One good turn deserves another as the old saying goes. Thus, Janet Napolitano will continue to serve as the president of the University of California in spite of the UC Regents finding that her office improperly interfered with a state audit of the university. Below are the reports this week by the campus newspapers of UC Berkeley and UCLA.

“The president’s decision … reflected poor judgment and set in motion a course of conduct that the regents find unacceptable,” Kieffer said at the meeting.
He added, however, that the board maintains confidence in Napolitano and supports her continued leadership.

I apologize for the actions that I have taken that may have detracted from the reputation of this wonderful institution and the great people associated with it,” she said. “I personally apologize to each and every one on this board for what has happened here.
Napolitano's tenure at the University of California has been similar to her tenure at Homeland Security under President Obama: Chaotic. While incidents of anti-semitism continue on virtually every UC campus with no remedial measures taken, Napolitano has gone overboard in supporting DACA students (Dreamers). UC campuses are now dotted with Dream Centers for the benefit of students who are not legally in the US. Meanwhile, UC is building a center for the study of free speech in Washington DC of all places. Safe to say, a lot of money is being wasted within the university system.
