Keep Bringing Those Somali "Refugees" to America

Hat tip Creeping Sharia

Here is the latest update on another "American success story": the Somali refugees.

This is the result of our own efforts to bring in some 80,000 Somalis to the US as refugees by the State Department in the 1990s. Now they are here. Most are not assimilating. Some have gone back to Somalia to hook up with Al Shabaab. Many are forming street gangs in places like Minneapolis. The authorities in Minneapolis still won't tell us what set off that explosion in a Somali family's apartment a few weeks back. Initial claims by the fire chief of a natural gas leak have been discredited.

Stories like this are thanks to our own government's misguided policies.

Name one immigrant group that has NOT formed street gangs, typically the second generation?

Often these are formed by groups with a recognizable ethnicity that differs from that of more established street gangs already in the area. Its as American as apple pie, unfortunately.

El Salvador, although it had a violent civil war going on, had no tradition of urban street gangs until thousands of refugees came to the USA, and were hit by the gangs already in Los Angeles. They formed gangs in emulation and self defense, then brought the entire notion back home after the war.

And no, it didn't start with blacks or Hispanics. Unemployed 'mericans formed most of the "gangs of New York" back in the 1830s, and then the Irish followed. There were even Jewish gangs, and of course the Italians.

Japanese Americans.

I do believe you are correct. We must send Japanese American missionaries to Minneapolis to teach the Somali youth how to behave.

How about having Somali parents, teachers, and "leaders" (if there are any) teach Somali youths how to behave??

Now there's an idea!

Maybe they already do that elwood. There weren't any delinquents within a five mile radius of your house when you were growing up? Some of them in spite of their parents' best efforts?

There ARE gangs in Japan. I wonder why they weren't transplanted here?
