Switzerland Expects Terror Attack in its Future

That's the message delivered by the Swiss defense minster as a result of  a federal intelligence report. It is interesting because Switzerland, thus far, has been spared the horrors of its neighbors.

I find it amusing that Mr. Parmelin blames Brexit and the election of Donald Trump as being among the factors causing a heightened threat. The events in Turkey, sure, but not the decisions of British and American voters.

But I have a solution for the minister. Don't let terrorists into your country. Works every time.

Why Is the Prime Minister of Italy Meeting George Soros?

Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni has held an unannounced meeting with George Soros at the Palazzo Chigi (government seat) in Rome. Members of the Italian parliament are asking what the meeting was all about given Soros' role in the currency speculation that did sever damage to the lira and his support for unrestricted migration into Italy. Below is a translation I have done for Vlad Tepes blog. The report is from Il Giornale.

A visit of which Senator (Fl) Lucio Malan is asking for an explanation. "It is surprising to read that the President of the Cabinet (Prime Minster), Paolo Gentiloni- (he) affirms- has today received the multi-billionaire George Soros, the same as the president of the Federal Republic of Germany, who will be at Chigi Palace (seat of govt.) shortly. Soros, by his own admission, was the protagonist of (currency) speculations, which in 1992, caused a devaluation of the lira of 30% and the dissipation of 40 thousand billion lira currency reserves at the Bank of Italy, (and) today openly supports the widest possible immigration into Italy, advocates and finances  LGBT politics, and is in favor of drug liberalization. It would be interesting to know the reasons and the content of this meeting (which was) not announced in advance or reported," asks Malan." On the government site, there is not a trace of the meeting. And this feeds the doubt."

"I will present an inquiry to Premier Gentiloni to ask the motives for the presence of the entrepreneur Soros at Chigi Palace. Evidently, if he was received at the official seat of the government, it concerns an institutional engagement, and it is normal for the Parliament to be informed, given the role that he played in the speculative attack of 1992 against the lira, which he considered a 'legitimate financial operation, " states Elvira Savino, deputy of Forza Italia.

Hillary Clinton- Crybaby

Hillary Clinton is back appearing this week in an interview with the ever-friendly Christiane Amanpour at a women's forum in Manhattan. Of course, she has another blockbuster book on the way, no doubt full of self congratulation and self-pity. In this interview with Amanpour, Hillary lays it on full blast-blaming her defeat once again on James Comey and the "Russian Wikileaks".

Of course, when asked what responsibility she accepts, the obvious answer is "full responsibility" because after all, she was the candidate. She admits there were mistakes-but.............

What Clinton does not admit to was her disgraceful performance as an ineffective secretary of state before, during, and after Benghazi, her email scandals, her corrupt foundation, and her uninspired candidacy, in which she failed to explain one reason why she should be president other than her own naked ambition.

The American people saw through her to the point they elected a flawed candidate like Donald Trump. She should be embarrassed.

Spare us your next book, Hillary. Just go back into those woods and get lost.

The Adam Jones Incident

As a fervent baseball fan (Chicago Cubs), I cannot let the Adam Jones incident go without comment. Jones is an outfielder with the Baltimore Orioles, and a very good player. On Monday, while playing at Boston's Fenway Park, he was taunted by a group of fans in the bleachers. Someone threw a bag of peanuts at him and Jones heard someone hurl the n-word at him more than once as well. (Jones is black.)

My God- are we back to 1947? That was when Jackie Robinson broke in with the Brooklyn Dodgers as baseball's first black major leaguer. Robinson was subjected to rejection by some of his teammates, and took a ton of abuse from fans around the league as well as bench jockeys from other teams. Today, Robinson is revered not just because he was a great player, but more for his courage.

Seventy years later, after we have seen Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, Henry Aaron, Ernie Banks, names I could go on forever listing, Adam Jones gets called the n-word in Fenway Park in 2017?

Red Sox fans have always been known to be tough on visiting players. If kept clean, it is part of the game's tradition. Jones himself has acknowledged that. This is not clean. As far as I know, racial epithets were not part of the Fenway Park tradition over the many decades of its existence.

To their credit, the Red Sox have responded appropriately. Approximately 30 fans were ejected after the Jones incident. The team has apologized and team owners met with Jones today to apologize personally. When Jones came to the plate for the first time tonight, he was given a standing ovation. Obviously, the entire city of Boston, a city with a troubled racial history, is embarrassed. A few knuckleheads have made Red Sox nation look bad.

It is more coincidental than anything else, but the Red Sox were the last team to integrate when they brought up Pumpsie Green in the late 1950s. More to the point, baseball hardly needs this incident. Aside from the obvious wrong, it comes at a time when the sport is still struggling to attract young African-Americans back to the game. For years now, African-American youngsters have been choosing football and basketball over baseball. Right now, there are only 62 African-American players in the major leagues. That is unacceptably low. Most of the black players you see in MLB now are Latin American players from the Caribbean. The issue is not that teams are discriminating against African-American players. The business is winning, pure and simple. The problem, as stated, is that African-American kids are not being drawn to the game as before. Go to a ballpark and count how many black fans are there. Perhaps, economics is an issue since ticket and concession prices are so high. I firmly believe that if kids don't go to see the major leaguers play-and the minor leaguers as well- they probably won't spend much time playing the sport. When I was young and playing semi-pro  and college baseball, I was playing with and against black ballplayers hoping just like me to make it into pro ball. (I failed.) For a year or so, I even played on a semi-pro team in which I was one of two white players. We had been invited to join the team and there was no problem. We were teammates in every sense of the word. One of them, who was older, had played pro ball at Reno, and he told me a bit about the discrimination he faced. It all was a great life's lesson for me.

But I digress.

The Jones incident reminds us that even though we may disagree with certain issues like Black Lives Matter, police shootings, and what constitutes actual racism, that some anti-black racism is still out there. The Jones incident is not a liberal-conservative issue. Nobody should be subjected to that.

Cornell has had a lot of problems in recent years when it comes to bullying and intimidation of Jewish students. If they want to make a start in improving their image, they could begin by banning SJP from campus. This is an organization of Brown Shirts.

Marine LePen Wins Important Ally

The smart money has been saying that Emmanuel Macron would become the next president of France in a runoff with Marine LePen of the Front National. However, LePen has now won the support of Nicolas Dupont-Aignan and his centrist Debout la France  party. It has now been reported that if elected, LePen will nominate Dupont-Aignan as prime minister.

May Day in Rip City

Now I know why the Portland Trailblazers have jerseys that read, "Rip City". Portland, Oregon is becoming  a very out of control place. That was much in evidence yesterday which was May Day, the international communist holiday. Antifa, the group formerly known as Occupy, caused a riot in Portland yesterday. As is her custom, Rep. Maxine Waters spoke out forcefully against the rioters (LOL).

Muzammil Siddiqi's Secret Exposed at UC Irvine Forum on Hate

Muzammil Siddiqi is the head imam at the Islamic Center of Orange County in Garden Grove, California. Many in Orange County consider him a moderate Muslim, a bridge builder.  Yet, this is the same man who in 1992 hosted the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel Rahman, at his mosque and translated his sermon into English. That was of course before the Blind Sheikh went to prison on terrorism charges.

Last night, Siddiqi was part of one of those kumbaya forums where he appears often with leaders
of other faiths and talks about peace and love telling his audiences that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance. Last night's event at UC Irvine was a followup to an event I attended recently at  Bat Yahm synagogue in Newport Beach, in which Siddiqi also participated. But as Siddiqi sat at a table with other dignitaries that included two local rabbis, he was holding a secret-a secret that was exposed. You see in recent years when the UCI Muslim Student Union and Students for Justice in Palestine at UC Irvine would hold their annual May week of events dedicated to deligitimizing the state of Israel, their mock "apartheid wall"-a takeoff on the Israel wall constructed to keep out Palestinian terrorists and suicide bombers- was being assembled at Siddiqi's mosque. That was the secret that was exposed last night.

Last night's audience consisted of approximately 100 people. I am guessing they were mostly students and older members of the Jewish community. There did not appear to be many if any Muslims in attendance.The forum was entitled; "Confronting  Anger and Hate-From the Local to the Global". The panelists were:

After introductory remarks by Dr Parham, Douglas Haynes, head of the UCI Office of Equity Diversity and Inclusion, read a written statement by Jack Miles, Professor Emeritus, Director  of religious studies at UCI. Dr Miles was too ill to attend, so his 8-page statement was read. There was an oblique reference to lack of charity by certain Christian leaders (see first video clip below). Then Benjamin Hubbard, Professor Emeritus of religious studies at UCI spoke. It was all about peace and love.

I videotaped most of the event. In order to save the power on my video camera, I turned it off occasionally when I felt there was little of interest being said by a particular speaker. I also had a brief malfunction with my video camera at one point.

If could summarize, most all of the comments were standard, run of the mill talk about understanding the person you hated or feared, loving instead of hating, and listening to the other side, etc., good advice to be sure for the younger members of the audience but lacking in any real substance. Ali read a nasty email she had received from some anonymous person attacking the Muslim community. She encouraged Muslims to get to know their neighbors and convince them that they (Muslims) were good people. Siddiqi gave his standard talk on loving and respecting everybody like the Koran instructs. Chief Cisneros and Deputy Chief Frank were really able to offer very little, and Frank appeared totally unprepared to say anything. He did at one point refer to an anonymous person who had been writing hateful letters to local mosques in California, and though no crime had been committed, his officers paid the man a visit. Frank said he would leave it at that. There were occasionally positive references to former President Obama, and Ali took a sideways shot at President Trump (though not by name) for his tweets etc.

Rabbi Rachlis at one point referred to the tensions between Jewish and Muslim students on campus arising out of the annual MSU-SJP events in May attacking Israel. That opened the door for my question

When the q and a began, I stepped to the mic and asked the first question. I introduced myself and told the audience that I had been a teacher at UCI from 1998-2016 and had seen first-hand the problems on campus that Rabbi Rachlis had alluded to. I then directed my question to Siddiqi. I stated that in recent years, the mock apartheid wall, used as a prop during the week of events, and which contained many inflammatory writings and images, had been assembled at the Islamic Center of Orange County. I asked Siddiqi if he thought this was beneficial for Muslim-Jewish relations and if he would allow his mosque to be used for the same purpose again this year.

As the flowers in the room all wilted and died, Siddiqi asked for the question to be repeated, which Dr Parham did. Siddiqi was totally unable to address the question. He stumbled around about coming here with his Jewish friends and that Palestinians had their own point of view, but that dialogue was important. At one point, a man in the back of the room said, "Answer the question!". Siddiqi continued to dance around but never came close to addressing my questions. It was painful to watch. That exchange can be viewed at the 4th clip down beginning at the 50 second mark. (At the start I am holding my camera downward because I am standing at the mic.)

The subsequent questions are only good for entertainment value. There were some doozies.

After the event concluded, several Jewish people came up to me and thanked me for asking the question including the man I just referenced.

Chalk up another victim to Angela Merkel and her insane immigration policy. On Saturday, a 38-year-old woman was out shopping with her two children, ages 11 and 5, in the southern German town of Prien (near Rosenheim) when she was attacked and stabbed in front of her children by a 29-year-old Afghan man. The  victim was stabbed in the head, and her throat was slashed. The woman was taken to a hospital but died of her injuries. Her attacker was subdued by a policemen with the help of bystanders.
