Boko Haram's Latest Body Count-2.000

Nigeria massacre jan 12.jpg

As reported I attended an event Friday at the Islamic Center of Orange County held a panel discussion dedicated to telling the audience that the horrors of ISIS have nothing to do with Islam. As is often the case, the q and a session consisted of audience members writing their questions on cards and passing them up to the front for selection. The result was a handful of vanilla questions being selected. In addition, there was no mention of Boko Haram in Nigeria.

Today, we read of the latest atrocities by Boko Haram-two thousand more victims to add to the body count.

I have no idea what the Nigerian army is doing to fight Boko Haram. It seems they are doing very little other than come in after the fact and pick up the pieces. Given the corruption in Nigeria-notorious even by African standards- I guess they are not very motivated to go in there and engage in a real war. Remember when one official announced to the press that they knew where the 200 kidnapped girls-mostly Christian- were being held? Nothing has been done to rescue them.

Meanwhile Boko Haram continues to rampage through northern Nigeria on a regular basis.
