Italy: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of the Winter Olympics

While most of us in the US were watching the splendid opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Milan's San Siro Stadium, as only the Italians know how to put it on, Italy was painfully aware that outside the stadium, in various parts of the city, thousands of protesters, Antifa-types, anarchists, pro-Palestinian types, and Islamists were running amok, attacking police, trying to breach the barricades surrounding the stadium, and launching explosive fireworks at police. In other parts of the country, anarchists were busy sabotaging rail cables and destroying rail infrastructure in an attempt to shut down the country's train traffic.

For me, it is a sad sight, having lived in Milan from 1982-1987, and for the first 2 years of that period, we resided in an apartment directly across the street from San Siro Stadium.

This is just another example of the international marriage of the far left, the pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel movement, and the Islamists. The photos and the videos clearly show the presence of the Palestinian flags and the Palestinian scarves among the rioters.

But for those of you in the US watching the Olympics in Milan and Cortina who have not seen these images, you might ask yourselves why.
