Brown University Lives up to its Name

Even before Adolf Hitler took power in Germany, the University of Erlangen became known as 'the brown university" when it became the first in Germany whose student government was dominated by Nazis. Of course, we have a Brown University in the US with capital letters. It is located in Rhode Island. When New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly came to speak at Brown Tuesday, the reaction was one you would see at a brown university.

So the question now is how will the university discipline the hecklers who took away Kelly's right of free speech and the right of the audience to hear what he had to say. The article does not indicate any arrests or removal from the hall. Why not? When students disrupted the speech of the Israeli ambassador to the US at UC Irvine in 2010, they were removed from the hall, arrested, charged, prosecuted and convicted. That seem appropriate in this case as well.
