California Teamsters Letter to UAW Local Union 2865 (UC Graduate Student Workers)

Hat tip Pro-Israel Bay Bloggers

As previously reported, the pending vote by a union (UAW 2865) representing 13,000 graduate student workers in the University of California  urging UC to divest from companies doing business from Israel is being opposed by the parent union (UAW). Here is a letter from the California Teamsters, which also represents many UC employees, as well as employees of several companies targeted, reiterating their opposition.

"As you are no doubt aware, the companies that are targeted by the BDS movement include numerous employers that are represented by organized labor, including many thousands who are represented by the Teamsters. Indeed, some of the companies you wish your union to boycott and divest from are represented by the United Auto Workers. In the case of the Teamsters, we represent tens of thousands of employees at the following companies that are listed as targets of the BDS campaign:
General Dynamics
General Electric

Of course, if you think the leaders of the BDS drive care a whit about anyone's jobs, think again because they don't.

The leaders of the BDS drive don't have jobs. Like most of the pointy-headed intellectual faux left, they are wannabees. They don't wanna actually go up against the likes of the Ku Klux Klan, but they don want to FEEL like they are engaged in "struggle." If they want to be taken seriously, they need to spend the next five years 24/7/365 in Watts, Compton, or South Central. Then we'll see what they think it important.
