"Vous Avez un Ami"-Not Everybody is France's Friend

Pakistan Charlie Hebdo
Lahore, Pakistan
-International Business Times

If President Obama committed a diplomatic blunder by not going to France for last Sunday's march, he only compounded it by sending John Heinz Kerry to Paris this week to (in Kerry's words) give somebody a hug.

Not only that, Kerry brought along aging rocker James Taylor to serenade Francois Hollande with his 1890s hit, "You've got a friend." How the terrorists must be laughing at us.

But not everybody has become France's friend. Across the Islamic world the usual protests broke out with mobs jumping up and down and pumping their fists in condemnation of Charlie Hebdo and the French in general.

And of course in Pakistan, things got violent.

I think we'd better send Kerry and Taylor to Pakistan to smooth things over. I wonder if Taylor can sing in Urdu.
