"Free Speech" at DePaul

DePaul University is rapidly earning a reputation as a place where conservative speech is not welcome. Recently, security guards stood by and watch impassively as students disrupted and took over an appearance by conservative pundit Milo Yiannopoulos. Then they compounded the error by not allowing him to return to campus. Now they are refusing to allow a conservative student group to bring conservative commentator Ben Shapiro to campus.

Of course, DePaul is using great reasoning. Since the presence of a conservative speaker is likely to draw left-wing Brown Shirts who will disrupt and bring the risk of physical violence, said conservative speakers must be banned. Leftist speakers on the other hand, are A-OK because conservatives don't engage in disruptive or violent tactics. Thus DePaul's administrators are keeping the campus safe for fascism.

At least that's the way I see it.
