SFSU Faculty Indoctrination Meeting on Middle East

Hat tip Campus Reform and AMCHA Initiative

I have written several articles on the on-going vilification of Israel at San Francisco State University and the letters written to SFSU president Les Wong about threatening rhetoric and images coming out of that campaign of hate against the Jewish stste. On March 6. SFSU professor Rabab Abdulhadi and others held an event in which they reported on their recent trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories.

Two days ago, the AMCHA Initiative sent another letter to Wong pointing out what actually transpired at this event including an audiotape taken by one of the members of the audience (linked in the below-linked letter). It should also be noted that at one point, the aforementioned person was told that she could not record the event. A campus police officer then ordered her to turn off her recorder under threat of arrest.

This is illegal. As has been put to the test at UC Irvine (by myself and others), if it is a public event at a public site public university) people have the legal right under California law to record. This person's rights were violated.

As pointed out in the letter, audience members were subjected to numerous statements by the panelists and presenters that defy credibility. If a person who engages in skyjacking (Leila Khaled) is not a terrorist, I don't know what is. In addition, the other person with whom they met (Sheikh Raed Salah) has clear cut ties to terrorists and Hamas and was, indeed, imprisoned for such by the Israelis. This compares with the infamous 2009 meeting that the Olive Tree Initiative held with West Bank Hamas member Aziz Dweik.

Tel Aviv bombing

“the cry of a baby calling for the attention of the world.” !??!

And what is all this about comparing Israel and the Palestinians with the history of the American Indians? Three thousand years ago, Jerusalem was the capital of Israel. There has always been a Jewish presence in the Middle East. That's a lot more than we can say about the white presence in the US.

This is a real three-ring circus up there at SFSU. It seems that President Wong has no control over his university. Of course, he is hardly the only university head in that category.
