Remember that old joke about who's the guy standing next to Joe Doakes on the Vatican balcony? Well here is a new rendition that's not so funny. The Pope is in the Holy Land this week; today Jordan, tomorrow Bethlehem, and then Jerusalem. It's who he's meeting in the West Bank that has people wondering, "Who?"

No, they were the ones driven out by the hundreds of thousands in 1948.
Its not either / or Gary. Further, they were the ones who were peacefully living among their Muslim and Christian neighbors until a bunch of European Ashkenazis came pouring into Palestine creating tensions that weren't there before.
I'm not even saying those European Jews had much alternative. I'm just saying, finding the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth is a sticky matter.
