The kind folks at 1New Heart in Jerusalem have sent an update on the bombing in Jerusalem. The female victim was a Scottish Christian missionary.

Hank and I would like to thank each of you who responded to us with words of encouragement and your prayer support concerning yesterday's bombing. It always blesses us tremendously to know, with certainty, that we have the prayer backing of each of you back home!
I just received an email from a friend of mine who was informed of the identity of the woman who died in the attack. Here is her email:
"The woman who was killed in yesterday's bus bombing was Mary Gardner from the Home for Bible Translators. Mary was from Scotland who spent the past 20 years working alone with a tribe in Togo translating the bible into their language. She so enjoyed being in Israel and relished the company of the other students from all over the world. She was, in fact, on her way to spend the evening with a friend who eventually called mutual friends to let them know Mary never arrived. Please keep the HBT students in your prayers."
Though we did not know Mary, there is assurance to know that a sister in Christ is in Heaven, receiving her reward!

Article in LA Jewish Journal Regarding Olive Tree Initiative
The below article was written by Lisa Armony in the LA Jewish Journal. It concerns a meeting held last night in Irvine by the Orange County chapter of the Zionist Organization of America. The meeting concerned the Olive Tree Initiative at UC-Irvine and the efforts of ZOA to find a venue to hold that meeting. What Should Be Our Message?
In the wake of the Yorba Linda protest in February and the on-going blow back, I feel it is appropriate to form some sort of idea of what our message regarding radical Islamists in our country should be. I had the privilege of being able to speak at Yorba Linda though my own words apparently are not on video/YouTube, or I would post it myself. As I said previously, I am very comfortable with everything I said at Yorba Linda. I also defend Deb Pauly, who is taking a lot of heat for her words. I heard what she said, and in my view, she has nothing to apologize for. I believe that her strongest statements were pertaining to Jihadists, not peaceful Muslims. Below, I am going to outline what I feel our message should be in regards to this very sensitive issue. I am speaking for no one other than myself.
First of all, it would be wrong to paint all American Muslims (or foreign Muslims for that matter) as Jihadists. As I said at Yorba Linda, the Muslims I know love America.
Yet, we must be open and honest that radical anti-American thought does exist within many parts of the Muslim community. There are those that want to bring Islamic rule and sharia law to this country and indeed the world even if it takes 100 years.
Shariah law is antithetical to everything this country stands for when it comes to our freedoms and tolerance for others, including gays and women. It cannot be allowed to implant itself here in any form-not even within the Muslim communities. To do that would be to abandon Muslim women, gays and apostates as if they had no constitutional protections.
Many of the leading Islamic organizations in this country, while pretending to be moderate and mainstream, are in fact, subversive to the core. They must be called out, and we must encourage Muslims of good will to recognize their true nature and reject them. We must also demand that our government authorities aggressively investigate these groups and if warranted by the evidence, prosecute them vigorously. In too many cases, suspect individuals and organizations have been admitted to the highest levels of our political circles and granted status as "moderates".
We must not bow to political correctness and the fear of being labeled, "Islamophobes". This should never be about hating people because they are Muslims. It is about fighting radical, militant Islam as a political ideology that seeks to destroy this country from within and rebuild it the way they want it. Make no mistake; these organizations are making a full-scale effort to discredit those who know the danger that exists and have the courage to speak out. Their goal is to intimidate and silence us.
We must demand that our political leaders understand the threat and take the appropriate measures to defend this country. This is an issue that tea parties should take up nation-wide. To date, tea party rallies have been peaceful. They must remain that way and keep away those who want to spread a message of hate. Insults and hateful rhetoric are not necessary, nor are they helpful, which we learned at Yorba Linda. We must always remember that the media and others are watching and eager to report any negative occurrences.
The Muslim community must understand that they are free to practice their religion as long as it does no harm to others-even within their own communities. We have a long tradition of religious tolerance, and our history shows we have generally gotten it right. However, such ideas as honor-killings, death for apostates and gays, as well as expressions of hate toward non-Muslims, especially Jews, have no place in our society. And make no mistake; we stand with our Jewish fellow-citizens against this resurgence in anti-Semitism. We also expect Muslims to oppose terrorism, to defend this country from such attacks, and fully cooperate with the authorities when they have information. Some have, and I salute them for that. However, much more is needed. I have no wish to see American Muslims isolated in American society or considered a 5th column, but it is clear that there are elements within the Muslim community who are, indeed, a 5th column. Many, if not most, are in positions of power and influence within the Muslim community. They must be exposed and rejected.

There are millions of Americans who stand ready to fight that to the death if necessary. The Bomb in Jerusalem
Today, we awake to the news that a bomb has gone off on a crowded street by the central bus station in Jerusalem, killing a woman and injuring 39.

(located about 10-15 minutes from our home) We are all safe; Hank is in Bethlehem at the House of Bread. The children and I were at home, Abby and Levi playing outdoors when we heard and felt the reverberations from the blast. As I called the children inside, I was reminded of scripture that I read during some quiet time earlier this week: "But all who take refuge in you be glad; let them every sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you." (Ps. 5:11)
I am so thankful for His continued protection on us and the realization that at all times, we can take refuge in Him, no matter the circumstances!
On a more solemn note, this incident will most assuredly spark tensions within the country, so please continue to lift up the nation and all its people. Thank you for your continued prayer!"

Villa Park City Council Meeting Regarding Yorba Linda
The saga of the February 13 Yorba Linda protest continued last night in neighboring Villa Park, where the minions of CAIR continued their slur campaign against Villa Park city councilwoman Deb Pauly for her speech at the aforementioned protest. In that speech Pauly said that she knew a few Marines who could help send terrorists to Paradise. In response, CAIR and the Islamic Circle of North America edited her words in a 5 minute videotape to imply that she was referring to killing the event attendees and American Muslims in general-which is a bunch of horseradish.
Last night, the Villa Park City Council met and people from both sides turned out to address the controversy. Most of the other council members apparently are only too eager to do CAIR's bidding and censure Pauly or get her to apologize. CAIR, in their usual intimidating way, got a few hundred people to turn out to hold signs and shout slogans (How ironic). Also present were several dozen Pauly supporters. Representatives of both sides were able to speak at the council meeting. Below is a report from the Orange County Register with a video.

First of all, I was present at Pauly's speech at Yorba Linda. When it came to Islamic terror and radical Islam, she minced no words; however, I never got the impression that she was talking about Marines sending American Muslims in general to Paradise or that she was calling all Muslims terrorists. She has nothing to apologize for. It is ICNA (and CAIR) that should apologize to the citizens of Yorba Linda for bringing in hate-mongering speakers like Amir Abdel Malik Ali and Siraj Wahhaj to their community.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates opposed getting involved.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton convinced Obama to get involved.
If this is a humanitarian effort to keep Ghaddafi from harming his citizens, what about attacking Sudan, Yemen, Bahrain, Zimbabwe and North Korea?
I am confused, but I am not alone. Apparently, everybody from Obama on down is confused.
The pundits on both sides are confused. Fox is confused. CNN is confused. MSNBC is confused.
It seems the only ones who are not confused are the swallows of San Juan Capistrano and the figure 8 stock car racers.

OC Human Relations Commission-Kangaroo Court
On March 10th, the Orange County Human Relations Commission had their monthly meeting and discussed the Yorba Linda protest of February 13th, which has aroused a barrage of complaints from the Council on American Islamic Relations. In actuality, the commission had planned to meet privately to discuss the matter based on the 5-minute edited video produced by CAIR then make a statement.
Who is the OC Human Relations Commission, you ask? You really don't want to know-but I'll tell you anyway.
This agency, which apparently reports to the OC Board of Supervisors, is one of the biggest white elephants in Orange County. Led by an empty suit political hack named Rusty Kennedy (pictured below), this politically-correct bunch sucks up hundreds of thousands of tax-payers dollars every year to do basically nothing except meet once a month, make statements, and produce an annual chart summarizing the (low) number of hate crimes in Orange County by group. It is a useless document with more filler than a bad sausage.

Well, apparently they survived, so the beat goes on.
Before I continue the latest saga involving the OCHRC, here is an article I posted in 2008, when I got on the wrong side of Kennedy. On this occasion, I sent him a letter complaining about anti-Semitic hate speech on the UC-Irvine campus. See the response that I got.

So flash forward to this month's meeting. Fortunately, some of the people involved in the Yorba Linda protest got wind of the meeting and went to make their case. They each got 3 minutes to speak and were repeatedly cut off as they tried to explain that the people who were shouting at the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) dinner attendees were a split-off from the actual protest, and that they did not represent protest organizers or speakers. They did manage to ask the board members whether they had seen the one-hour video that contained the speakers at the Yorba Linda event before the Muslim attendees even arrived at the ICNA dinner event. None of them had. They had only seen the 5-minute edited CAIR video. One woman dressed in pink was ready to make her statement that evening based on the CAIR video only. In the end, a statement was put off pending "further consultations".
That statement came this past week, and, as expected, it came down against the Yorba Linda protest organizers.

Note that the Commission listed eight points. I agree with points 1, 2 and 4. As to the rest, especially points 5 and 6, I would ask the board members who they are referring to. Those points should be directed to the ICNA and their two featured speakers. But, of course, there was no mention of the radical speakers, Siraj Wahhaj and Amir Abdel Malik Ali. That would not be pleasing to CAIR, who has tried to downplay the fact that those two gentlemen were speaking.
So this is what the tax-payers of Orange County are paying over $300,000 a year for.

It never ceases to amaze me how people like Steve Emerson and his Investigative Project on Terrorism can uncover things our government should be uncovering itself. And to think that Peter King caved in when he decided not to have Emerson testify before his mini-hearing on Islamic terror in the US. Now the IPT is carrying a story alleging that Nihad Awad, the slippery CEO of CAIR, solicited big money from Ghaddafi when he visited the UN in 2009.

So let me make sure I understand the article correctly. CAIR, the "moderate" organization that claims to speak for all Muslims in the US, was (allegedly) asking Muammar Ghaddafi for money to purchase Korans to hand out to government officials and others? Orange County Human Relations Commission to Honor Muzammil Siddiqi

The Orange County Human Relations Commission, led by an empty suit named Rusty Kennedy, is once again showing what a bunch of politically-correct hypocrites they are. This white elephant agency, which has been sucking up about $300,000 a year from the OC tax-payers, has shown over and over again that their idea of fighting hate is quite selective.
Here are some items to consider:
1 Anti-Jewish hate speech at UC Irvine. In 2008, I wrote to Kennedy complaining about anti-Semitic hate speech at UC-Irvine, where I work. I also harshly criticized the university for not addressing the issue. Kennedy wrote back lambasting me for daring to criticize the university.
2 On March 10, Kennedy and his apparatchiks held a meeting (They meet once a month) and later issued a report criticizing in broad general terms the people who held a protest event at the Islamic Circle of North America dinner on February 13 in Yorba Linda, when some hecklers showed up to chant at the dinner attendees when they arrived-something the organizers and speakers at the protest had not sanctioned in any way. The OCHRC said not a word about the reason for the protest-the presence of two radical featured speakers, Amir Abdel Malik Ali and Siraj Wahhaj. They basically did the bidding of CAIR.
3 Now we learn that the OCHRC is going to hold their 40th anniversary gala in which they will honor Imam Muzammil Siddiqi, a former head of the Islamic Society of North America, a man who, in the 1990s, actually hosted the so-called (and now imprisoned) Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel Rahman, at his mosque in Orange County and actually interpreted his words as he gave a sermon on (violent) Jihad.

Siddiqi, to be sure, is one of those who foster an image of moderation. He is accepted into the highest political circles and participates in those interfaith dialogues we hear all about. One would have expected NOW to spring into action, right?
