Finsbury Park Mosque Attack in London

The Finsbury Park Mosque in London has been linked to radicalism for several years. Last night as worshipers emerged from the mosque, a van drove through several of them, killing one and injuring several others. A man reportedly got out of the van and began stabbing people before he was subdued by police. He reportedly screamed, "I'm going to kill all Muslims."

This is unfortunate and must be condemned. It is not the way to combat terrorism.

Update: Fox News (Shepherd Smith) reported today that since 2003, Finsbury Park Mosque has done much to reverse its radical reputation.

According to this morning's paper, Finsbury Park Mosque used to be associated with radical variants of Islam, but was closed and reorganized, and has not been so associated in about ten years.

What we need is to dispassionately condemn, arrest, try, convict, and imprison anyone who drives trucks into crowds, whether out of love for or hatred of any faith, creed, color, nationality, or anything else. And nobody should be trying to make brownie points out of who is behind the wheel this time, even if they offer sincere caveats that its also wrong if one of their own does it.

I have just updated this post to note that Fox News reported the same this morning. I had not been aware.
