"I can confirm that we arrested a person suspected of murder," says prosecutor Mats Ihlbom to NA (News).

Two men were shot last Friday outside the Örebro mosque after Friday prayers. One of them, a man aged 25, died from his injuries. The other was hit, but his injuries are judged not to be life-threatening.

Last Monday, another person was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to the murder.

Police stressed early on that they did not see any connection to the mosque or its activity, but rather to gang criminality.

"We have knowledge of these persons who were shot. The picture I have is that it was directed to either one or both of them," said Roberto Eid Forest, local police chief in Örebro
