White House Belatedly Orders Flags Lowered

Flagpoles at UC Irvine lowered to half staff in honor of the victims of Chattanooga

This is disgraceful,. It took an outcry and pressure from Congress, but President Obama has finally ordered the White House flag to be lowered in honor of the five military victims of an Islamic terrorist in Chattanooga. He leads from behind.

I just don't know how this man, Obama, thinks. He is so quick to insert himself into public events like Treyvon Martin, Michael Brown and Freddie Gray. How quick he has been to call the families and send his representatives to the funerals. But when it comes to five military personnel killed by a terrorist, he does and says little to nothing. He has called none of the families. He has treated this tragedy in the same cold manner that he has treated the murder of Kate Steinle in San Francisco by an illegal alien career criminal.

He leads from behind.

No, this man has other priorities like visiting a federal prison to commemorate the commutation of sentences of 46 criminals mostly drug traffickers-who he refers to as "non-violent offenders". This includes one drug kingpin who ran a crack distribution organization along the Florida coast.

I think deep in Obama's heart, he feels personal sympathy for members of certain classes when they are killed by police or some white person. Like too many other black leaders, the hundreds of black on black murders that plague major cities is not on his agenda. Why? Is it because there is no convenient group to blame? When it comes to military members killed or the Kate Steinle's of the world, he exhibits cold indifference. Only when pressured will he say something or lower a flag.

He leads from behind.

Here is my question? Are the families of the Chattanooga Five (to borrow a left-wing phrase) going receive the survivors' benefits according to military regulations, or will this be another case where the dead don't even get Purple Hearts? In other words, will this be another Ft Hood workplace violence matter?

Probably will be treated as workplace violence even though the shooter's connections to Islamic extremism seem to grow by leaps and bounds. What a farce this bunch is!!! I am almost, but not quite, starting to think about maybe being ashamed of my country, a la Moochelle Obama.

Elwood,

I do not like what we are becoming.

I don't like it much either. I still believe we can (maybe) survive the remainder of Obama, but I don't know what the hell will happen if he is followed by 4-8 years of Hillary in particular. I guess we can all become good little socialists/communists like Siarlys and live in Utopia. Can't wait.

I am still at a loss to explain why it is that so many people are dying to get from Cuba (and elsewhere) to come here, but none are dying to get from here to there. Also goes for other countries building walls/fences to keep their own people in while we have to build them to try, largely unsuccessfully these days, to keep intruders out.

Do you think the lowering of the flags, however belated, had anything to do with Obama making a speech at the VFW convention?? Surely not.

I live in flyover country, elwood. The liberals can wail, moan and gnash their teeth for all I care.
