John Esposito Explains the "Ignorance and Misinformation" Surrounding Islam

Hat tip Campus Watch

"Gee, Mr Esposito. I didn't know that."

Amid all the killings and intolerance we see in the Islamic world, there is Professor John Esposito of Georgetown University, considered one of the leading apologists in the US. Esposito is the director of the Alwaleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding in Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, named after the Saudi billionaire who tried to give ten million dollars to New York City after 9-11. Rudy Giuliani saw fit to refuse his money after Alwaleed's comments about "US responsibility", but Georgetown happily accepted it. In this article in the Lancaster Online, Esposito explains why it is we who are ignorant about Islam.

What exactly is the "misinformation", Mr Esposito? Is it ISIS, Boko Haram, Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hizbollah, the more than 25,000 terror attacks just since 9-11, the daily massacres, bombings, the persecution of Christians across the Muslim world, the attacks against Jews in Europe, death to "blasphemers" and apostates, etc etc etc.

What is the misinformation? Why is it we who are ignorant, Mr Esposito?

I would suggest that it is not we who are ignorant especially those of us who have taken the time to read the Koran and study the life of Mohammad. The ignorant ones are dopes like the author of this piece who blindly suck up what apologists like Esposito spoon feed them.
