on a tram in Gera (93,600 residents) and set her on fire. He is on the run.

Tengizi Kakiashvili is about 180 centimeters tall, of Georgian origin, and dressed in a black work jacket with blue lettering. At the time of the crime, he was also wearing a black cap.

Furthermore, Mr Kakiashvili and the victim are in a relationship with each other. He is her husband.

Wanted man considered dangerous

"At this time, it cannot be ruled out that the wanted man poses a danger to the public," the police say.

Should people come across the wanted man, they should immediately call the police. The police warn,  "Please do not put  yourself in danger."

Attack was "a crime of attempted murder"

The crime took place around 10 am on line 3, (and) the tram was traveling to the most heavily-inhabited city quarter of Lusan. There is a large prefabricated residential settlement here.

When the emergency stop was activated and the doors of the tram opened, the attacker was able to flee. The police are investigating a "crime of attempted murder".

The family lived in the eastern quarter

According to Bild's information, both the victim and perpetrator are Georgians. Both reportedly boarded the tram together. The police would not confirm Bild's information, but they searched the residence of both (victim and perpetrator) in the eastern quarter of Gera.

As Bild learned, a scent sample was taken here, so that the search dog could trace the man's flight route.

The victim of the fire was flown to a special clinic in a rescue helicopter.

Tram driver extinguished the (fire)

With presence of mind, the tram driver grabbed a fire extinguisher at the Gruner Weg stop and put out the fire (on the 46-year-old).

The critically injured Georgian woman was treated medically at the scene and flown to a hospital in a rescue helicopter.

Investigation of crime of attempted murder

"We are investigating a crime of attempted murder. Whether the flammable liquid was gasoline is still under investigation," said police spokeswoman Katja Ridder.

Bottle on tram seized

On the tram-in the doorway- the perpetrator allegedly left a crushed 1.5-liter bottle. According to the label, the actual content was orange-colored ACE- multi-fruit juice, but in the bottle was found a cloudy yellow liquid-similar to gasoline.

Passengers cared for by religious clerics

There were reportedly about 10 passengers on the tram; they had to witness the terrible act. The people were cared for by experts at the scene. According to police, none of them were injured. They are now considered important witnesses.

France: Moroccan Attacks Police With Knife (Allahu Akhbar)

The French blog, Francois deSouche, is reporting a knife attack in front of a police station in Cannes by a Moroccan national who was under a deportation order. The suspect, only identified as Youssef M., reportedly was yelling, "Allahu Akhbar" during the attack and again once in a cell. According to police, the suspect tried to stab a group of officers in front of the building but was overpowered without any injuries to the officers. According to the headline in the below-linked article in Le Parisien, the attack took place today, March 15, 2025.

The individual, armed with a knife, attacked the National Police officers stationed in front of the police station of the Maritime Alps city. The police then used a taser to overcome and arrest him. No officer was injured in the attack.

According to our information, the man, of Moroccan nationality, had been arrested early this week after having broken the rearview mirror of a municipal police car. He had been released and later summoned.

The man cried, "Allahu Akhbar" at the time of the incident and continued to pronounce these words in a loud voice in the cell, the source close to the case continued. No injuries to report in this matter. The prefect of the Maritime Alps is on his way to the scene.

A knife attack targeting police officers took place at the same place as in November 2021. The attacker, an Algerian, Lakhdar B. (40), was neutralized by law enforcement gunfire. Terrorism was ruled out in this case. The courts still have to decide on the criminal liability, if any, of the suspect in regard to his mental health. The decision should be rendered March 27.

Spain: Town Hit with Riots After Imam Evicted

For two consecutive nights this week, the municipality of Salt (Girona) was hit with disturbances after a local imam and his family were evicted from their residence for non-payment of rent.

Last night, Catalan police arrested 6 persons in Salt (Girona) after altercations occurred in this municipality during the course of a protest against the eviction of an imam and his family, in which an officer was slightly injured and a neighbor was hit by a rock.

The protest in front of the Salt City Hall, attended by about 100 people, led to incidents of throwing objects like rocks and cans against the police line and police vehicles, according to what police sources of told EFE (news agency). 

The root of these incidents was (was when) police arrested 6 persons accused of crimes of public disorder and attacks against a police officer.

In addition, an officer of the Catalan police was slightly injured after which, a protester threw a rock against the car in which he was seated which caused a smashed window that injured the officer. 

The (protest) last night was the second consecutive protest in Salt over the eviction of the imam and his family. The first protest occurred without notable incidents, and the police made no arrests.

The origin of the protest began last Friday when, according to police sources, the eviction of the imam and his family from the home they had occupied for the past 5 years was carried out.

The property (owner), a large landholder, installed an alarm and video surveillance cameras last Monday that alerted that this person, accompanied by two others, had broken the police seal and had again accessed the residence.

In this situation, the Catalan Police carried out another eviction that caused the first incidents in the form of protests.

The most serious altercations happened last night with the second crowd of some 100 persons and clashes with police.

Municipal sources said that they had intended to offer the evicted family an alternative residence, but  they did not meet the requirements to access the local housing pool.

Nevertheless, the situation of the family is complicated since there are many difficulties in accessing free market housing. 

The city council, local police, and Catalan police are in conversations with the imam's community as well as other groups in Salt to mediate the conflict.

The daughter of the evicted imam, Henda Diawara, claimed that her father "has nothing to do " with the disturbances. "We didn't want them to do it, and if they did it, it is because they wanted to and did not involve my father. My father, in fact, tried to stop it. My father has nothing to do with this."

The mayor of Salt (Girona), Jordi Viñas, has disassociated the acts of vandalism recorded in the municipality with the eviction of the imam, an action he denies was the result of the process of radicalization. These acts "cannot happen in Salt or any other place."

 Viñas has reviewed the disturbances, in which street furniture. windows of police cars, three parking meters, surveillance cameras, and a dozen trash dumpsters were destroyed, for which 6 persons were arrested Tuesday by police.

For its part the Union of the Autonomous Police of Catalunia (USPAC) issued a statement Wednesday in which it has called tonight's protests as a "prelude" to rising tensions in Salt. "The audacity of planting yourselves in front of a police station to heckle police. throwing rocks and eggs, causing large disturbances, damage to street furniture and burning dumpsters leaves us with images more suitable to a third world country than a democratic society," the text adds. 

The union reiterates that "what happened last night is only the tip of the iceberg," and criticizes both politicians and police commanders while thanking the work of the officers who work on the streets.

A new case of serial abuse has shocked Vienna: The State Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating alleged sexual crimes and other serious accusations against a group of youths ages 14 to 17. According to information to Krone, the victim is a 29-year-old teacher.

Specifically, proceedings are being conducted against 7 young men in all for suspicion of rape, extortion, and arson. Five of them, all minors, are in investigative custody, a spokeswoman for the State Prosecutor's office officially confirmed on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the first details from the court file are leaking out. The victim is a 29-year-old Viennese woman, as Krone learned. Some of the suspects have Iraqi, Romanian, Afghan (2), and Austrian (2) nationality. 

Lost child

As has also been confirmed: The Viennese woman reportedly began an "intimate relationship" about a year ago with the eldest of the accused. Apparently, she then became pregnant by the 17-year-old and was pressured by him to have an abortion-the young teacher subsequently lost her baby, according to court sources.

Victim was extorted

Previously, recordings were reportedly made of sexual encounters, and the woman was subsequently blackmailed. She reportedly had to procure and take drugs, as well as pay money. The victim feared termination from her school. 

Ultimately, she was reportedly raped by three young men for "several hours" on two separate days. Her apartment was also set on fire, according to court files. Out of shame and fear, the victim of abuse remained silent for almost a year- only after an act of desperation, did everything come out. 

Suspects refused to make statements

The accused, at least the 17-year-old, a former student in the alleged victim's Vienna school, for the most part, exercised their right to remain silent. One only admitted the drug dealing but denied any other guilt.

Another confessed to having photographed the victim's bank withdrawal card-the sexual intercourse was "voluntary".

Similar abuse cases

The gruesome act brings to mind other serious abuse cases. The Anna case sparked outrage in all of Austria. The girl was abused over several months by youths in Vienna-Favoriten. In another case, two schoolgirls in Salzburg, ages 15 and 16, were sexually abused by a group of youths.

Sweden: Foxtrot Network Hit With US Sanctions and Frozen Assets

We have written often about the Foxtrot Network, a mostly Sweden-based criminal gang consisting of members from mostly-Muslim countries, most recently in connection with recent attacks on Israeli missions in Stockholm and Copenhagen. In a very positive development, the Trump administration has imposed sanctions on the gang.

USA imposes sanctions against Foxtrot Network and Rawa Majid

On Wednesday, the USA announced it was imposing sanctions against the criminal Foxtrot Network and Rawa Majid, who is identified as its leader.

The decision mentions, among other things, an attack against Israel's embassy in Stockholm.

On Wednesday, the US Treasury Department's Office of Federal Assets Control (OFAC) announced that sanctions would be imposed on the fugitive Rawa Majid and the Foxtrot Network.

The sanctions order, according to the American authority, is based on, among other things, an attack against Israel's embassy in Stockholm in January 2024. According to the decision, the network reportedly planned and orchestrated an attack against the embassy on behalf of Iran's government. 

In the decision, OFAC writes that Rawa Majid personally worked together with Iran's security service, which SVT reported earlier.

"The Treasury Department and the USA government, together with international partners, will continue to hold those responsible who enable Iran's thuggish and destabilizing agenda," writes US Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, in a statement.

US Secretary of State comments on sanctions

In connection with the order, there is also a statement from the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, where he describes the Foxtrot Network as a notorious criminal gang with its base in Sweden and a prominent actor in the region's drug trade.

The group is involved in weapons smuggling and a is a contributor to the rising crime in northern Europe, where they are behind shootings, contract murders, and attacks," writes Rubio, who also points out contacts with Iran and its security service.

The sanctions mean that all property and all interests in property in the US, which belong to the sanctioned (persons/organization) will be frozen. That also applies to property under the control of persons in the US. In today's sanctions, there are also travel restrictions for those covered by them.

Strömmer sees the decision positively

After the decision, Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer (Moderate party) commented on the US decision.

"From the Swedish side, we see the step taken by the USA positively, which means influential actors in the network can be disrupted and prevented from carrying out their criminal activity. UCLA Chancellor's Announcement re: Anti-Semitism

UCLA Chancellor, Julio Frenk, who recently replaced Gene Block, has sent a campus-wide email to the student body announcing how he plans to confront and eliminate anti-Semitism on his campus. It mostly consists of educating students about anti-Semitism and forming a task force to make recommendations.

Nice words, but it sounds like the same old same old. Frenk should be an improvement over Gene Block, who in my view, did very little to protect Jewish students. Over the years, he presided over a dramatic increase in campus anti-Semitism. 

What UCLA needs to do is what all universities need to do; remove the instigators, ban SJP and JVP permanently, and let every student know that if they disrupt the operation of the university, harass Jewish students, occupy buildings, and break things, they will be arrested, prosecuted and expelled. If they are foreign students, their I-20 will be lifted and ICE can deport them. Educating students about anti-Semitism is fine, but it's not going to work with the pro-Hamas crowd.

If you really want to make the campus safe for Jews, remove the ones who are making it unsafe for Jews. It should be simple.

Tears for Mahmoud Khalil at Columbia University

The little rascals at Columbia University are all in a tither over the ICE detention of Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian-Syrian, who has been leading the protests on campus. There is apparent confusion over his status in the US. He apparently was on a student visa, but also has a green card, and apparently has now graduated from Columbia or is a graduate student. If he is engaged in disrupting the campus and creating an unsafe environment for students, particularly Jewish students, it seems reasonable to me that the government can cancel either his student visa or his green card or both.

Predictably, the campus newspaper, The Daily Spectator, is full of articles defending the protesters and condemning the government (Trump administration) for cracking down.

A New York City federal judge has ordered ICE not to proceed with deportation until he/she can figure out how to detail the whole thing. Meanwhile, Khalil has been transported to an ICE facility in Louisiana. Then there is NY Attorney General Leticia James, who has expressed her "concern". You remember her, of course. She is a hardliner when it comes to Trump, but with foreigners disrupting our campuses, she takes a softer tone.

Meanwhile, the little rascals took to Foley Square in New York on Monday to demand Khalil's release. Here is how the Daily Spectator dutifully reported the protests.

My opinion? Throw him out.

What to Do About Columbia?

Columbia University, like many others, exploded into the American headlines in the months following the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack in Israel. But for those of us who follow campus anti-Semitism, it is not so shocking. nor is it new. During the past couple of decades, Columbia has been one of the worst campuses for Jewish students. To be sure, there are many more universities across the nation that have covered themselves in shame for allowing pro-Palestinian rowdies to intimidate Jewish students and disrupt their events with seeming impunity. But if there was any doubt about which university was the worst, Columbia has erased all doubt in the past months, weeks, and even days.

But now comes President Donald Trump into the picture, and as they say in Western movies, there is a new sheriff in town. Instead of the bumbling and uncaring Joe Biden, we have a president who not only stands squarely on the side of Israel but one who cares about the anti-Semitic problem in America, including on our campuses. His Department of Justice under Attorney General Pam Bondi and newly-appointed assistant in charge of the DOJ task force on anti-Semitism, Leo Terrell, is taking solid steps to confront the issue of campus anti-Semitism. 

And they are giving special attention to Columbia, which, along with its sister campus, Barnard College, is boiling over again as I write. The administration has announced that $400 million in federal grants to Columbia (a private university)  has been canceled. This is precisely what the doctor ordered, and I hope that the money will not be restored no matter what Columbia promises to do to reform their institution.  Columbia should take action to reform itself to prevent further cuts.

In addition, the Department of Homeland Security has taken a Palestinian student who has been leading the actions at Columbia into custody. His student visa has been canceled by the State Department, and hopefully, he will be sent packing quickly. 

Columbia, if it wants to reform itself, must rid its campus of Hamas supporters-and that is exactly what they are. That means that cosmetic and temporary suspensions of student groups like Students for Justice in Palestine, Jewish Voice for Peace, and Columbia University Apartheid Divest are not enough. They must be permanently banned from campus. Offending students who use the campus to support Hamas (a US-designated terrorist organization)  should be expelled. Those who intimidate and harass Jewish students, or disrupt their events, must also be expelled. If they are foreign students on student visas, they must be expelled and the government must follow up with quick deportation once they are no longer on student visa status. In addition, radical professors like Rashid Khalidi and Joseph Massad, who, in my opinion, have contributed to the anti-Semitic atmosphere at Columbia, should have no place at Columbia or any other university.

But we should not delude ourselves into thinking that all of these offending students (or professors) are foreigners. Many, if not most, are American citizens. In other cases, the university must apply strict rules of conduct, expel offending students who break the law, and refer their crimes to law enforcement for prosecution.

In addition, we must remember that what will really get the attention of the universities is to cut off their money. Even private universities are awash in federal grants, gifts from questionable countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and China, as well as large donations from wealthy donors. It is time for this to dry up. 

That leads to my final point: What if, say, for example, all this happens to Columbia, a prestigious Ivy League school? What if the university actually went bankrupt and was forced to close its doors forever? I'm not suggesting that's going to happen, but if it did, would this be a tragedy for higher education in our country? Surely, the academics would cry and moan, but I would not.

Because of what is going on at Columbia and so many other universities is not higher education. It is higher indoctrination, and parents don't need to be paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to send their kids to be indoctrinated and taught that America Israel, and the West are evil entities. More important, however, is the fact that universities are the breeding grounds for anti-Semitism, a virulent form not seen since Hitlerian Germany. Up to now, universities have allowed it to grow and fester. They have given nothing but lip service and cosmetic suspensions in response to the issue. Not just Columbia, but too many others to list here. 

So what if the most problematic schools collapse? It will send a message to all of academia that enough is enough. Yes, there is such a thing as free speech, but the federal government is not obligated to give you money. Donors can decide to give their money to other entities. Students can choose other schools. Qualified professors, especially those in the hard sciences, can find other places to teach. 

The fact is that we won't miss universities like Columbia if they go broke and close their doors forever. The fact is that many Americans are already questioning the value of a college degree, especially if it is in certain social sciences like LGBTQ studies, gay and gender studies, and other ridiculous majors. Many people are taking a second look at trade schools that can prepare young people for a profitable profession. Universities in the South, with a few exceptions, have far fewer problems than the Ivy League schools, the University of California, Rutgers, the University of Michigan, and many others. 

Finally, I don't want my ideas to be compared to the change that Hitler brought to German universities immediately upon coming to power. In that case, Jewish students and professors were removed from the universities simply because they were Jews, not because they were causing problems. In that case, only one political thought was permitted in the universities-that of the Nazi party and its agenda. I am not calling for that. The change I am talking about is in response to unruly and violent behavior and harassment of Jewish students. Keep in mind that Jewish students in Germany were not engaged in disruptive and violent behavior. Jewish professors were not engaged in subversive activity or teaching subversion in and/or out of the classroom. So to compare what I am saying to Nazi Germany would not hold water. I am not calling for the removal of all students or professors who belong to a particular, ethnic or religious class. Nor am I calling for the new administration to simply shut down Columbia and other schools by executive order. 

This is not a matter of what people believe. It is not a matter of whether you support Israel or the Palestinians. You don't get to break things, disrupt events, harass Jewish students, or shut down the university. As to the latter, for decades we have heard radical students yelling, "Shut it down!" They may get their wish but not in the way they envisioned. They want universities that don't go along with their radical agendas to be shut down. There are other ways to shut down universities that allow their hateful and violent behavior. Not by governmental fiat. You simply don't have to give them the money and let the free market system work its magic. That's the only way universities are going to get the message that reform is needed and demanded.

Germany: Afghan Arrested for Murder and............

Here's another Afghan success story, this time from Germany. Habib Rahman A., 24-year-old Afghan asylum-seeker, was arrested in the town of Aue (Saxony) near Chemnitz (formerly Karl Marx Stadt in the former East Germany). He is charged with the stabbing death of his Afghan roommate, Youssef N. (27). When police entered their shared apartment, they discovered the victim's body. He had been stabbed 19 times. In addition, the body, which was nude and in a state of decomposition, had been subjected repeatedly to post-mortem anal intercourse. The suspect has confessed to killing his roommate and having sex with the corpse.

"They've never seen anything like it."

The murder apparently occurred in September 2024, but the below article does not mention when the arrest took place.

"Insulting mischief on the body of the dead person," accuses the indictment against the rejected but Tolerated (deprived) Afghan asylum-seeker, Habib Rahman A. (24) in a manslaughter trial in the Chemnitz State Court. What sounds like a morbid prank is in truth, the height of perversion.

A. reportedly not only killed his roommate, 27-year-old fellow countryman, Youssef N. He is also accused of the rape of the decomposing corpse.

19 stab wounds before sex with the corpse

According to the indictment, the incident took place at an unknown point in time between September 8-12, 2024 in the shared apartment of the compatriots on Wettiner Street in Aue (Saxony). A. first stabbed N. with a knife with a 14.5 centimeter blade and a Phillips screwdriver. The killer allegedly used the tools of the crime against the throat of his victim. The 27-year-old N. bled to death, according to the state prosecutor, Stephen Butzkies, because the "carotid arteries were severed".

What then followed, the indictment describes as follows: "After the death of the victim, the accused undressed the lower body of the corpse and repeatedly performed anal intercourse on the body, which remained in the room and was increasingly exposed to decomposition."

The patrol officer who arrested A. was presented with a bizarre sight: The body of the victim had been literally laid out. N. was naked. Lying on his belly, a pillow was draped under his hips so that the buttocks were raised. The worst of it: The police officer was not totally surprised: "A. was a time bomb. We were dealing with him almost daily in Aue for three weeks. He was always harassing women. It didn't matter the age: from 10 to 70."

In the meantime, A. had even been taken to a psychiatric facility. However, he was released again. "They said he was not mentally ill, rather he just had an increased sex drive," the police officer explained shaking his head.

UC Santa Cruz and the Disgraceful Op-ed of its Campus Newspaper

On January 10, 2025, City on a Hill Press, the campus newspaper of the University of California at Santa Cruz, published the most disgusting article I have ever read in a campus newspaper, and I've read more than my share. (The article only now has come to my attention from reading the online edition of the paper.) The article in question appears to excuse, if not glorify, the murder of Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Health Care in New York City on December 4, 2024. The alleged assassin, Luigi Mangione, has yet to go to trial, but immediately after the murder, voices in different parts of the country actually celebrated the killing.

Whatever one thinks of insurance companies, or United Health Care, in particular, to defend the murder of a man who was shot in the back on a sidewalk simply for being the CEO of an insurance company, is ugly and disgusting. Even more, it illustrates the alarming level to which our universities have sunk. Years ago, I christened UC Santa Cruz as "America's Wackiest University" for a myriad of reasons. That label seems trivial now in light of this op-ed. This is the kind of writing that brings back memories of Italy's Red Brigades or Germany's Red Army Faction in defending their assassinations of innocent people.

The language is, of course, "revolutionary" in its jargon. At the very least, it implies that this country is in need of a violent revolution. Note that Thompson, the victim, is referred to as a "dastardly individual" and a "villain". I would bet the farm that the writers of this article have no personal knowledge of Thompson's private life or personal characteristics, nor do I. To them, he is a villain simply because he was an insurance company CEO. This is the language of Jacobins and others who sent people to their deaths just because they belonged to a particular social, economic, or professional class.

But should this be so surprising? Far too many of our universities, and UCSC is one of them, are in the business not of educating our youth, but rather indoctrinating them. Far too many professors are teaching their classes that America is such an evil country that only a violent revolution will cure its ills. They may parse their words or imply the message they want to get across. Others are not so coy, secure in the knowledge that their words will be protected under the cover of academic freedom. Look how professors get away with anti-Semitic speech on our campuses today. (This week, it was announced that the Department of Justice has opened an investigation into anti-Semitism in the entire University of California system.)

As I noted above, campus newspapers are almost always left-wing in their bent, which is their right, but it is rare that they will feature conservative voices. There are some that are worse than others. The Daily Californian (UC Berkeley), for example, has often featured regular op-eds by student journalists on its staff describing their sexual experiences in vivid detail. But this op-ed, which excuses the cold-blooded, premeditated murder of Brian Thompson, for no other reason than he was part of a class of people despised by the op-ed writers, is absolutely the worst I have ever read.  Our universities are in serious need of reform, not to bring about conservative uniformity in place of liberal uniformity, but rather to bring about a return to common decency. As always, I have no wish to cause harm to student journalists who hopefully, will rethink their attitudes a few years down the road when they are older and more mature. The real blame goes to the professors and radicals in our universities who have led them astray. 

Trump Administration Cuts $400 Million in Federal Grants to Columbia

This has been a long time coming, and in my view, this is a great day. The Trump administration has announced that $400 million dollars in federal grants has been stripped from Columbia University for its inability or unwillingness to protect Jewish students on campus. Jihad Watch has the story here.

Meanwhile, the Columbia campus newspaper, Columbia Spectator, also has a report here. It is also being reported that Columbia has suspended 4 students for their roles in the occupation of Barnard College's library this week.

Note that Democrats like Jerry Nadler (D-NY) are decrying the move. Contrary to what Nadler and others may charge, this is not a move to advance the MAGA agenda. It is a move to force universities to start getting serious about protecting their Jewish students.

This may go down as one of Trump's major accomplishments. The only real way to force universities to stop this wave of anti-Semitic disorder on their campuses is to hit them in the pocketbooks. I have a feeling that along with Border Czar Tom Homan, Leo Terrell, who is heading DOJ's task force combatting anti-Semitism, is going to be one of the shining stars of this administration. This same move should be applied to many other universities.

Spanish and Italian Police Take Down Pakistani Terror Cell

Spanish police in Barcelona have arrested 10 Pakistani nationals for operating on encrypted web channels promoting terrorism and calling for the beheading of those who defame Islam and its prophet. In coordination with this action, Italian police in Piacenza arrested a Pakistani national, formerly a resident of Barcelona. The joint operation took place on March 3.

In a joint operation that has resulted in 10 arrests in Barcelona and 1 in Piacenza, officers of the Spanish and Italian police have dismantled a jihadist terror organization that was promoting the commission of violent actions and had selected possible targets 

The operation was directed by the judge of the National Court, Antonio Piña, who ordered provisional imprisonment for four of the arrested while the rest were released, three of them with the order to present themselves weekly before the judicial authority. In addition, their passports have been taken away, and they are prohibited from leaving Spanish territory, according to judicial sources.

This is the third phase of an operation, in which, in the last three years, 30 other people have been arrested who belonged to a radical Pakistani organization, according to the National Police.

The Pakistani arrested in Italy was already under surveillance by the National Police since 2021. 

The two police entities have been collaborating for years in close contact, and in 2022, in Operation Gabar, 14 Pakistani citizens were placed in preventive custody in jail (one of which was captured in Spain and all now convicted in Italy, some with finalized sentences) seriously suspected of participation and association dedicated to international terrorism. This group has been found to be connected to the Charlie Hebdo attackers, and the Pakistani arrested in Piacenza was in contact with them.
