The Godmother Part 3

Part 3

Walter Reed Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland

A tall, smartly-dressed man walks into the entrance of the hospital and presents his ID to the guard. The guard makes a call and then issues a pass to the lawyer. Another guard approaches and motions the lawyer to follow him. A long walk ensues through several hallways until they reach another guard post. The guard looks at the lawyer's pass and opens the door. The lawyer walks through and stops at the second door on the left. He enters and is greeted by a man holding a walking cane in the small patient room.

"I hear you had a rough go of it over in Libya, Frankie."

" Yeah. The docs say I'll be up and around in a few months. How are you, Tom?"

"Doing well, Frankie. The Godmother sends her regards."

"Yeah. I heard she was retired-at least for a while."

"Just laying low for awhile until the heat dies down."

The two men walk through the back door into the garden area of the hospital. Another guard walks a discreet distance behind.

"I guess that's why you're here, eh Tom?"

"Yeah, Frankie", the lawyer answers. "That's why I'm here."

"What should I do, Tom?"

Tom lights a cigar, takes a deep drag, and answers.

"Frankie. You're a history buff. You remember the story about that gal who claimed she had a sexual relationship with Bill Clinton in the Oval Office?"

"Yeah", Frankie laughed. "Who could forget about that?"

Tom continued, "You remember all the testimony, the hearings, the impeachment stuff. In the end, none of it mattered. In the end, nothing happened to Clinton, and life went on as before. The only people who got hurt were the ones who tried to fight the system. Those that played ball went on as if nothing had happened. The only ones who lost their jobs were the ones that tried to buck the system."

"Yeah. You're right, Tom."

The two shook hands.

"Don't worry about a thing, Frankie."

"Thanks, Tom."

The lawyer turned and left.

Obama on Benghazigate: I Don't Know What You Are Referring to

Hat tip Hot Air

This reminds me of what then-President Bill Clinton told reporter Jim Lehrer when asked if rumors were true that he was having sex with an intern named Monica Lewinsky:

"Look. You know as much about this as I do right now. We'll just have to look into it and cooperate, and we'll see. But meanwhile, I've got to go on with the work of the country. I got hired to help the rest of the American people."

Hot Air has a video of the President being asked today by Fox's Ed Henry about the Fox report that Benghazi survivors have been threatened if they talk.

http://hotair.com/archives/2013/04/30/obama-huh-im-not-familiar-with-benghazi-whistleblowers-being-threatened/

Well, it could be argued that there is nothing about this story on CNN, ABC, CBS, or NBC, and since he doesn't watch Fox News, how could he possibly know that State Department/CIA survivors of Benghazi have allegedly been threatened by the White House to keep their mouths shut.

Rubbish.

This is the most corrupt administration in the history of this country, and it is being aided and abetted by a compliant news media-with the notable exception of Fox News.

But Obama will find out what Ed Henry is referring to once his team gets back to him.

Zaytuna College Gets Rave Reviews From New York Times

Hat tip Frontpage Magazine

The New York Times, as they always do, has put out a politically-correct article on the Islamic Zaytuna College in Berkeley.  Ryan Mauro, writing in Frontpage Magazine, has a more accurate description of Zaytuna and its radical founders.

http://frontpagemag.com/2013/ryan-mauro/new-york-times-whitewashes-islamist-zaytuna-college/

Of course, to our great embarrassment, Hatem Bazian is a professor at UC Berkeley, from which he strives to destroy the state of Israel with his speeches around the country and boring power point presentations.

Hatem Bazian

Of course, Bazian is hardly the Lone Ranger up at Beserkley. In fact, he is just another face in the crowd, a dime a dozen, if you will.

Another Wacky Professor Alert

Hat tip Daily Caller

"The best family system is diversity"

Meet NYU Judith Stacey, professor of social and cultural analysis......

....whatever that is. In a debate reported by Daily Caller (video and all), Stacey argues against the idea of the nuclear family, monogamy and probably baseball as  well.

http://dailycaller.com/2013/04/30/nyu-professor-argues-against-nuclear-family-monogamy-anti-polygamy-laws/

Did Professor Stacey ever learn in all her years of research that the institution of marriage has existed for 5,000 years largely for the sake of children? Maybe she thinks kids would be better off raised by a pack of wolves.

Why is it that everywhere you look these whack job professors are populating our universities like weeds? Are you getting the impression that our universities are nothing more than lunatic asylums?

Don't answer that.

Benghazi: A Fox News Interview

Fox News has interviewed a special ops source who insists that we had forces in Croatia who could have responded to the Benghazi attack.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/04/30/special-ops-benghazi-whistleblower-tells-fox-news-government-could-have/

I welcome the man coming forward, but until he steps out of the shadows, attaches his name to this video, and gives sworn testimony, it can be dismissed by the Obama defenders as just another anonymous source.

We have whistleblower laws in place. It is time to use them.

Belgium: Assimilation in Reverse

Hat tip Vlad Tepes and Gatestone Institute

As the old saying goes, "When in Rome, make the Romans do as we do."

That what Belgium has decided, at least in the French-speaking Wallonia region of the south, where they are changing the names of their religious holidays so as "not to offend others". Soeren Kern has the report for the Gatestone Institute. You will not believe this.

UC Irvine in Turmoil Over Video

Hat tip New University

A few days ago, I reported that the UC Irvine campus is experiencing a problem with a video produced by some students in a campus fraternity showing characters in blackface.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2013/04/controversy-at-uc-irvine-over-blackface.html

Below is a link to the UCI campus paper, New University, with several articles/op-ed's regarding the incident. The report of the controversy is on page 1. On page 9, there are three articles. One is a public apology by the fraternity (Lambda Theta Delta). Another is by a student, and the third is an open letter from the Black Student Union.

http://bluetoad.com/publication/?m=17734&l=1

As I remarked before, "blackface" is something from a by-gone era-the earlier part of the 20th century, when it was part of comedy and musical plays. No question it is offensive. In this case, the students who created the offense are Asian-American, as are at least half of the students at UCI. They are deeply sorry and apologetic. Whether they knew of the history of blackface, I don't know. At any rate, they sure do now. I am sure they will not make that mistake again.

I have been on the UCI campus since 1998, and I have never witnessed any expression of racism coming from our Asian-American students. They have made this campus a pleasant place to work in my view. This incident is unfortunate, but I think had they truly known the history of blackface, they would have been more sensitive.

I can only hope that in the future, this university will pay as much attention to the anti-Jewish acts and words that have visited this campus in the form of people like Mohammed al Asi, who in 2001, told a UCI audience, "You can take the Jew out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the Jew". Or the words of Abdul Alim Musa in 2006 when he told an audience at UCI that his religion was going to take over the US; "We want it all", he said then added, "but you Christians and Jews need not worry...." Or the words of  Amir Abdel Malik Ali, who virtually every May comes to UCI and points out "Zionist Jews", celebrates suicide bombers in Israel, and tells Jews in the audience that "We will defeat you" and "You Jews; Y'all the new Nazis". (In 2010, after the last statement, in which Ali also expressed support for Hamas, Hizbollah and Islamic Jihad, Chancellor Michael Drake finally issued a statement. (Talk about a who dun what, when, where, and why!)

When UC San Diego was in turmoil over the "Compton Cookout" and  a noose was found in their library in 2010, the head of the UCI Cross Cultural Center issued a campus wide statement expressing his concern for the welfare of students on the UCI campus. That was well and good, but when I sent him a letter suggesting he show similar concern for Jewish students at UCI who were experiencing anti-Semitism, I never received an answer.

Here's hoping the African-American and Asian-American students work it out. I think they will.

James Clapper Wants to Know What the Hell is Happening

Apparently, our national security chief, James Clapper, has now been advised that there was a bombing in Boston on April 15. He has ordered a review of the case to see if anything fell through the cracks as to the Brothers Tsarnaev.

Well Duh.

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/04/30/17984668-us-intelligence-chief-orders-review-of-boston-marathon-case?lite

I expect Mr Clapper will be informed that we had a Muslim Chechen family from Daghestan living in Boston on welfare, while the elder brother was beating up his girlfriend, and the mother was being arrested on shoplifting charges, and the Russians were warning us multiple times about Tamarlan being a radical Islamist, and the family returning to the country they had supposedly fled from and came here for political asylum from persecution, while Tamarlan went back to visit them for 6 months, and nobody knew even though his name was on a no-fly list, but the FBI checked him out and said he was OK.

There, Mr Clapper. There is your review. All you have to do now is put a cover summary on it and say that everything possible was done to protect the American people from people who come to the US to set off bombs and kill us.

Eric Holder's Speech Before the Anti-Defamation Leauge

There is a lot of controversy over Attorney General Eric Holder's speech yesterday before the Anti-Defamation League. Much of his speech was devoting to warning that his department will crack down on any backlash against Muslims in the wake of the Boston bombing. Here is the complete text of his speech as released by the Justice  Department.

http://www.justice.gov/iso/opa/ag/speeches/2013/ag-speech-130429.html

Just one problem, Mr Holder; there has been no backlash. CAIR in Boston reported that an unidentified man allegedly shouted slurs at a Muslim woman after the attack, but there have been no documented cases of assault or mosque vandalism since the attack. (Yes, I do question the veracity of any statement that comes out of CAIR.)

Holder could have dwelled on the statistics which show a dramatic increase in anti-Semitic incidents-numbers that dwarf any anti-Muslim incidents.

By all means, Justice should prosecute any hate crimes against Muslims that might arise. That does not include cracking down on free speech as Americans exercise their right to discuss why Muslims would carry out such acts. Those are legitimate points of discussion.

Duke Raises Student Fees to Cover Sex-Change

Hat tip Campus Reform

Disclaimer: Today is the last day of April-not the first.

If you are a parent with a kid attending Duke and you are wondering why the fees have gone up, here is the answer. Sex change insurance coverage.

And Duke isn't the only one. Thirty-seven universities including Yale and Brown are going down the same road.

What is Deval Patrick Hiding in Massachusetts?

Deval Patrick, for all you UC Santa Cruz (America's Wackiest University) history of consciousness and community studies majors, is the horrible governor of Massachusetts. The Boston bombing has put him in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Not only is a he patron of the two Islamic centers in Cambridge and Roxbury linked to the bombers (and several other extremists), but now it has been revealed that the Tsarnaev family was receiving welfare benefits from the state-some $100,000..

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/04/30/boston-bombing-suspects-family-reportedly-received-100g-from-taxpayers/

However Patrick will not reveal the records-citing privacy matters.

Really? So the tax-payers of the state are not entitled to know how their money is being handled? It is their money that is at question here.

Privacy. One recipient is dead, the other charged with terrorist murder, and the parents are back in that horrific place they fled and were given refuge from. The mother is even on the terror watch list.

Privacy.  Patrick's privacy.

Tamarlan Tsarnaev's Ex Girlfriend Tells Her Story

The Sun (UK) has published the story of Tamarlan Tsarnaev's American ex-girlfriend prior to his marriage to Katherine Russell. It is a tale of abuse.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4906994/my-boyfriend-the-bomber.html

I note a trend that in certain issues, you can get more news from foreign news outlets than our own American outlets even when the story is in the US. Why do you think that is? Political correctness, perhaps?

Benghazi: Here Come the Witnesses

It looks like it is starting to unravel for the Obama administration's Benghazi coverup.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/04/29/obama-administration-officials-have-threatened-whistle-blowers-on-benghazi/

You can watch a Fox News video report here.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/2338450652001/

As of 6 pm PST, there is nothing about this on NBC's website. Nor on CNN, CBS or ABC. Now do you understand why so many on the left want to get Fox News off the air?

There are some 20-30 survivors of the Benghazi incident, who heretofore have not been heard from. How many can they call "liars"?

More to follow.

*Update: As of 11:20 PST on April 30, I still find no mention of this news on CNN, ABC, CBS, or NBC.

Dartmouth: How to Shut Down an Ivy League University

Hat tip Daily Caller

What a bunch of weenies must be running Dartmouth College.

http://dailycaller.com/2013/04/25/old-dartmouth-classes-new-dartmouth-civility-teach-ins/

So a group of dopey students decide to disrupt a presentation on campus to tell the new students that Dartmouth is a racist, homophobic, sexist hell hole where sex assaults are common place. Then some others react angrily online about it, and............

Eric Holder: Amnesty, Path to Citizenship Are Civil and Human Rights

Eric Holder never ceases to amaze me. On April 24, he made these statements in front of a pro-amnesty crowd. He stated that a pathway to citizenship and amnesty are civil and human rights.

http://nation.foxnews.com/amnesty/2013/04/26/holder-calls-amnesty-civil-right

"Creating a pathway to earned citizenship for the 11 million unauthorized immigrants in this country is essential. The way we treat our friends and neighbors who are undocumented – by creating a mechanism for them to earn citizenship and move out of the shadows – transcends the issue of immigration status. This is a matter of civil and human rights. It is about who we are as a nation. And it goes to the core of our treasured American principle of equal opportunity."

As I have said before, it is highly presumptuous to assume that all of the 11 million people here in this country even desire to change their citizenship. Of course, the Democrats are eager to make as many of them citizens as possible because the overwhelming majority would register as Democrats.

There can and should be a humane way of dealing with the non-criminals who are here-after we secure the border, which the Democrats have no intention of doing. If the 11 million grow to 25 million in the next decade or so, that's great for them. They will be clamoring for amnesty for the next wave. We have already seen this play out (1986).

As for civil and human rights, that is absurd. When you enter another country illegally or remain past your visa, you have no right to remain. You have a right to be treated in a humane and lawful manner by police, but the only other right you have is to return to your home country.

So if I enter another country, say Germany, or overstay my visa or allowed time illegally, I have a civil and human right to be able to come out of the shadows and obtain German citizenship?

What about the rights of the United States of America, Mr Attorney General, to remain sovereign and control who comes into our country? That is a right you should be enforcing.

Michael "Mikey" Weinstein Bolstering our National Defense

You can't make this stuff up, Folks.

"I founded the civil rights fighting organization the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) to do one thing: fight those monsters who would tear down the Constitutionally-mandated wall separating church and state in the technologically most lethal entity ever created by humankind, the U.S. military."

But here is the good news. "Mikey" has just been appointed as a consultant on religious tolerance to Chuck Hagel's Pentagon.

Nigel Farage Whacks the EU Over its Bank Grab

Another Obnoxious Brit Blames the US for the Boston Bombing

Hat tip Jihad Watch and MEMRI TV

"What would Neville do?"

If I see encounter one more dopey Brit blaming the US for all the world's problems, I swear I will publicly declare myself an Anglophobe. Just kidding, but ex-London mayor Ken Livingstone is truly an odious and obnoxious character-almost on the level of British comedian George Galloway. Here he is on Iran's English-language Press TV (I thought they had been banned in the UK) laying the blame for the Boston bombings not on the poor lads who carried it out, but on the US and the West, be jeezus.

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2013/04/former-london-mayor-blames-us-for-boston-jihad-bombings.html

By the way, is the UK still part of the West? Maybe Livingstone should pay more attention to the rot in his own country.

Another Textbook Controversy -Tennessee

Book cover
"If a Palestinian suicide bomber kills several dozen Israeli teenagers in a Jerusalem restaurant, is that an act of terrorism, or wartime retaliation against Israeli government policies and army actions?"

Williamson County, Tennessee is embroiled in a textbook controversy as presented by this Fox interview with Laurie Cardoza-Moore. This is disturbing.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/2335574399001/

In the interest of full disclosure, I have had the pleasure of meeting and having lunch with Ms Cardoza-Moore and her husband in Irvine. She is the founder of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations, dedicated to Christian supporting Jews against anti-Semitism.

Do not think that it is an accident that Tennessee, of all places, should be having problems with propagandist textbooks like these. According to Islamist expert Bill Warner, also a Tennessean, as the center of the Bible belt, the Islamists have targeted Tennessee for their expansion-witness the controversial mega-mosque in Murfreesboro. So the thinking goes, if they can gain a foothold in Tennessee, everywhere else will be easy, according to Warner.

If you wish to lend your support, the contact information for the school authorities is in the video.

Another Boo-Boo by Candy Crowley

Hat tip Joe, MRC, News Busters, and The Blaze

Is CNN's Candy Crowley an Islamophobe?

Poor Candy Crowley. It seems she made a serious violation of the speech code as she was leading a CNN panel on the topic of the Boston bombers. The Blaze (via Newsbusters)  has a video clip of Candy saying, "Islamic videos"-then apologizing and substituting the word,"terrorist videos" in referring to the postings of Tamarlan Tsarnaev.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/04/28/cnns-candy-crowley-interrupts-herself-apologizes-for-saying-boston-suspect-posted-islamic-videos/

What a pity the bombers weren't tax-protesters or anti-government militia, right Candy?

I sincerely hope Candy will not be disciplined by CNN for her "faux pas".

The Salafist Threat in Germany

Hat tip Vlad Tepes

The below report is by the Russian news outlet, Russia Today and reports on the growing threat of Salafist Muslim extremists in Germany. It features a German politician who is living under a death threat.

http://vladtepesblog.com/?p=63149

Here is a supplemental report on the situation by New Media Journal.

http://newmediajournal.us/indx.php/item/5224

There are so many similarities between the Nazi movement in Germany in the 1920s and what is happening today. What the Salafists are preaching is more than religion. It is a political ideology of fascist totalitarianism. One can only hope that Germany can put this down before it plunges the country into another dreadful chapter.

A German City Remembers the Burning of the Books

The university city of Erlangen (a few kilometers north of Nuremberg) is commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Nazi book-burnings, which took place on May 10, 1933. (Erlangen's took place on May 12 because another ceremony was scheduled at the designated site on May 10.)

http://www.nordbayern.de/region/erlangen/verboten-verfolgt-als-in-erlangen-die-bucher-brannten-1.2862031

The various German universities took the lead in the book burnings, and as a university city, Erlangen students also participated.

I researched the incident when I was writing my book on the history of Erlangen. I received assistance not only from the Erlangen city archives, but from the Holocaust Museum in Washington as well as they had documentation on the event.

The evening began with a procession of two horse-drawn carts carrying the seized literature that wound through several streets before arriving at the Schlossplatz (the square in front of the former margravial palace). There were several speeches, the playing of the Horst Wessel song, and then the books were thrown into the fire.

It should be mentioned that there was a good figure in this incident in the person of Eugen Stollreither, the university librarian. He publicly condemned the action.  The books taken from the university library were taken out without his permission, and he managed to conceal several himself. An effort was made to remove him by the Gauleiter of Franconia, Julius Streicher and his newspaper, Der Stuermer,  but the university stood by him. He remained at his post for the remainder of the Third Reich. In addition, the Krische University book store managed to conceal and save many targeted books in storage bales covered with soot.

In 1987, on the anniversary of the event, the city laid a plaque into the pavement in front of the Schlossplatz that read, "Hier wurden 1933 Buecher verbrannt" ("In 1933, books were burned here"). It is still there.

The Religious Situation in Egypt

Hat tip Modern Tokyo Times

Murad Makhmudov and Lee Jay Walker have a compelling article on the situation in Egypt in the Modern Tokyo Times. Hopefully, someone in Washington will read it.

http://moderntokyotimes.com/2013/04/27/egypt-and-persecution-of-christians-usa-muslim-brotherhood-and-islamic-sharia-law/

Have you read this, Mr Kerry?

I guess not.

More Academic Insanity out of UCLA

"THE alleged involvement of two ethnic Chechen brothers in the deadly attack at the Boston Marathon last week should prompt Americans to reflect on whether we do an adequate job assimilating immigrants who arrive in the United States as children or teenagers."

I have read and heard a lot of foolish statements about the Boston bombing brothers, Tamarlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in the past two weeks, but this op-ed in the New York Times by Marcelo and Carola Suarez-Orozco is right up near the top. Marcelo is the Dean of the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies and Carola is a professor. Their thesis is that America needs to do a better job of assimilating our immigrants. See if you can get through this without gagging.

 http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/23/opinion/immigrant-kids-adrift.html?_r=0

Yes, folks. Once again, it is our fault.

I am perfectly willing to acknowledge that young immigrants coming from strife-torn countries tend to be traumatized and this may affect how they do in their new country. Salvadorans and Cambodians are two examples I have observed myself living in the Washington DC and Southern California areas..

I also note that the quoted 1997 study did not include immigrants from Muslim countries. What kind of research is that, Dean and Professor Suarez-Orozco?

"They were not part of our study, but they fit the demographic profile of the subjects of our research: birth to families displaced by war or strife, multiple-stage (including back-and-forth) migration, language difficulties and entry into harsh urban environments where gangs and crime are temptations."

They have overlooked one other factor-Islam. Or have they?

"Among some of the distinctive features of their case are family estrangement, multiple relocations across countries and, possibly, religious radicalization."

Possibly.

And how are we supposed to effectively assimilate immigrants when all the liberal intelligentsia in academia are so busy celebrating multi-culturalism while denigrating Western culture and trashing America to their students?

"Taking in what Emma Lazarus called the “wretched refuse,” including asylum seekers like the Tsarnaev brothers, without providing a scaffold of support undermines the promise of America."

Hopefully, Dzhokhar Tsarbaev will be provided that "scaffold' soon.

US Labor Department Spending Money to Establish Unions Overseas

"Sequester? What sequester?"

Here's a question for all you UC Santa Cruz Community Studies and History of Consciousness majors:

In such tight economic times, and with a sequester in effect, should the government be spending millions of dollars in tax-payer money to establish unions and promote collective bargaining-in other countries?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/04/28/senate-republicans-ask-labor-depart-about-purportedly-paying-for-labor-unions/?test=latestnews

Explain this one to me, if you can.

Obama, Planned Parenthood, and Dr. Kermit Gosnell

Viewer warning: Graphic pictures below

Hat tip Daily Caller

An American president speaking before the nation's largest abortion advocate organization and saying, "Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you, God bless you."

 http://dailycaller.com/2013/04/26/obama-first-sitting-president-to-address-planned-parenthood/

Is President Obama aware that the founder of Planned Parenthood's predecessor organization, Margaret Sanger, was a eugenics enthusiast and racist who wanted to cut down on the number of African-American births in America? (She has succeeded.) Here below are two slightly different accounts of Sanger, one by Wikipedia, which downplays Sanger's racial motivations, and the other by Pastor Clenard Childress Jr., who  stresses them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Sanger

http://www.blackgenocide.org/sanger.html

Is President Obama aware of the on-going trial of an abortion doctor in Philadelphia who is on trial for murder after carrying out God only knows how many late term abortions and killing fetuses who were born alive and lying on the delivery table struggling for breath, or in one case, trying to swim out of a toilet in which he or she was born?

Mr President, meet Dr Kermit Gosnell. If you readers don't know Dr Gosnell, it is because the mainstream news media doesn't want to cover his story.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kermit_Gosnell

"When the team members entered the clinic, they were appalled, describing it to the Grand Jury as 'filthy,' 'deplorable,' 'disgusting,' 'very unsanitary, very outdated, horrendous,' and 'by far, the worst' that these experienced investigators had ever encountered. There was blood on the floor. A stench of urine filled the air. A flea-infested cat was wandering through the facility, and there were cat feces on the stairs. Semi-conscious women scheduled for abortions were moaning in the waiting room or the recovery room, where they sat on dirty recliners covered with blood-stained blankets. All the women had been sedated by unlicensed staff – long before Gosnell arrived at the clinic – and staff members could not accurately state what medications or dosages they had administered to the waiting patients. Many of the medications in inventory were past their expiration dates ... surgical procedure rooms were filthy and unsanitary ... resembling 'a bad gas station restroom.' Instruments were not sterile. Equipment was rusty and outdated. Oxygen equipment was covered with dust, and had not been inspected. The same corroded suction tubing used for abortions was the only tubing available for oral airways if assistance for breathing was needed..."[1]:20-21

"[F]etal remains [were] haphazardly stored throughout the clinic– in bags, milk jugs, orange juice cartons, and even in cat-food containers ... Gosnell admitted to Detective Wood that at least 10 to 20 percent ... were probably older than 24 weeks [the legal limit] ... In some instances, surgical incisions had been made at the base of the fetal skulls. The investigators found a row of jars containing just the severed feet of fetuses. In the basement, they discovered medical waste piled high. The intact 19-week fetus delivered by Mrs. Mongar three months earlier was in a freezer. In all, the remains of 45 fetuses were recovered ... at least two of them, and probably three, had been viable."

The seven other murder charges are all of first degree murder; they relate to babies, whom staff have testified they saw move or cry after complete birth, and whose deaths are alleged to have resulted from subsequent lethal action. They arise because of the "born alive rule", a principle of common law which stipulates that by default, for legal purposes, personhood arises - and therefore unlawful killing constituting murder becomes possible - immediately upon the victim's being born alive. (Several US states as well as Federal legislation have more specific laws to protect fetuses and newborn babies, see fetal rights and born alive laws in the United States). Steven Massof, a clinic employee who pleaded guilty to similar charges in 2011, testified that he (Massof) had snipped the spines of more than 100 babies after they had been born alive, and that this was considered "standard procedure" at the clinic; a number of other employees had also testified to the same point.[4] No physical evidence exists for five of the seven cases — charges are based on staff testimony and denied by Gosnell. A photograph exists of the sixth, who allegedly had a gestational age of 30 weeks, and the physical remains were obtained of the seventh.[30] The Grand Jury report states that, "A medical expert with 43 years of experience in performing abortions was appalled. This expert told us, 'I’ve never heard of it [cutting the spinal cord] being done during an abortion'."[1]:223

Illinois State Senator Obama voted three times against criminalizing the killing of born babies in his state.
To be fair, I will link the somewhat foggy Fact Check post on this issue.

Many would argue that this nation lost its soul when we passed Roe v Wade.

Many others vehemently disagree. It is an emotion-laden issue that has been front
and center for decades. But when and where did we decide that it was
also fine to go into a woman's womb and butcher a  viable baby that was
weeks if not days from birth? When did we decide that it was OK to kill
said baby if, somehow, it survived the abortion process and was lying alive
on the table ? At what point is it a mother's choice to kill her child? When it
is still in the womb? When it is hours old? When it is a year old?

Is this our country? Talk about a slippery slope.

Richard Falk Will Keep His Position in UN After Blaming US for Boston Bombing

Richard Falk - Does this man ever brush his teeth?

Nobody expected the UN to dump Richard Falk after his outrageous statement blaming his own country (US) for the Boston bombing. So nobody is surprised that he will not be canned as special rapporteur.

 http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/04/27/un-official-will-keep-post-despite-controversial-comments-about-boston-bombings/?test=latestnews

He has Ban Ki Moon's seal of approval.

From Boston to Miami-Another Bomb Plot

From the Brothers Tsarnaev to the Brothers Qazi

No Bail for South Florida Man in Alleged Terror Plot

There must be some mistake. They are both naturalized American citizens.

Yes, that does seem to be a trend, doesn't it?

http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/No-Bail-for-South-Florida-Man-in-Alleged-Terror-Plot-204405531.html

I guess we should not assume that just because somebody gets US citizenship that they love this country.

MSU Hate Week is Back at UC Irvine

Mark your calendars Israel-haters. The circus is coming back to UC Irvine in the form of the annual anti-Israel hate week featured by the Muslim Student Union. For four whole days we can take our minds off the civil war in Syria, the persecution of Copts in Egypt, the persecution of Baha'i and gays in Iran-not to mention those nuclear weapons they are working on- the persecution of Christians and Ahmadi Muslims in Pakistan and the suicide bombings and killing of Christians in Pakistan, Iraq, Nigeria, and Afghanistan. Did I mention the latest terrorist bombing in Boston? You won't hear a peep about all that. No, put all that aside because, as anybody on any college campus knows, the real problem is Israel.

I must say it is sort of a disappointing lineup this year. We will not have the pleasure of Amir Abdel Malik Ali telling us who all the Zionist Jews are. In fact, except for one speaker, I never heard of any of these folks. Suffice to say, we have a couple of peace activists,  one of whom is Israeli, a couple of professors, and a guy who thinks Hamas firing rockets into Israel is legitimate resistance.

On Monday at noon, there is no listed speaker. It is simply called, "The Struggle has no Borders".

Perhaps, they will bring in a couple of dancing bears.

(Dancing bears)

Here are the "distinguished" speakers:

Sahar Francis' life mission is getting the Israelis to free all those terrorist Palestinians locked up by the Israelis.

http://electronicintifada.net/tags/sahar-francis

Miko Peled is an Israeli and son of some general. He will be this year's showcase Jewish speaker.

http://thegeneralsson.com/

Osama Abdurshaid of American Muslims for Palestine is mentioned in this article by the Investigative Project on Terrorism, which interestingly shows a connection between Students for Justice in Palestine and J Street, that supposedly pro-Israel organization (funded by George Soros).

http://www.investigativeproject.org/3313/sjp-dialogue-goes-nowhere

"During the same event, AMP board member Osama Abu Irshaid argued that launching rockets from Gaza into Israel cities should be legal. "So instead of blaming the victim, we should look at the criminal and the murderer. And instead of blaming the victim that even though if they're firing rockets, regardless, now this is according to the international law should be a legitimate resistance, because they are under occupation."
In his speech, Abu Irshaid referred to "the resistance," describing – but never naming – the terrorist organization Hamas."

Aayed Fatayerji is a recent UCI grad who at the time of the "Irvine 11" disruption of the Israeli ambassador's speech thought the disruptors should have been heard and given equal billing with the ambassador-or some such rot.
http://www.newuniversity.org/2010/02/news/israel-interrupted-in-irvine/

“I wish the hecklers were given a better stage to speak,” fourth-year biological sciences major Aayah Fatayerji said. “I wish there was a stage for both perspectives to be shared equally with equal support from Admin.”
Fatayerji stated that it was the responsibility of the University to have unbiased sponsorship due to the event’s support by the Law and Political Science departments.

So she will be speaking in an "unbiased" forum.

Robin Kelley is a UCLA professor who in 2012, joined four other professors on a trip to the West Bank and East Jerusalem sponsored by the US Campaign for Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel and came back and reported  that he had never seen such a level of racist violence.

http://mondoweiss.net/2012/02/a-level-of-racist-violence-i-have-never-seen-ucla-professor-robin-d-g-kelley-on-palestine-and-the-bds-movement.html

I wonder if he was a witness to the Fogel massacre in Itamar.

Then we have Sohail Daulatzai, who has previously spoken at UCI.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2013/01/muslim-awareness-week-at-uc-irvine-2013_26.html

http://www.thenation.com/blog/173966/lets-not-normalize-thing-called-terrorism-conversation-sohail-daulatzai#

So that's it. I should mention that Daniel Pipes will be appearing at UCI on the evening of the 8th just down the hall from the MSU evening event. That should be interesting.

Random Shots in the Dark (41)

As MSNBC's Butter and egg man, Ed Schultz might say, "Let's get to work". There's a lot of sh-- out there to shovel.

"I don't think that's funny."

(How's that Saturday gig goin' for ya, Ed?)

Why not start with that esteemed "independent scholar with a PhD from Princeton", Norman Finkelstein, who has progressed from Princeton to DePaul (where he was unceremoniously canned) to Cerritos Community College in Norwalk, California where he spoke this week to a full school food court that was half full when he finished.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2013/04/norman-finkelstein-at-cerritos-college.html

As reported above, I used the occasion to renew my 4-year-old question to him about those 2009 protests across the country in which anti-Jewish slurs were shouted out about ovens and Hitler. I pretty much got the same answer as 4 years ago; he didn't know nuttin' about it-even though they are readily available on YouTube. Here's the kicker: This guy, who calls himself a researcher, has had 4 years to check up on my charges and has somehow failed to do so. Chalk it up to a lack of intellectual curiosity, I guess.

"I don't think that's funny."

Speaking of the independent scholar with a PhD from Princeton, the group that gave him that title, the Muslim Student Union of UC Irvine will be annoying the campus again the week of May 6-9 with their annual hate fest. If you are wondering what they will be talking about, no, it won't be the on-going carnage in Syria, nor the persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, nor the suicide bombings in Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, nor will it be about the Boston bombing-unless of course, one of their speakers plans to blame it on our government or Israel, which is very possible. No, all the talk will be about Israel. As yet, the headline speakers haven't been named yet, but you can bet one of them will be Amir Abdel Malik Ali, who, no doubt, will lead us in the playing of "Name that Zionist Jew". Hopefully, the people he names this year will at least be Jewish.

"I don't think that's funny."

Speaking of the  Boston bombing, the Dems in Congress are telling us that we should not let this get in the way of immigration reform. Of course not. We clearly need to reform a system that lets in Chechens  from Dagestan who claim political asylum, yet go back to visit the land of their persecution, while the Russians warn us multiple times that one of the sons is connected to terrorist elements, and the mother is arrested for shoplifting, skips out and is placed on a terrorist watch list as well as a do not fly list, while the brother comes back to the US and prepares his bombs. We need to give these people a pathway to citizenship.

Speaking of illegal aliens, I am hoping that the MSU at UCI will bring back the most famous illegal alien of them all, British journalist Yvonne Ridley. She's the babe who became the first illegal alien in the history of Afghanistan, when she crossed the border after the US invasion looking for work and disguised as a 1958 Cadillac.

"I don't think that's funny."

Of course, Yvonne was quickly apprehended by the Afghan Border Patrol aka the Taliban. But there was a happy ending as Yvonne eventually found her own pathway to citizenship. Naturally, she had to go back to her own country and get in line, which she dutifully did, converting to Islam and finding employment with Iran's Press TV along with British comedian George Galloway.

Meanwhile, back in the once and future colonies, Hillary Clinton had a bad week this week. Seems her claims of never getting any memo about requests for more security in Benghazi were contradicted by an email with her signature acknowledging the request, but insisting the cuts continue. If true, that means both her and her erstwhile husband have been caught lying under oath. But as a great woman said once, "What difference at this point does it make?"

"I don't think that's funny."

Also a bad week for Janet Napolitano (Every week is a bad week for her.) She had a hard time explaining how the Brothers Tsarnaev were able to fool the DHS watch list system so easily. She couldn't even answer a congressman's questions about the mysterious Saudi who was in a Boston hospital after the bombing, was cleared of wrongdoing, visited by the Saudi consul general of Boston, but ordered deported on national security grounds, then not ordered deported, so she refused to answer the question. That's Janet.

As for MSNBC's one-man Vaudeville act, Chris Matthews, it was just another typical week in the barrel as he made a fool of himself every afternoon on his show, "Hardball", "Screwball", or whatever it's called. He was just one of many who were predicting that the Boston attackers just had to be anti-taxers or right-wing haters of some sort. Sadly for Chris, the Brothers Tsarnaev ruined it all for him, so he then switched to "What difference does it make why they did it?"

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2013/04/chris-matthews-what-difference-does-it.html

"Chris Matthews, you've got a weak show."

"I don't think that's funny."

Well, this doesn't even begin to clear away the compost, but speaking of that, I'll close with what has to be the greatest headline since "Dewey Defeats Truman" That honor goes to the Washington (Com)Post.

Now that's funny.
