Exposing the Israel Boycott Divestment Sanction Movement

Cross-posted from Pro Israel Bay Bloggers

The pro-Jewish advocacy group Stand With Us has produced a video exposing the Boycott Divestment Sanction movement (against Israel), which has several tentacles in the US and is active on American campuses. It explains how the BDS movement has as its goal the destruction of Israel and how the movement damages genuine efforts at Israeli/Pakestinian collaboration.

My system doesn't seem to be downloading the video, but I doubt there is anything new in it. Divestment as applied to Israel is a juvenile temper tantrum at best. There is a certain kind of armchair revolutionary that loves to sit in a comfortable living room, drawing a comfortable paycheck, in a comfortable part of the world, while cheering on whoever is at some barricade half way around the world.

They had a field day with South African, because South African deserved to be isolated, sanctioned, and divested, and the world knew it. They couldn't move on fast enough once Nelson Mandela had to put his hands to the plow of actually governing -- which he did rather well for what he had to work with.

Israel is not South Africa. Divestment is occasionally effective against an unqualified evil, and not always even then. Some evils can afford to thumb their nose at our investment.
