Random Shots in the Dark (37)

We begin this latest edition of RSitD in Cartagena, Colombia, where President Obama is attending some useless conference. It seems that the Secret Service advance team were cavorting with some damas de la noche in their hotel and got caught. As the song says, "It's still the same old story.....one of the hookers didn't get paid and went to the cops who took her to the consulate. Twelve agents and 5 military colleagues were involved in two separate incidents as a matter of fact. This all happened on Wednesday. On Thursday, the agents were sent back to DC, and on Friday, Obama arrived.

We have been assured by the Secret Service and the White House that the security of the president and the integrity of the presidency are not  in any danger. (I can't wait to hear Dick Morris' expert comments on Fox.)

Speaking of Hillary, I understand she has told Iran that "time is running out".....

ahem, as nuclear negotiations begin in Istanbul between Iran and something called the P-5 plus 1 (or is it P-5 minus 5?) under the leadership of none other than Baroness Lady Cathy Ashton of the EU. This is the biggest mismatch since Madeline Albright and Jimmy Carter were in North Korea. Ashton, of course, made headlines recently when she compared the Toulouse massacre to Palestinian kids getting shot (while being used as shields by Palestinian terrorists-my words, not hers) Here is what EU British member Nigel Farage had to say about Ashton's appointment to the EU in the first place.

Translation? The woman is an incompetent boob with no experience for the job as EU high commissioner for foreign affairs. Kinda like that US State Dept. Asst Secretary for African Affairs boob Johnnie Carson, who said that the massacres in Nigeria have nothing to do with religion.

But not to worry. If Ashton finds herself overmatched, she can always call in the big gun, EU president Herman van Rompuy.

Here he is (l) with Lady Ashton. My, she doesn't look British, does she?

If you are not familiar with Van Rompuy, try to imagine Harry Reid speaking French.

Not to be outdone by the EU, the UN has decided to send a team of observers to Syria to "monitor the cease fire".

But it gets better. Guess who is in charge. None other than the previous UN Secretary General, the guy with the crooked son who is a chip off the old block, Kofi Annan. I'm sure there will be a few deals made there (not peace deals). Hey-if any monitors are going from Orange County and need a visa, give Hazem Chehebi a call. He's the Syrian honorary consul and the man to see. If he's not in his office, try UC Irvine. He may be handing out a medal to someone in his function as chair of the UC Irvine Foundation.

What is the UCI Foundation, you ask?

You don't wanna know.

As you know, the last monitoring team sent there (Syria, not UCI) by the Arab League did a whole lot of monitoring. They watched as hundreds of protesters were shot by Syrian troops. It was no monitoring mission; it was a training mission, be jeezuz. They were picking up pointers to use against their own protesters.

Speaking of boondoggle conferences, how about that GSA conference in Las Vegas? What was the total, $850,000? GSA administrator and Lady Ashton look-a-like Martha Johnson has already resigned.

(I wonder if she is British. )

I got a feeling there is a lot more profligate spending than what has been reported. You
can't tell me it's all comedy skits and bike building lessons in Las Vegas.

I hear the Department of Justice is conducting an investigation, or is GSA investigating the Dept. of Justice?

Imagine that. Last week I heard Eric Holder telling an audience that DOJ was investigating the Trayvon Martin case. When is he going announce they are investigating the New Black Panther Party for putting a bounty on someone's head-dead or alive? Civil rights violation?

Nah.

Speaking of Holder, I have a suggestion for him and his Justice Department. Why not send some investigators to visit Rod Blagoyevich in prison and make a deal with him. A sentence reduction if he will tell all he knows and testify against folks like Rahm Emanuel, Valerie Jarrett, and Jesse Jackson Jr over that Senate seat he was trying to sell off. Hell, you might even make a case on none other than....

Of course, I have full faith in our Justice Department that they will follow crimes no matter where they lead............

I was only dreaming.

Finally, this weekend is being marked as the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. One hundred years. Big deal! How many years do you think it has been since the Cubs won a World Series? I'll give you a hint.

That's right. The Titanic hadn't even been built yet.

I guess the moral to the first story herein is that if you are going to take up with hookers, you probably had better not stiff the lady for the $$$$$.

Also, happened to catch Bob Beckel commenting on this, and his take was essentially that since prostitition was legal in that part of Colombia, it was really no big deal. That should mean that the SS can do the same thing with hookers when they accompany the Pres. to certain parts of NV??
