BDS and Anti-Semitism

Hat tip JNS

My friend and colleague, Tammi Benjamin of the AMCHA Initiative has written an important piece in which she shows the international contribution of the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions movement against Israel to anti-Jew hatred.

The BDS leaders and supporters will always tell you that they are not anti-Semitic. The problem is that they desire no less than the total destruction of the Jewish state of Israel. I have encountered their speakers, like Omar Barghouti, on college campuses in California. Barghouti is nothing more than polished liar masquerading as a human rights activist. Born in Qatar, raised in Egypt, he found himself living in the West Bank from where he entered Tel Aviv University, much to the consternation of Israelis who wanted him expelled on the grounds that he was a foreigner being educated in Israel while traveling the world trying to destroy the Jewish state.

Of course, it is a topic Barghouti is uncomfortable dealing with. I have hit him with it both at UC Irvine and UC Riverside. He still has the audacity to say (as he did at UC Riverside) that he had every right to study at a university in "his country".

As for the Students for Justice in Palestine, which is mentioned prominently in Benjamin's article, they are little more than thugs using brown shirt tactics on campuses across the US-also while masquerading as human rights activists. In addition, Benjamin rightfully points out that university administrators have been too cowardly to address the anti-Semitic agitation on their campuses for what it is. It is a national disgrace.

It is way past time that the public start paying attention to what is happening on our college campuses.
