Milo Yiannopoulos : No Free Speech at DePaul University

Hat tip Campus Reform, College Insurrection and Breitbart

DePaul University has  buildings in downtown Chicago and Lincoln Park. I happened to walk past it (or one of their buildings-maybe it was the Loop Campus) years ago while walking to a German restaurant downtown for dinner. It may not be bucolic, but it does have a lot of potted plants (aka campus police). Such was the case when conservative gay pundit Milo Yiannopoulos came to speak. Naturally, he was disrupted by the campus boors. Naturally, the boors won when campus police (and apparently, the much-feared Chicago PD) stood by and acted like, well, you know.

Breitbart has a longer version which really shows what a circus it was.

Yiannopoulos is coming to UC Irvine June 2, and his arrival has already been met with trepidation and fear among UCI's cupcake community, who are searching desperately for safe spaces to hide from his "hateful speech". Thankfully, the vice provost for Academic Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion ( I hope I got those in the right order), has already promised them all that.

I have it marked on my calendar and plan to be there to watch all the excitement.
