Turin taken over by violent demonstrators and pro-Palestinians
"No Meloni Day"
Yesterday, thousands of students and young activists took to the streets of major Italian cities against Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and other ministers, particularly the Minister of Education, Giuseppe Valditara. In addition to all that, the pro-Palestinians were out in force with their flags and keffiyas.
The worst violence occurred in Turin, where thousands pushed past police cordons, and occupied principal buildings in Turin, including the iconic Mole Antonelliana building, the symbol of the city. To add insult to injury, they took down the flags of Italy and the European Union and replaced them with a Palestinian flag.
Some 15-20 police officers were hospitalized when someone threw a rudimentary explosive device, and the officers were overcome with smoke and fumes.
We are working on translating a news video of the disgusting display of violence, particularly in Turin.
