A Pakistani man has been sentenced to death for farting in 6 different mosques during Ramadan services. World News Daily has the "disturbing" report.

I am pretty sure that the Koran makes no mention of farting, but it seems that farting in a mosque is considered as a form of blasphemy, and that is a capital offense in Pakistan. (Farting in a church is no problem.) You will note that sharia law is mentioned in the article. This is another reason why Sharia law has no place in our country.

Sanctuary Cities Must End

I am following the issue of sanctuary cities very closely. To me the law is clearly on the side of President Trump and his efforts to fight these lawless cities. There must be a way to punish these local officials who refuse to cooperate with immigration officials, and there is. In fact, there are a couple of ways. First, the feds can cut off whatever federal funding they are giving to these cities-or least relevant portions of it- and they can prosecute those who actively work to thwart the work of immigration authorities.

First, let's take the positions of the cities as they try to justify their actions.

First of all, they claim that the law supports them in that local police cannot be "mobilized" to carry out federal law enforcement functions. In practical terms that means that local police cannot be forced into  going out and enforcing immigration law, which is a federal offense. That is true, however, I would argue that there is a legal duty to cooperate with federal officials when you come across a violation. That doesn't mean that if a cop pulls a car over for speeding and finds the person is an illegal alien that he must make an arrest. In fact, I doubt the feds want to have to respond to every instance where a local cop comes across an illegal alien. (Of course, if said illegal alien is driving without a license, I would think the police might want to take action.)

What should be happening in every city is this: Local, state and federal officials should be working as a task force to pool their resources to identify criminal/gang member illegal aliens. The police have the intelligence to know who they are, and the immigration officials can verify their immigration status. In fact, as a retired DEA agent, I personally worked in such a drug task force in Los Angeles in the 1970s and 80s that targeted Southeast Asian heroin. We had LAPD, LASD and Immigration (now ICE) officers in our group, and we knew if our foreign-born suspects were in the country legally or not. (Most were visa overstays.) This is the type of cooperation that is needed-not to target the guys mowing lawns or doing construction work-but being in the country illegally and engaged in criminal activity. That was and is our top priority. Who could argue with that?

Don't answer that question.

Secondly, if local police arrest someone for a crime who is in their jail, and they suspect he might be in the country illegally, they should contact immigration officials to at least have a check run and give the immigration officials the option of placing a hold on the prisoner. It is inexcusable that the local police/court system could have a criminal go through their system and be put back on the street without ICE being notified and given the option of beginning deportation proceedings. This dereliction has led to several murders being committed by people who should have been removed from the country. The Kate Steinle case in San Francisco (see Kate's Law) is the most famous, as well as the Jamiel Shaw murder in Los Angeles, but there have been many others.

That takes me to the second point of defense we hear from cities. I have heard many chiefs-of-police state that it would hurt law enforcement because people who are in the country illegally would be afraid to come forward and report crimes either as witnesses or victims. Because of my above experience, I also know that these issues can be worked around. We often came in contact with illegal aliens who were victims or witnesses (or informants) and together with Immigration, we chose to obtain the person's cooperation rather than simply arrest him and deport him because he (or she) was illegal.

We either have an immigration system or we don't. If we don't and we can't control who enters our country, we shall lose our country eventually. I am a supporter of legal immigration being married to a legal immigrant. That being said, we have a serious immigration problem in terms of a porous southern border, the presence of illegal alien criminals, and terrorists coming here with the intent to do us harm. It is time to apply the law. President Trump should order his departments to start cutting federal funding to cities that have declared themselves to be sanctuary cities. He should also order the attorney general to begin criminal investigations of cities where officials take affirmative action to obstruct the efforts of ICE to do its job. I believe it's called  obstruction of justice. A couple of successful prosecutions should send a powerful message to these lawless officials.

CNN Should Change Its Name to the Trump News Network

CNN should change its name to the Trump News Network (TNN) since President Trump is the only thing they talk about these days. The "Most Trusted Name in News" is now on a level plane with MSNBC when it comes to bashing Trump. The latest flap is the now famous video Trump put out imposing the CNN logo on the head of Vince McMahon, whom Trump did a wrestling skit with in his pre-White House days. CNN (unlike most of the country) is not laughing about the video. They feel like Trump is now encouraging violence against reporters.

Really?

This, of course, is the same network that had comedienne Kathy Griffin co-hosting the CNN New Years Eve festivities with all her raunchiness including a simulation of her giving oral sex to Anderson Cooper on air. That was all fine and dandy. Then (to their credit) CNN canned her after her photo holding a "severed" Trump head a'la ISIS. It was free speech to be sure, but CNN was correct to get rid of her.

I would be the first to concede that Trump's own CNN video was hardly presidential. While I wish he would act more presidential and just get on with his agenda, I am reconciled to the fact that we will not have a "presidential" president in Trump. This is what it is. I am more concerned with his policies. Of course, the snowflakes at CNN are trying to pump this up into something that might lead to Trump's impeachment or removal from office under some other pretext, such as the President's "unbalanced behavior". That's not going to happen any more than that "Russian collusion" charge is going to result in anything. CNN will have to find some other straw to grasp at. Perhaps the White House not televising press briefings? Not hardly.

So what is CNN to do? Clearly, Wolf Blitzer and company have a situation on their hands, to use Wolfie's own phrase. They just have no answer for Trump and his unpredictable behavior. I suggest they start covering him with a more balanced approach. Give him credit when he dies something good. Start talking a little bit about all the other things being investigated that pertain to the Clinton campaign and its collusion with the DNC. I know. I won't be holding my breath.

But if CNN wants to look for unbalanced behavior, it need look no further than former New Years Eve co-host Griffin's performance after her firing. Or how about White House correspondent Jim Acosta's shouting hysterically about the lack of TV cameras in the press briefing? How about Van Jones and his "white backlash" comment on election eve? How about Jones' comment to a Project Veritas undercover reporter that the Russian collusion deal was a "nothing burger"? How about that producer telling a PV undercover reporter that the American voters are, "stupid as sh--"?

A German Activist Is Interviewed in Poland

Tatjana Festerling is a German activist against the Islamization of Germany. In this video, posted by Gates of Vienna and translated by Ava Lon and Vlad Tepes, she is interviewed in Poland about the situation in Germany with the Islamic onslaught. She describes what daily life is like in Germany and the stubborn policies of Angela Merkel. The interview is in Polish and German, but sub-titled by Ava Lon. It is interesting to note that when asked what is the light at the end of the tunnel, she says Poland is the light. That is because it is countries like Poland and other Eastern Europe who are resisting the influx and refusing to take migrants and refugees.

The Latest "Injustice" at UCLA: Spatial

Being a native of Los Angeles, let me say something about those areas "cut off" from the rest of the city by those freeways, which according to this theory, are tantamount to a modern day version of the Alps. It's called underpasses and overpasses. For example, while driving west or east on the Santa Monica freeway, you can exit at, say, Western Avenue and go either north or south. Conversely, if you are driving east on Western and arrive at the same freeway, the street doesn't come to an end. It goes right on below the freeway to the other side. So nobody is cut off from anything. This is just one example. It's true everywhere you go. I dare say it's even true in Chicago.

If these learned professors would venture out of their Westwood ivory tower and get in their cars (if they know how to drive), they could drive around and discover this all for themselves.

"I must be coming up on one of those freeways, by Jove."

UC Gets More California Tax-Payer Money In Spite of Secret Fund

The People's Republic of California may soon have its own currency: Play money. That's the way Governor Jerry Brown and his pals in Sacramento treat the tax payers' money. In this latest outrage, the University of California-still reeling over disclosure of a secret $175 million fund- is now getting an increase in funding from the state to the tune of $131.2 million.

UC Irvine's Confronting Anger and Hate Videos

On May 1, an event was held at UC Irvine entitled,"Confronting Anger and Hate". I attended the event and videotaped it. I also had a chance to ask Orange County imam Muzzamil Siddique about his practice of allowing the UCI Muslim Student Union and Students for Justice in Palestine to use his Garden Grove mosque to assemble their mock apartheid wall for their annual May anti-Israel week of events. Siddique, of course, evaded the question entirely.

Today, I received three video segments of the event from Ms. Susan Coons of UCI. The videos contain some editing, and I assume for legitimate reasons. I do note however, that while my question to Siddiqi was not edited, nor his "answer", Dr Thomas Parham's repeating my question to Siddique was edited out. I am sure there is no malevolent motive involved. I do wonder, however, why in the UCI video, one cannot hear an audience member in the back calling out for Siddique to "answer the question." It can be heard in my video (above link, 4th clip down at .58 seconds). That part of Siddique's comments came at the 49:02 mark of the third UCI video below.







I assume there is a legitimate reason why, "Answer the question" is not heard. It probably had something to do with the position of the microphones.

"Some Men" in Sweden

Sweden, the rape capital of Europe, now sees a popular music festival canceled next year  because this one was marred by rapes and other sexual assaults by "some men".

Is It Time for the East Europeans to Lead?

The news out of West Europe continues to be nothing but bad. Terror attacks, rapes, murders, crime in the streets, hundreds of thousands of migrants pouring in from the Middle East and Africa, and the (west) Europeans seem powerless to stop any of it. Instead, political correctness reigns supreme. Europeans who speak out against it all are threatened with prosecution for hate speech. Conservative parties, though they are growing in popularity, have yet to take power as evidenced by recent elections in the UK, France, Austria and the Netherlands. The establishment parties and politicians who are responsible for this mess remain in power. To be sure, they are threatened; they feel the pressure. However, it is not enough that parties who want to stop unchecked immigration and get the radical Islamic elements out of their countries come in second place in elections. They need to win control of their respective countries. And standing behind all this in solid support of the establishment parties, who allow more and more immigration, is the EU-the new Soviet Union- trying to hold itself together and keep control over the lives of its member states' citizens.

In contrast, stand the Eastern Europeans, countries like the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. Only recently having come out of the darkness of communism, they are not willing to surrender newly found freedoms so easily. They are defying the EU's mandate to take in "their fair share" of Syrians, other Arabs, refugees, asylum-seekers, migrants, and those who might carry out terrorist attacks in the future. It is these nations who are more supportive of the US. It is these nations who say that they bear no past responsibility for the plight of the migrants and refugees. They state openly that these people will never assimilate into the host country culture, and they want no part of it.

How refreshing is that?

For example, here is Polish MP  Jarosław Aleksander Kaczyński speaking just this week about the issue.

Last October, as reported by Gates of Vienna, Hungarian voters voted to reject the EU's mandatory quotas for migrants into their country. Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, has promised to follow through. He is adamantly opposed to importing these problems into his country. Last week, the prime minister again promised to stand firm.

In addition, the Czechs have said, "no more".

Not surprisingly, the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels are threatening retaliation if Eastern European countries don't get in line with the program. It makes Eastern Europeans wonder what is the good of being in the EU if they have to accept these dictates.

It seems to me that it is our newest allies in Eastern Europe who are acting with more common sense and responsibility while the westerners are pursing a path of insanity and self destruction. If the EU is going to continue, it needs to wake up to the threat of this mass invasion and stop issuing threats to the Eastern Europeans. The Germans and French may be the most powerful, but they have forfeited the moral right to lead Europe.

Here is a series of developments around Europe as posted this week by my friends at Gates of Vienna. We begin with Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders making his case in the Parliament for a crackdown on Islamic radicals in his country. His opponents in the Parliament including Prime Minister Mark Rudde, continue to bury their heads in the sand.




Meanwhile in Poland, another sensible official representing a country that has the sense to say "No" to the mass migration of uninvited people, explains that Poland has no moral responsibility to admit anybody. Here is Polish MP Aleksander Kaczynski.



But returning to Western Europe, the rampage and bloodshed continues.


A Muslim from Tunisia confessed to brutally murdering an elderly Austrian couple to show his anger toward the country he chose to settle in and the Austrian Freedom Party.

In Lucerne, Switzerland,a  17-year-old boy was attacked by a mob of migrants and beaten nearly blind.

And all the while, Abdallah Zekri, an Algerian-born French citizen from some agency dedicated to fighting "Islamophobia", implied that  assimilation is a crime against humanity.




In summary, while this mass migration of Muslims from the Middle East and Africa has brought terrorism, crime and welfare costs to Europe, the idea of assimilation is considered an affront. Meanwhile, Western European leaders deny the problem and Eastern Europeans stand up and tell the EU that they want no part of it all.

I hope Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic lead another wave of exits from the EU.
