Look for Arizona State University to change their mascot soon. They are actually teaching courses at AZU on the "problem of whiteness".

This is part and parcel of a national wave in academia to focus on "blackness vs whiteness", It's the new racism. That students are now taking classes in which white people are being excoriated can only lead to one end-a further division of the American people. More sadly, it is young people who will be affected. Generally, they are thought to be less race conscious than their parents' generation. How long can that last given this drive in our universities?
Shame on these so-called professors, and shame on AZU.

That's probably the point. These professors' have built their careers on the distinction. If it becomes a distinction without a difference, what will they teach?
The problem with whiteness is that some people continue to choose to think of themselves as "white," and some people who don't fall for the delusion.
