Obama Says He Was Taken "Out of Context"

Hat tip PJ Media

The Obama campaign is having a hard time dealing with the president's comment in Roanoke last week telling business owners, "You didn't build that". Now Obama has come out with an ad claiming he was taken out of context. PJ Media examines what he said.

"There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.)
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet." (Roanoke).

Ad:

OBAMA: "What I said was, we need to stand behind them, as America always has, by investing in education and training, roads and bridges."

"That's not what I said."

What I don't get is how Elizabeth "Little White Dove"Warren plays into this. What line did Obama steal from her-something about being 1/32nd Cherokee?

(Note the high cheekbones)

He could always play that Anna Wintour ad, I guess.

"Very funny."

Yup, another Democrat who should have had me write their speech. Look to the Republican platform of 1860, the first time the party claimed the White House and a congressional majority. Farmers and small business owners across the midwest were clamouring for the federal government to get more infrastructure built so they could get their goods to expanded markets. That's what President Obama is talking about. Without bold action on infrastructure, business doesn't go anywhere, no matter what the initiative of the entrepreneurs is.
