Reverend Shakedown

It has been known for years that Jesse Jackson has used his influence to shake down corporations into paying him and his favored cronies money to avoid charges of racism. Now the NY Post has an article charging that Al Sharpton is doing the same.

http://nypost.com/2015/01/04/how-sharpton-gets-paid-to-not-cry-racism-at-corporations/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_term=NYP+180+Day+Openers+and+30+Day+Signups&utm_campaign=NY%2520Post%2520Newsletter

And how timely this is since Reverend Al has just been chosen the 2014 Fousesquawk Jerk of the Year. My choice is validated.

Jim Clapper's Playoff Lock of the Week

Hey there, sports fans. It's Jimbo Clapper here with your playoff lock of the week. This weekend, I'm picking the Lions-Cowboys game for my prediction. That's because, of course, the Cardinals-Panthers and the Ravens-Steelers games are completed and it's already halftime  at Indianapolis. In addition, I've been busy keeping the President and Vice President up to date and informed about North Korea's latest moves. I'm sure you all understand.

For some inside scoop, I'm taking you to one of my top inside sources in Dallas. Come in, Mistie.

"Well, Jim, I talked to Coach Garrett, and I asked him what he needs his team to do to win this game. He told me that they need to play smash mouth football, stop the Lions' run attack, shut down the passing attack plus run and pass the ball effectively themselves. Back to you, Jimbo."

Thanks, Mistie. Fans, in this game, I'm giving the Lions the road edge. I think it'll be a low-scoring affair with lots of defense.

Remember Libya? Persecution of Christians Continues.

Hat tip The Blaze

 * The above symbol is the Arabic character for N. In the fighting in Iraq and Syria, it has been used by ISIS to symbolize "Nazarene". The symbol has been painted on Christian homes to identify them. It has now been adopted by Middle Eastern Christians in the US to bring attention to the persecution of Christians in the Middle East.

You remember Libya, don't you? That was the country we sort of helped liberate from Muammar Ghaddafi (leading from behind). That was where our consulate in Benghazi was attacked and four Americans were killed. Well, in case you forgot about Libya, here is what just happened. Gunmen have kidnapped 13 Coptic Christians after identifying them and separating them from Muslims.

The persecution of Christians by Muslims continues in the Middle East.

Fatah Celebrates 50 Years of Terror

Hat tip Pro-Israel Bay Bloggers

                                                                                         Celebrate This

Our "friends" in the West Bank, Fatah, the people our leaders (Obama-Kerry) think will make peace with Israel, are celebrating 50 years of terror even as they apply to the International Criminal Court.

http://proisraelbaybloggers.blogspot.com/2015/01/moderate-fatah-celebrates-50-years-of.html

Isn't it amazing what some people will celebrate and take pride in? While Israel has the only democracy in the Middle East and continues to build things and make technological advances, here you have a people (the Palestinians) who can only hate, murder, and destroy. And you think these people will ever come to a true peace treaty with Israel and build their own functioning state? I don't see it. Think of it: They are celebrating the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre of Israeli athletes, sky-jackings, suicide bombings, and countless acts of terror against Israelis and others. Well, after all, they also celebrated 9-11.

In Gaza, it's even worse because they are run by Hamas, a terror group that bases its beliefs on Islamic doctrine, hatred of Jews, and a determination to take over all of Israel.

Celebrate?

More New Years Insanity in France

Hat tip Jihad Watch and the Telegraph

Once again, the cry of "Allahu Akbar" rang in the New Year in France. While 940 cars were torched on New Years Eve in several French cities, in Metz, a prisoner tried to strangle his jailer.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/11323269/Man-shouting-God-is-Great-tries-to-strangle-French-police-officer.html

Don't try this in New York.

Sweden's Suicide Pact

Hat tip Jihad i Malmö,and Fjordman

"What's in your will?"

The Norwegian blogger Fjordman has posted an article in the Swedish blog, Jihad i Malmö, It concerns  Sweden's disastrous immigration situation and the implications it has with the country's Nordic neighbors.

 http://jihadimalmo.blogspot.se/2015/01/sveriges-sjalvmordspakt.html

(Wikipedia)

The year's first contribution will be a column by Fjordman.

A Suicide pact is when two or several persons enter into a pact to commit suicide together. It is thus, a kind of collective suicide, but it is principally understood to be associated with larger groups of people who commit suicide out of ideological, religious or similar reasons."

Note: Fjordman is a highly educated Norwegian blogger who was studying Arabic in Cairo when 9-11 happened. After watching the celebrations in the streets, he reconsidered his attitudes and eventually became a blogger back in Norway writing about the dangers of Islamic immigration into Europe. He has not only been subject to death threats, but threats of prosecution from his own government. After the mass murders committed in Norway by Anders Breivik, it was falsely claimed by some that Breivik was associated with Fjordman, who quickly condemned Breivik's actions.
On one occasion a couple of years back, Fjordman entered into Fousesquawk's discussion thread regarding another Islam critic, Eric Allen Bell (who has also criticized Christianity as well-leading to their disagreement).

Unequal Application of Campus Speech Codes

Hat tip College Insurrection

Campus Insurrection is cross-posting this article from the Jerusalem Post describing how US universities are applying campus speech codes unequally. The writer is not completely identified but states that his/her campus is the University of Wisconsin.

http://www.jpost.com/Opinion/How-campus-speech-codes-silence-the-pro-Israel-community-386244

The article incorrectly names UCLA as the campus where the Israeli ambassador's speech was disrupted. It was UC Irvine, of course, where I teach part-time. Ar any rate, the article is important. Pro-Israeli students must insist that their right of free speech is protected and must speak out when violations occur.

Muslim Persecution of Christians, October 2014

Hat tip Raymond Ibrahim and Monkey in the Middle

Below via Monkey in the Middle is a summary of Muslim acts of persecution against Christians around the world as compiled by Raymond Ibrahim and various human rights watch organizations. It is not pleasant reading, but should be read nonetheless.

Michigan CAIR Head Boasts on Twitter That He Is Quoted in Nation of Islam Paper

Hat tip Investigative Project on Terrorism

Dawud Walid-CAIR Michigan

Dawud Walid is the head of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations. Just recently, he went on Twitter to brag to his followers that he had been quoted in an article in the Final Call, which so happens to be the press organ of Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam. The article in question was one that proclaims that the real threat to America's security comes from right-wing white supremacists. Naturally, it quotes that boffo 2009 report from Janet Napolitano's DHS.

https://twitter.com/DawudWalid/status/550252160517423105

It is hardly surprising that Walid would subscribe to the notion outlined in the referenced article. He has said as much on numerous occasions when he is complaining about Islamophobia. I would have thought he was a bit smarter than to brag about being quoted by the Nation of Islam's press organ, however.

New Years in France

-Atlas Shrugs

If you spend New Years Eve watching the festivities in Times Square or Las Vegas, try France next year.  The New Years Eve sport is not just fireworks in France; it is setting cars on fire. The good news this year is that the number of torched cars this year is down to 940. Last year it was over 1,000.The French blog Gallia Watch has the "good news".

http://galliawatch.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-official-report.html

Of course, the French, like other Europeans, have to twist themselves into pretzels when reporting just who is carrying out these acts of arson. The truth is that it is the Muslim immigrants.

Palestinians Apply to International Criminal Court

In a case of classic chutzpah, the Palestinian Authority under Mahmoud Abbas has applied for full participant status at the International Criminal Court, where they hop to press war crimes charges against Israel.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/01/02/palestinians-formally-submit-documents-to-un-to-join-icc/?intcmp=latestnews

This follows the refusal of the UN Security Council to grant statehood to the Palestinians. But if the Palestinians think they are going to drag Israel before the ICC, they may find it is a double-edged sword. Suicide bombings, kidnappings, murders of civilians, these are the things that Palestinians do best. They may find themselves on the wrong side of the dock someday.

Two UC Professors Make The College Fix Ten Most Biased of 2014

Hat tip The College Fix

http://www.thecollegefix.com/post/20669/

It may not rise to the stature of Fousesquawk's Jerk of the Year Award(LOL),  but  The College Fix has come out with their list of the year's top ten most biased professors. And as a proud adjunct teacher at the University of California at Irvine, I am red-faced to learn that two UC professors, both of whom are at UC Santa Barbara, have made the list.

I should also note that out of the ten incidents recited above, we posted seven of them here at Fousesquawk. One other professor, Anthea Butler, has been cited here for other incidents.

Of course, I could have added a couple of my own nominations from UC Skate Board, not to mention a whole bunch from the other campuses, but why bother?
