Jen Psaki "Highlights" Successes of Iraqi Security Forces

Yesterday, State Department spokeshole Jen Psaki, a lady clearly in over her pretty red head, responded to a reporter's question about the recent successes of ISIS in spite of the US-led air strikes. Psaki told her questioner that there have been several successes by Iraqi Security Forces in "pushing back" ISIS. She then turned to her trusty old briefing book to find them. Trouble is-she couldn't find them. Great moment.

Meanwhile, in spite of our air attacks (and those by the Saudis, Emiratis, Jordanians, as well as Snoopy and the Red Baron, ISIS continues to march. As we speak they are fighting in the streets of Kobani, a Kurdish town on the Turkish-Syrian border. Turkish military sit in their tanks and watch from their side of the border as ISIS fights its way through the center of town. A real bloodbath of Kurds and refugee Christians is about to take place. The Kurds, who are ready and willing to fight ISIS on the ground, are pleading for more weapons. We give the weapons to Psaki's heroic  Iraqi Security Forces who are supposed to pass them to the Kurds-except they don't.

Everybody is saying to each other, "Do something!"

The Kurds in Kobani are Syrian, not Iraqi, so there wouldn't be a direct connection to Iraqi security forces. I agree we should air drop some advanced weaponry to the Kurds. At least we have a good idea they will use them rather than handing them over to ISIS while presenting themselves for execution.
