Netherlands: Wilders Visits Kijkduin

 This week, a fresh controversy arose in the Netherlands when a bus full of asylum-seekers was spotted discharging its passengers at a seaside resort hotel in the community of Kijkduin. An investigative reporter from the conservative news outlet, Ongehoord Nederland, managed to visit one of the rooms and filmed what asylum-seekers (who had been bussed from the migrant center at Ter Apel) were being treated to at Dutch taxpayers' expense.

Subsequently, Party for Freedom leader Geert Wilders visited the community to show his support for outraged residents. The below video is subtitled by Gates of Vienna and Vlad Tepes with translation by Fousesquawk. 

The Middle East War and Campus Newspapers

 In covering the craziness on our university campuses, part of the story is how the campus newspapers are covering and reporting controversial events on campus. This also applies to the demonstrations and events surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The highly organized Palestinian movement in the US has been quite successful in making this conflict a hot-button issue on campuses all over the country. Thus, the issue is often found in campus newspapers, especially now.

So it is with the events of October 7 up to the present day. More than ever, our campuses are awash in pro-Palestinian demonstrations condemning the Israeli assault upon Gaza in the wake of October 7 and openly calling for the destruction of the Jewish state. Predictably, most campus papers I have read during this time are trying to walk a fine line between covering the pro-Palestinian side and expressing concern over the civilian deaths in Gaza while reporting Jewish students' concerns over anti-Semitism. What I fail to see is any strong condemnation over the horrific events of October 7 aside from reporting the university administration's condemnation, which inevitably leads to protests by groups like Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), whose narrative and claims are covered extensively without question. I also fail to see any editorial condemnation of the brown shirt antics of SJP by the editorial staff of any paper.

The problem is that campus newspapers in general, in keeping with the times, try to maintain political correctness in dealing with controversial issues. At worst, they are overly sympathetic to the  Palestinian side, often reporting that they cannot disclose the names of pro-Palestinian students whom they quote due to "threats against their personal safety". Imagine that: The bully boys (and girls) of SJP are afraid for their personal safety.

To be clear and blunt: There can be no moral equivalence between Israel's assault on Gaza in pursuit of Hamas and attempts to find their hostages with the horrific atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7. I have yet to find in any campus newspaper a detailed description of what those animals did, beheading babies, placing them in ovens, raping women, massacring over 1,200 innocent civilians, and kidnapping over 200 people, including small children, to Gaza. True, I cannot account for every campus newspaper in the nation. Still, I have yet to find any example where Israel is defended other than an occasional op-ed by a particularly courageous Jewish student whom the newspaper has allowed to publish a piece. 

I don't know if this is all a result of fear or actual belief on the part of the student journalists, or a combination of both. In the past, I have tried to be generous because, after all, they are students. Ten years down the road in life, they may have different beliefs. On the other hand, these are the future journalists for the New York Times, Washington Post, etc, and their biases will bring further discredit to American journalism, an institution that is already in serious decline. 

The latest round of fighting between Israel and Hamas, which was started by one of the most horrific attacks against civilians in recent history, has brought a spotlight on the issue of campus anti-Semitism and the failure of universities to confront it seriously. The public in general is now aware not only of the present-day scope of Jew hatred around the world but the role of our own universities in spreading it. A few universities, and hopefully more, are starting to realize that the presence of SJP on their campuses is not only disruptive but downright dangerous. As we keep the spotlight shining on our morally corrupt universities, let us not overlook the role campus newspapers are playing, consciously or unconsciously.

UC Berkeley Sued for Failure to Protect Jewish Students

The Loius D Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law, an organization dedicated to fighting anti-Semitism, particularly on campus, has brought a lawsuit against the University of California at Berkeley citing a long list of complaints of intimidation against Jewish students by anti-Israel activists on that campus. The below article was sent to me today by the Brandeis Center. I applaud what they are doing, and more of this is needed across the country. It is way past time to hold these universities accountable. For far too long they have turned a blind eye to brown shirt tactics by Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and various chapters of the Muslim Student Association.  

BRANDEIS CENTER SUES UC BERKELEY FOR “LONGSTANDING, UNCHECKED SPREAD OF ANTI-SEMITISM”

 

Once a Beacon of Civil Rights, Berkeley Now Home to Physical Intimidation and Violence Against Jews and 23 Orgs that Ban “Zionists”

 

Washington, D.C., Nov. 28, 2023:  The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law is suing the University of California (UC) Regents, UC President Michael Drake, UC Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ, and other officials, for the “longstanding, unchecked spread of anti-Semitism” on Berkeley’s campus that has resulted in a current hotbed of anti-Jewish hostility and harassment. The complaint was filed today in the U. S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

 

Since Oct. 7 anti-Semitism has run rampant at the school, according to the Brandeis Center. Reported for the very first time in this complaint are numerous incidents of intimidation, harassment and physical violence against Jewish students. 

 

For example, during one of the numerous rallies held at UC Berkeley celebrating Hamas, a Jewish undergraduate draped in an Israeli flag was set upon by two protesters who struck him in the head with a metal water bottle. Jewish students and faculty are receiving hate mail calling for their gassing and murder.  Many Jewish students report feeling afraid to go to class.  

 

Pro-Palestinian protesters disrupted a prayer gathering by Jewish students. Pro-Palestinian rallies blocked the main entrance to campus.   And a UC Berkeley faculty member went on an anti-Israel rant for 18 minutes, with roughly 1,000 freshman as his captive audience.  

 

Students participating in the pro-Hamas rallies have spouted hatred and threats against Jews, harassed Jewish students, demanded the dismantling of Israel, honored Hamas “martyrs” who were killed while butchering Jewish civilians, and chanted phrases such as “intifada, intifada,” condoning violence against Jews, and “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” calls for the elimination of Israel and the eradication of the 7 million Jews that live there.

 

UC Berkeley Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky acknowledges the rampant anti-Semitism at his school, writing recently, “I am a 70-year-old Jewish man, but never in my life have I seen or felt the antisemitism of the last few weeks.” He noted that, “[t]wo weeks ago, at a town hall, a student told me that what would make her feel safe in the law school would be to ‘get rid of the Zionists.’” He added he had “heard several times that I have been called ‘part of a Zionist conspiracy,’ which echoes antisemitic tropes that have been expressed for centuries.”

 

UC Berkely Jewish students shared in the complaint that the school does so little to protect Jewish students, it feels as if the school is condoning anti-Semitism. They added that officials at the university display a “general disregard” for Jewish students. Indeed, many Jewish students have reported feeling afraid to go to class during the pro-Hamas rallies because they have little confidence UC will protect them from anti-Semitic mobs.  

 

“The anti-Semitism Berkeley’s Jewish students find themselves embroiled in today did not start on Oct. 7,” stated Kenneth L. Marcus, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Education for the Bush and Trump administrations, current founder and chairman of the Brandeis Center, and a graduate of UC Berkeley’s law school.  “It is a direct result of Berkeley’s leadership repeatedly turning a blind eye to unfettered Jew-hatred.  The school is quick to address other types of hatred, but why not anti-Semitism?  Berkeley, once a beacon of free speech, civil rights, and equal treatment of persons regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, gender, and sexual preference, is heading down a very different and dangerous path from the one I proudly attended as a Jewish law student.”

 

The most prominent example of pre-Oct. 7 willful blindness Marcus is referring to, and a primary focus of this lawsuit, is a decision last year by nine law student organizations to amend their constitutions with a bylaw that bans all Zionist speakers.  The numbers have now swelled to 23 groups, including academic journals that prohibit Zionists from publishing and pro-bono organizations that prevent Jewish students from receiving hands-on legal experience, training, supervision and mentorship. The Zionist ban denies Jewish law students networking opportunities provided to others; deprives them of earning pro-bono hours for state bar requirements; curtails their avenues for developing and improving legal research, writing, and editing skills; and limits their choices for obtaining academic credits towards graduation.  This is all illegal under federal law and university policies.  

 

It has become commonplace for persons seeking to disguise their anti-Semitism to use the word “Zionists” to mean Jews. The Biden National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism notes that, “[w]hen Jews are targeted because of their beliefs or their identity, when Israel is singled out because of anti-Jewish hatred, that is antisemitism.”  The White House explains that protection of Jews as a religious, national and ethnic group includes protection from anti-Israel bias and discrimination.  Anti-Zionism is different from criticism of Israel or opposition to the policies of the Israeli government.  Anti-Zionism rejects the very right of Israel to exist and denies Jews the fundamental right to self-determination. A Pew survey found that 80% of Jews view Israel as integral to their Jewish identity. Dean Chemerinsky himself has acknowledged the ban excludes “90 percent or more” of Jewish students at Berkeley law. 

 

While UC Berkeley leaders have repeatedly acknowledged the Zionist ban is blatant anti-Semitism, they have done nothing to address it.  This has allowed anti-Jewish bigotry to normalize and escalate.

 

The UC leaders have, instead, excused the discrimination as “viewpoint discrimination,” protected, they claim, by the First Amendment.  The lawsuit makes abundantly clear, however, that UC Berkeley leaders’ choice to ignore discriminatory behavior violates federal law and university policies.  According to the Brandeis Center, the discriminatory ban does not exclude individuals based on viewpoint because it has nothing to do with anything a given speaker might say or author might write.  Instead it excludes Zionist speakers because of who they are.

 

“Making Jews renounce that core component of their identity to participate in a student organization is no different than asking members of the LGBTQ community to remain ‘in the closet’ as the cost of membership—a cost that is not imposed on other students who are free to participate fully in those organizations without disavowing or hiding their identities,” stated Rachel Lerman, vice chair and general counsel at the Brandeis Center and also a graduate of UC Berkeley Law School. 

 

According to the complaint, Berkeley’s acquiescence to these discriminatory policies has helped give anti-Semitism free reign on campus in violation of the law.  “This suit targets the longstanding, unchecked spread of anti-Semitism at the University of California Berkeley, which, following the October 7 Hamas attacks, has erupted in on-campus displays of hatred, harassment, and physical violence against Jews,” states the complaint.  “Court intervention is now needed to protect students and faculty and to end this anti-Semitic discrimination and harassment, which violates University policy, federal civil rights laws, and the U.S. Constitution.”

 

Earlier this month, the Brandeis Center, along with the ADL, Hillel International, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, and other leading law firms and Jewish organizations, launched the Campus Antisemitism Legal Line (CALL), a free legal protection helpline for college students who have experienced antisemitism. Over the past month, the Brandeis Center has filed two Title VI complaints with the U.S. Department of Education against the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) and Wellesley College, and sent a strong legal warning to Harvard University regarding its failure to take action against a professor that Harvard itself admitted had discriminated against Jewish Israeli students.  Two weeks ago the Department of Education announced it was formally investigating Brandeis’ UPenn and Wellesley complaints.

 

The Department of Education recently reached an unprecedented agreement with the University of Vermont to address growing antisemitism on its campus in response to a complaint filed by the Brandeis Center on behalf of UVM Jewish students, and, in addition to UPenn and Wellesley, the Department of Education is investigating another four pending Brandeis Center complaints at SUNY New Paltz, the University of Southern California (USC), Brooklyn College, and the University of Illinois.

Jew Haters and Hamas Supporters at University of Arizona

On October 11, in the wake of the day horrific October 7 Hamas attack upon innocent Jewish civilians in Israel, University of Arizona President, Robert Robbins issued a campus-wide statement in which he condemned the actions of the above terror group. He also expressed the university's disavowal of support for Hamas by the U of A chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).

Naturally, that didn't sit right with SJP and their leftist allies on campus, so on November 9 they held a walkout and accused Robbins of, well, genocide.

Meanwhile, Lea Thomas, a Jewish student at U of A has written a letter to the editor of the campus newspaper, the Daily Wildcat, to describe the fear Jewish students feel on campus and accusing SJP of misinformation.

This is just another in a long line of examples from US campuses illustrating the rampant anti-Semitism being spread in the name of supporting the Palestinian cause. This wave of Jew-hatred has now reached epic proportions. I hope that President Robbins will stand up to the Hamas supporters on his campus. 

Kick SJP off campus, once and for all.

Culture Shock in Portugal

You may not read much about it compared to countries like France, Sweden, Germany, and the Netherlands, but Portugal is also having problems with migrants and resultant crime. This report from the Portuguese daily, Correio da Manhã, is a week old, but it seems that at least one Iraqi man, probably three, took offense when they saw people drinking beer at an open-air restaurant or bar. After threatening customers, police were called, and one of the Iraqis allegedly cut two officers with a knife.

According to the below article, a spokesperson for the local police station, apparently somewhat less than outraged, told the press that this is a case of culture shock on the part of the Iraqi(s).

Fortunately, the two officers were only lightly wounded. Meanwhile, our Iraqi friend is sitting in a jail cell recovering from his culture shock.

Police officer stabbed by man who threatened customers at an open-air restaurant in Ourem

PSP believes that contempt arose due to "culture shock"

An officer of the PSP (Public Safety Police), police force of Ourem was stabbed by an Iraqi man who was threatening several beer-drinking customers with a knife at an open-air restaurant near the Ourem courthouse.

The PSP was called to intervene, and the 29-year-old man maintained an aggressive behavior and lightly stabbed two officers, who were treated at the scene without having to go to the hospital, explained an official of the PSP command of Santarem.

At the time, two other men were also identified for threatening and insulting some of the customers.

"At issue is culture shock since the involved persons are taught that the consumption of alcohol in public places is not permitted," a PSP source said.

The detained individual will stay in a PSP cell until brought to court to appear before a judge.

The Shooting in Vermont

Over the weekend, in Burlington, Vermont, three students identified as Palestinians were shot and wounded near the University of Vermont campus. The young men were reportedly speaking Arabic and two of them were wearing the distinctive Palestinian keffiyas. A 48-year-old man identified as Jason Eaton has been charged with three counts of second-degree attempted murder.

We still don't know all the facts surrounding the incident, but on the surface, one can only say that this must be condemned, assuming the attack was unprovoked and not a case of self-defense. As yet, there has been no release of information suggesting that was the case.

These are tense times we are living in with the Israeli-Hamas war and the emotions that has caused in the US. On November 5, a 69-year-old Jewish man was killed in an altercation with a pro-Palestinian demonstrator near Los Angeles. We don't need any more people hurt or killed in our country over this conflict.

I won't hesitate to report on violence carried out by pro-Palestinian demonstrators, but I will not be a hypocrite. What happened in Vermont is unacceptable and justice must do its job. It should also serve as a reminder that worse violence may be on the way. Although the Vermont incident did not happen during a demonstration, it still underlines the fact that pro-Israel or pro-Palestinian demonstrations must be accompanied by a visible police presence.

Stupidity and Chutzpah at Columbia

The little rascals are up in arms at Columbia University over the suspension of two student groups. STANDING IN SOLIDARITY are a laundry list of dopey student groups who are demanding-DEMANDING- that the suspend groups be reinstated, along with a host of other silly demands.

Sweden: Jimmie Åkesson Wants to Tear Down Extremist Mosques

Jimmie Åkesson, the leader of the conservative Sweden Democrats party, has given a strong speech in which he advocates tearing down mosques in Sweden that are nests of anti-democratic, anti-Swedish, anti-Semitic Islamists. The below article in Samtiden is translated by Fousesquawk.

Comment: From an American perspective, on the surface, that appears to be a hard idea to swallow. However, Åkesson is specifying mosques that have proven to be centers of Islamism, that is, people who wish to impose Islam on Sweden and who are inciting hate against the country, Jews, Christians, or others. On that point, I agree. In my view, if there are mosques that are innocent of wrongdoing or inciting hate, they should be left alone. Those Muslims who have longstanding roots in the country and who are peaceful, integrated, and productive members of society should be left alone. The radicals, haters, and troublemakers should be sent home.

Åkesson: Takes a stand- demolish Islamists' mosque construction

It was a strong speech for Swedish values and with it, against Islamists' pretense. Sweden must stop excusing Islamists and their progress. Instead of more mosques, Åkesson wants to demolish mosques that harbor extremists.

During the Sweden Democrats' National Days in Västerås, Jimmie  Åkesson gave his speech after he was entrusted as party leader for two more years. The election committee said that there was not even a discussion over the issue of party leader. His position was so clear.

People celebrated on Swedish streets that women and children were slaughtered and raped.

After giving thanks for the trust and giving a situation report on everything that was going to happen through the Tidö Agreement and cooperation with the government, Åkesson went onto a hard attack against those in Sweden who celebrated the attacks and murders of children, women, and men in Israel.

"The 7th of October this year the Islamist terror organization, Hamas, staged a cruel and inhuman attack directed primarily at civilian targets in Israel. Women and children, small children, were slaughtered, raped, and kidnapped." 

"People celebrated this in Sweden! With fireworks."

"People who chose to move to this country. People, who, for some extremely unclear reason, have been allowed to move to our country."

 "They celebrated. They cheered. It is so macabre that it is hard to take in."

Stop mosque construction

It is noticeable that this behavior has disturbed Jimmie Åkesson deeply. He wants to take a hard line against the Islamization that has been allowed to happen in Sweden.

"We need an immediate and total stop in the establishment of new mosques in Sweden," Åkesson said to strong applause.

"In the long term, we need to start confiscating and demolishing mosque buildings where anti-democratic, anti-Swedish, homophobic, or anti-Semitic propaganda or general misinformation is spread about Swedish society."

Åkesson wants to ensure that security police can use covert means of enforcement, such as covert wiretapping to get to extremists who break Swedish laws.

Tear down minarets

Along with the security threat that Islamists pose against the Swedish people, Åkesson also wants to save Sweden from the imperialist features that drive Islamism.

"Minarets, domes, half-crescents, or other attributes that serve as Islamist monuments in our city landscape should be completely removed. There is absolutely nothing in our constitutionally protected religious freedom that gives someone the right to build such monuments in the name of religion," stated Åkesson.

He stressed that religious freedom includes the right to be free from having a religion imposed. Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Atheists, and others have the right to avoid calls to prayer and changes in the city landscape.

Sweden will not become a Muslim country

Åkesson said that Islamists cannot be excused. There is no gray area. Either stand with the Western side or with the Islamists. Here Åkesson sent a direct call to the Social Democrats and Magdalena Andersson. Choose sides!

Åkesson was crystal clear with his and his party's ambition:

"Sweden is not, and Sweden will never become a Muslim country. And Islamism must be opposed before it eats its way even deeper into the body of society."

The Tide Begins to Turn

Geert Wilders

If this week's electoral victory by Geert Wilders and his Party for Freedom (They won 37 of 150 seats in the Dutch parliament's Second Chamber) is an indication, the far-left and pro-Hamas protests may be the straw that broke the camel's back with the public at large.

Most sensible and decent people in the West, including the US, are fed up with seeing those obscene Palestinian flags being waved on our streets and campuses after the horrific atrocities carried out by Hamas on October 7. The Netherlands is no exception. The marriage between the far-left Woke crowd and the Muslim-immigrant Hamas supporters appears to have been a decisive factor in carrying Wilders to victory. The Dutch appear to be fed up with their liberal government's policies of allowing more and more "asylum-seekers" into the country, giving them priority for housing in a country with a severe housing shortage, and importing anti-Semitism to a nation that already experienced having most of its Jewish population rounded up and deported to death camps during the Holocaust.

Here in the US, our holiday season is off to a bad start with pro-Hamas crazies disrupting the traditional Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City and Black Friday disruptions of shoppers. One is tempted to say, "Keep it up, you dopes. The voters will punish you in the end." Today, that seems to be the case in the Netherlands. (Yet, under the complicated parliamentary system in play in European "democracies", the same old liberal parties can join together to thwart the people's will and keep Wilders and his party out of government. That is still to be determined.)

The fact of the matter is that the despicable exhibitions of support for the butchers of Hamas in the wake of the atrocities of October 7, on the part of leftists, Islamists, and pro-Palestinian mobs, have exceeded all bounds of decency and are an affront to our civilizational values.

As one conservative Dutch news site pointed out, the antics of these loons and terror supporters may have tipped the scales in the Dutch elections. Might it do the same in next year's US elections? One can only hope and pray. Sooner or later, the civilized world is going to reach the tipping point. That time should have come years ago. 

My fervent hope is that Geert Wilders becomes the next prime minister of the Netherlands and that his government will start removing the imported Jew-haters that the previous government has let in. Moreover, I hope that the rest of the West will follow suit. Hopefully, we won't have to look at that cursed Palestinian flag much longer.

Predictably, the victory of Geert Wilders and his PVV party has sent the Woke mob into the streets to protest along with the pro-Hamas supporters. Movie! Crazy left extremists demonstrate against election results: "And from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free"

Yesterday evening, opponents of the PVV took to the street to demonstrate against the election result. They think it's terrible that Geert Wilders' party has won the elections. And so they demand that "something" be done. They carried Palestine flags and chanted over and over,  "From the river to the  sea, Palestine will be free." Ironic because just that sort of demonstration made a large contribution to Wilders' historical election victory.

This sort of image is why countless Dutch people (2 million or so?) voted for Geert Wilders in last Tuesday's elections. What you see there are radical demonstrators-foreigners and natives- who took to the street to demonstrate against the PVV, against the democratic judgment of the voters.... while they also chanted slogans that, according to many Dutch people, mean that they are supporters of a new genocide of Jews, this time in Israel itself.

How retarded can you be? How totally insane? Not only because you think what happens abroad seems more important than what happens in the Netherlands (where are the Dutch flags, you bunch of self-haters?), but also because what they literally do and shout is precisely the cause of Wilders' rise. They thus ensure that he doesn't become smaller. No, he just becomes more popular. Because the Dutch people are completely fed up with this sort of craziness. 

This was also illustrated by the opinion of Maartje Steunenberg, who writes on X: "I'm embarrassed by the community where I live! A call for the destruction of Jews. Next to the Jewish monument in Alkmaar." Because, yes, they went there en masse on the street and with a large number of Palestinian flags. 

Woke

And no, last night it wasn't only Palestine demonstrators who demonstrated against Wilders. From other images recorded in Utrecht, it turns out that many creamy- white Woke-crazies took to the street. These total idiots stood proudly waving rainbow flags and chanted, "Solidarity, solidarity, solidarity!" with each other.

Solidarity? With whom? The last 13 years there has been a lot of solidarity with all kinds of fortune-seekers from far and wide, but for the Dutch themselves there has been absolutely no solidarity. The Dutch have suffered en masse. Our groceries have become unaffordable. We cannot find housing. We must look on while entire neighborhoods and towns change into Little Arabias.

At the Dagelijkse Standaard, we know that the last elections were the most important elections ever. We are fighting for a good continuation. The Netherlands must be saved. If we don't push through now, it will go wrong forever. Do you also think so? Support us then! The Palestinian demonstrators and the Woke-crazies together have made Wilders big....and now they are ensuring that still more Dutch people will throw their heads back. If they think that with these kinds of demonstrations, they will make sure that the PVV is kept out of the government, they are seriously mistaken.

This week, Dutch voters sent shock waves throughout the European Union by giving 37 seats in the Parliament's Second Chamber to Geert Wilders' Party for Freedom (PVV) making it the largest party in the government! 

Reaction in the Muslim world was restrained.

So will Wilders become the prime minister of his country? Will his party hold a representative share of the new cabinet? Well, that all remains to be seen. Moderate Wilders still controversial, but PVV government not ruled out

The Party for Freedom (PVV) was the big winner in the Second Chamber (Parliamentary) elections with 37 seats. To date, the party has always remained outside the cabinet. But this campaign saw a more moderate Geert Wilders. What does that mean? This time will the PVV join (the government) and who will be the possible cabinet ministers? We lay it out.  

1 How has the PVV grown into the largest (party)?

The Rutte IV cabinet fell over migration. Migration subsequently became one of the most important themes of this election campaign. It is a theme that the PVV, much more than the VVD (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy), "owns". Voters associate the PVV with that theme.

In addition, the VVD, according to the voters, has not delivered on that theme in recent cabinets.

Moreover, a vote for the PVV this time was not thrown away because the VVD said it was ready to work together in a cabinet. In the past years, the VVD excluded the PVV.

2 What makes the PVV controversial?

The PVV is controversial from the standpoint of its position on migration and Islam. Its election platform states: "Our beautiful Netherlands has  seriously deteriorated through the ongoing asylum tsunami and mass immigration."

And: "The Netherlands is not an Islamic country. No Islamic schools, Korans, and mosques". A position that is contrary to the Constitution.

Other controversial positions include, among others, the plan to leave the UN Refugee Convention, no more money to the NPO (Dutch Public Broadcasting), and the abolition of the First Chamber (Senate). The party wants to immediately abolish all development aid. Wilders also wants a binding referendum on leaving the EU, and he wants all apologies for the slavery past and police actions to be withdrawn.

In addition, the party is against Dutch support for Ukraine in the war against Russia. He called the Second Chamber a fake parliament and Sigrid Kaag a witch. Wilders also considers journalists-with some exceptions- scum.

3 Is Wilders now more moderate?

He speaks more moderately. In the campaign, Wilders said that he wanted to be a premier of all Dutch people, "no matter where you come from and what your belief is".The PVV leader also said that his party will operate within the framework of the Constitution.

Wilders also said he is willing to put some key points of the party, so to speak, "on hold". That would mean, among others, the ban on Islamic education and the Koran.

But the controversial points are still found in the party's platform.

4 How big is the chance that Wilders will join the government?

The chance certainly exists. Although VVD and NSC (New Social Contract) let it be known before the elections that this would not happen any time soon, they did not repeat that after the polls. Pieter Omtzigt from NSC emphasized that his new party is available for the national government.

On the question about cooperation with the PVV, Omtzigt said that his faction is meeting for the first time this afternoon. "Then we will talk about how we can proceed from here. But we see the need for good governance."

VVD leader Dilan Yeşilgöz kept her silence after the exit polls became known. This afternoon, she said after a faction meeting that the initiative to form a cabinet now lies with the "big winners" of the election, the PVV and NSC. While she had earlier said she was unwilling to join a cabinet with "Premier Wilders", she is (now) talking of a "new reality". She still provides no clarity on whether she is now willing to govern with him. She wants to let the results sink in.

5  What government candidates does the PVV have?

According to Wilders, Fleur Agema would be an outstanding minister of health. "I am itching (to do it), naturally," said Agema herself. "It would be fantastic. My heart skips a beat over the idea, but you never know if it will be granted."

Martin Bosma could become state secretary for media affairs, but he would rather be chairman of the Second Chamber. Dion Graus, according to Wilders himself, would be a good secretary of state for animal welfare.

Then- PVV chamber member Lilian Helder was praised for her knowledge of the field of justice. But she bet on the wrong horse by moving to the BBB (Farmer-Citizen Movement party). PVV member Harm Beertema was seen as a strong, substantive chamber member in the field of education.  

On the PVV electoral list, there are 13 former members of the Second Chamber. There are also municipal and provincial council members and PVV policy workers in the Second Chamber.

Last night, Martin Bosma admitted that he doesn't know everyone. "Certainly, they meet all the requirements, but I don't know who they are. Tomorrow, there will be 37 of us in a faction room; that is totally crazy. But who all that will be I have no idea."

6 Could there also be a new cabinet without PVV?

Yes, that could happen. Although it is illogical that the largest party is not part of a new cabinet, it could happen. A so-called "Victory-defeat" for Wilders is also a possibility. Because VVD, Green-Left, PvdA (Labour), NSC, and D66 combined have 78 seats.

It happened previously that the winner of the election did not govern. In 1986, the PvdA won, but the cabinet that came was CDA (Christian-Democrat Appeal) and VVD.

UC Irvine: What Does the Cross Cultural Center Stand For?

I have written several posts in which the UC Irvine Cross Cultural Center (CCC) has been featured. I have generally been critical of the CCC, which on paper, sounds like a worthy endeavor, a place where students of all backgrounds can come together and learn about each other's cultures. In practice, however, I feel that this institution has failed to live up to that lofty goal. In my opinion, the CCC has created more division than coming together.

As I have written previously, there have been pro-Palestinian disruptions of pro-Israel events on the UC Irvine campus by Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and the Muslim Student Union (MSU) over the years, some of which I have observed. On several occasions, as observed by myself or others, the SJP/MSU have used the CCC as a staging area from where they proceed to the event to be disrupted, and as a debriefing area after the disruption. 

On one occasion, I discussed this very issue with the then-director of the CCC and was told that he could not control the traffic in and out of the CCC.

In June 2020, a group of people associated with the UC campuses across California, predominantly students, and several student groups signed a letter calling on the University of California to abolish campus police and cut off all ties with Israel. This came in the wake of the George Floyd death in Minneapolis that summer, which led to riots in cities all over the nation.

Americans from all over the political spectrum were deeply disturbed by the images of the Minneapolis cop kneeling on Floyd's neck, which was captured on video. However, that did not justify the burning of cities and attacks on police all over the country. It did not justify calls to defund or abolish the police altogether.

The above-referenced letter, however, is a textbook example of far-left, looney thought. Most of the organizations listed in the letter as signees appear to be the run-of-the-mill victim identity groups. As for the individual signees, overwhelmingly students, I am not really interested in who they are. The names number in the hundreds, and it is hardly worthwhile to try and examine the names. Of course, they are free to espouse their opinions, however dopey and radical they may be.

There is one name, however, which has come to my attention, and which I choose not to identify, who is now part of the staff of the CCC at UCI. The reason I choose not to identify the name is to respect this person's privacy and acknowledge that perhaps, in the three years or so that have passed since the petition, this person's views have evolved. But if this is representative of the thinking within the CCC, it just goes to prove my doubts about this entity are well-grounded. Is this the kind of thinking that is being propagated in the CCC, or is it just the views of one employee, who may have different views today?

Anti-Jewish protests have alarmed the interior minister. Her worry about societal division is growing. For good reason.

Berlin. Celebrations for Hamas terror against Israel. Demonstrations for a caliphate on German streets, anti-Semitic incitement online. The reactions to the Middle East war among Muslims in Germany have alarmed security authorities and the federal government. The events have thrown a spotlight on Jew-hatred among immigrants and have triggered a debate on immigration. On the other hand, the federal government is concerned about a division in society.

Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) is therefore calling on Islamic associations here in this country to speak out loud and clear against Jew-hatred and hostility to Israel": In the Friday prayers, in the community, or on their own social media channels. "The large Islamic associations must ensure that anti-Semitic sentiments do not spread further," demands Faeser in a conversation with this editorial staff and wishes that some associations, "would express themselves with more clarity."

Faeser invited the German Islam Conference to a conference on Tuesday and Wednesday to analyze the consequences of the war between Hamas and Israel on society. In addition to the Islamic associations, figures from the Jewish (community) are expected. "The threats against Jews and incitement against Israel must be opposed by all whose voices are important," the interior minister describes as the goal of the conference.

Hostility to Muslims in Germany widespread

Some 5.5 million Muslims live in Germany, they make up almost 7% of the population. Half of them possess a German passport.  The accusation of unwillingness to integrate is constantly raised against immigrants, especially from Muslim countries, mostly recently after the riots last New Year's Eve. And now the topic arises after the atrocities by Hamas were celebrated on German streets. "These people are not integrated into our society," said the CDU politician Thorsten Frei.

On the other side, studies show how difficult the majority of society makes it for Muslims. In a report by the expert group, Hostility to Muslims, this past summer, it is reported that "Hostility to Muslims is not a marginal societal phenomenon, rather is widespread in large parts of the German population and has remained at a high level for years." Accordingly,  many Muslims experience not only prejudice and rejection but also hate and violence are part of their experiences. According to a current publication by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, almost half of people with roots in predominantly Muslim countries feel discriminated against while looking for residences. 

Now come the tensions in the Middle East. The federal government sees the current developments as explosive for society. So they are sending a double message: On the one hand, it wants to clearly identify, condemn, and where possible, prosecute anti-Semitism among people living here. On the other hand, it fears a division when Muslims, especially people of Palestinian origin in Germany, feel hostility and under pressure as generally being anti-Jewish and Hamas sympathizers.

Faeser: We are proceeding against Islamists, not against Islam

Faeser emphasized: "We are proceeding hard against Islamists, not against Islam." This differentiation is of the utmost importance. "In no case, should Muslims in Germany be held liable for the Islamist terror. Most Muslims have for a long time had deep roots in our democratic society," the SPD politician added. "They are just as horrified by the barbaric violence of Hamas as all of us. Therefore, every generalization is false- and leads to division and exclusion."

On this, the Office for Protection of the Constitution (Security Police) also warns: "The overwhelming majority of people with Palestinian roots live a (law-abiding) life in Germany," said President Thomas Haldenwang recently to Der Spiegel. He warns:" To put all of them under general suspicion can fuel the radicalization process."

Haldenweg's (agency) nevertheless, sees immigration as a significant source of anti-Semitism. In the current situation report on anti-Semitism, the Federal Office for Protection of the Constitution says in 2022 that the number of persons hostile to Israel has grown with the arrival of refugees since 2015. "Such people have grown the personal anti-Semitism potential in Germany. So this is an imported anti-Semitism."

German security authorities are currently observing that the events in the Middle East are strongly emotionalizing and, in some cases, radicalizing parts of the Muslim population in Germany. Social media is full of information and images about the conflict and its consequences, for example, the Israeli military action in the Gaza Strip. They are aware that actors from the Islamist scene are deliberately spreading fake news and conspiracy theories.

Recurring criticism on the relevant internet channels is also being directed against the pro-Israeli position of the government. Politicians, media, and police are being accused of incitement and racism. People with a migration background, who have gained many followers to date with non-political content, have, according to authorities, expressed themselves now with increased resonance on the war in the Middle East. Investigators are finding it increasingly difficult to keep an eye on the rapidly growing scene. That is a danger should individuals feel called to act out beyond participating in demonstrations.

Not only the security authorities, (but) politicians are also following the developments with concern. 
"The Islamist scene in Germany is more active than it has been for years," says Green Chairman Omid Nouripour to this editorial staff. "Islamists spread their propaganda and incite young people to violence (and) sow hate in our society." Nouripour demands: "These developments require now our utmost attention- that includes also a notable increase in the capability of our security authorities". For this, investments in personnel and equipment are urgently necessary.

Car Bombing at US-Canadian Border at Niagara

 It appears at this point that the car bombing today at the US-Canadian border bridge at Niagara is a terrorist attack. It is too early to draw conclusions, but is appears to be a jihadist attack, possibly to show support for Hamas. Keep in mind, however, that most assumed the Oklahoma City bombing was done by radical Muslims. That turned out not to be the case, and today's perps (there were reportedly two people in the car) could turn out to be Timothy McVeigh types.

Once the FBI/ATF and Canadian authorities have identified the perps, I will have more to say. 

Iranian Exiles Stand up for Israel in Irvine

On November 19, I attended a pro-Israel rally in Irvine, California. I took some photos and video of the event, which lasted two hours. Of course, these rallies are going on all over the country, but there were some interesting aspects I wanted to share.

First of all, the rally was a joint venture between pro-Israelis and Iranian exiles. It was not the first since October 7 (I believe it was the third), and will not be the last. The principal themes were to support Israel, condemn Hamas, call for the return of the hostages, and condemn the current Islamic Republic of Iran.

There were numerous flags, not only Israeli and the US, but flags of the former Shah-led Iran as well.

It was the Iranians who were most vocal. Throughout the two-hour event, they used bullhorns to continuously repeat the above themes. One young lady told of how she grew up as a Jew in post-revolutionary Iran, living in fear and having to hide her Jewish identity.  

Unlike the tragic event in Thousand Oaks on November 5, in which a Jewish man lost his life, this event was closely monitored by the Irvine police. At first, they just had two or three cars parked near the intersection, but as soon as the Hamas supporters began passing by with their flags and then taking up positions standing across the street, the police were there in force. They did an outstanding job.

As for the counter-protesters, something was different in this event as opposed to two previous rallies I had attended in Irvine after October 7. In the previous two rallies, almost one hundred percent of the passing motorists honked their horns and gave the thumbs up to our presence. What often happens, especially in Irvine, is that after the first half hour of our rallies, the word gets out through the cell phone grapevine among the Hamas supporters, and then you see some yahoos driving past with Palestinian flags and giving us the finger. That was not the case in the aforementioned two rallies I had attended after October 7. This time, however, the pro-Hamas crowd, mostly all young people,  I would say, in their 20s or teens, started showing up in force driving past with their flags and keffiyehs. Then about 40 or so young people gathered on the opposite side of the street. Due to the heavy police presence, there were no violent incidents or unruly behavior that I observed.

Upon the close of our rally, a young lady sang the Israeli National Anthem, followed by a recording of Whitney Houston's version of our own National Anthem, followed by the National Anthem of Iran (I presume a pre-revolutionary anthem). At that point, as I was leaving, I could hear the Hamas supporters chanting their obscene chant of "from the river to the sea..."

I will add some additional photos and videos to this post, but I wanted to get this up now.

I urge everybody to continue to show your support for Israel and stay safe out there.

I hope George Galloway, the misfit British politician who has actively supported Hamas in Gaza with his asinine Viva Palestina convoys of materials and cash, is reading this.

On October 7, Hamas committed acts of barbarity not seen since the Holocaust. Some of the acts they committed that day probably were never even committed by the Nazi murderers during World War II. 

And it was done to the cries of "Allahu akhbar", the Islamic warcry that "God is greater!", as if God was pleased by these inhuman, unspeakable acts against women and children alike.

Israel is fighting against savages. I wish no harm upon innocent Palestinian civilians even though many of them cheered and celebrated these atrocities committed by Hamas. The Civil Commission on October 7th Crimes by Hamas Against Women is working to compile a database of gender-based atrocities

JERUSALEM — The first suggestion that Hamas terrorists committed acts of extreme sexual violence and rape against victims during their Oct. 7 rampage through southern Israel came on social media early on that fateful Saturday morning six weeks ago. 

Two short videos, shared by the terrorists themselves, quickly emerged showing groups of cheering Palestinian men, some armed, in the streets of Gaza crowding around half-naked and bloodied young Israeli women.

In one clip, a woman later identified as German-Israeli citizen Shani Louk, 22, can be seen barely clothed lying unconscious in an unnatural position on the flatbed of a pickup as men spit and abuse her body while screaming "Allahu Akhbar."

In another video, 19-year-old Israeli soldier Na’ama Levy is pulled from the back of a jeep by an armed gunman, her hands bound behind her back and thick blood stains between her legs, as Palestinian men jeer at her. 

Louk is now counted among the 1,200 people murdered that day, and Levy is thought to be one of an estimated 240 hostages, including babies and children, being held by the terror group inside the Palestinian enclave. 

While the victims of gender-based crimes committed during that brutal attack have yet to come forward, either because they were murdered or kidnapped or are still reeling from the trauma, the Israeli police and Israel’s newly formed Civil Commission on October 7th Crimes by Hamas Against Women believe sexual violence during the terror attack was widespread, systematic and even endorsed by the Islamic fundamentalist group’s religious and spiritual leaders as permissible during war. 

Yet collecting the evidence for this intimate aspect of such a massive, multilevel terror attack, which sparked total chaos inside Israel and launched a full-scale war in the Gaza Strip, has proved challenging for criminal investigators. Those investigators hope to bring detailed charges against hundreds of Hamas terrorists now being held by Israel for their role in the assault and for women’s groups, who say that violent sexual crimes in war must be documented and remembered. 

"This is the biggest criminal case in Israel’s history," said David Katz, head of the Israeli police’s Lahav 443 criminal investigation’s cyber unit, which is investigating the criminal aspects of the mass atrocity.

"We are dealing with thousands of murders and other crimes," he said. He described how the crime scene, which included more than 20 locations, among them army bases, civilian communities and a sprawling music festival not far from Israel’s border with Gaza, was an active combat zone for the first 48 hours following the attack, hampering police efforts to collect forensic and other evidence.

 In the aftermath of the surprise attack, police said, the nation’s main focus was on collecting and identifying hundreds of badly mutilated and burned bodies as quickly as possible. Jewish burials are meant to take place immediately. And, although medical teams worked 24 hours a day in the days and weeks that followed, carefully photographing and documenting some of the worst injuries they said they’d ever seen, the typical process for sexual-based crimes was largely overlooked. 

"We’re still only in the initial phases of this investigation," said Katz, describing how his team was working to collect statements from thousands of survivors. It was also going to examine more than 60,000 videos taken by the terrorists on phones and bodycams and other footage taken by victims, first responders, CCTV cameras and dashcams.

"At this time, there are no known living victims, and many of the surviving victims still cannot speak about what happened to them," said Katz, adding that much of the details were under a court-authorized gag order and could not be shared with the public. But he estimated that there were "multiple" cases of sexual violence.

At Tuesday’s briefing, the police screened one eyewitness account of a gang rape that she said took place at the Nova Music Festival, where more than 300 people were brutally murdered and thousands were injured by hundreds of heavily armed Hamas terrorists.

 The witness, identified only by the initial "S," recounted on camera that while she was hiding from the terrorists, she saw a group of them pass a woman with long brown hair among them. 

"I understood they were raping her," S said. "They were passing her from one person to the next. She was alive and standing on her feet. She was bleeding from her back.

S then described how one of the terrorists sliced off the woman’s breast and began playing around with it. Another, the witness said, shot the woman in the head while he was still penetrating her. 

"He did not even lift up his pants and shot her in the head," S said, adding that she spied another terrorist haul a naked, dead woman over his shoulder and walk off with her. Another, she said, cut off someone’s head and was walking around with it like a trophy. 

Additionally, the police shared graphic photographs and video footage from the festival showing women, charred and bloody, their underwear visibly ripped and their legs spread apart.

Videotaped interrogations of some of the captured terrorists show them confessing that they had orders to murder, rape and kidnap Israeli civilians. One suspect told Israeli interrogators he and his men had received religious permission to kill children "because they’ll grow up to be soldiers" and to decapitate "to sow fear among the Israelis."

First responders from both the Israeli military and the country’s civilian services have described in detail the disturbing brutality and atrocities carried out by an estimated 3,000 Hamas and other Palestinian terrorists who entered Israel Oct. 7.

 A commander with the Israeli army’s National Rescue Unit told journalists in the initial days after the attack that he had found multiple bodies of dead women who had been stripped naked. In one case, on Kibbutz Be’eri, Col. (Res) Golan Vach, said he found two women tied together on the same bed with no clothes on. 

"I don’t know what happened to them before they were killed," he said. "But I do know that most regular women go to bed wearing pajamas."

In another case, a soldier from the army’s special forces unit who was sent to search for survivors on a kibbutz told one media outlet he found the dead bodies of two young girls together in one room.  

"There was a teenage girl, 14 or 15. She was lying on the floor, on her stomach, her pants were pulled down, and she was half naked. Her legs were spread out, wide open, and there was the remains of sperm on her back," he said. "Someone executed her straight after he brutally raped her.

"It was like a slap in the face," the soldier said. "It was the first time I realized that we are not acting against terrorists here, we are acting against savages."

In the morgue, too, those working to identify the dead and prepare their bodies for burial spoke about brutalities consistent with rape and sexual assault. 

"We saw evidence of rape," Shari, who works with a team of female volunteers tasked with cleaning the bodies of murdered women, told Fox News Digital in a previous interview. "Pelvises were broken, and it probably takes a lot to break a pelvis. … And this was also among grandmothers down to small children. These are things we saw with our own eyes."  

Speaking this week on a Zoom panel organized by the Maimonides Society at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Cochav Elkayam-Levy, chair of Israel’s newly formed Civil Commission on October 7th Crimes by Hamas Against Women, said her team had also been working to compile a database of gender-based atrocities "to ensure that the Oct. 7 victims of sexual and other violence against women are never forgotten and that their stories are adequately told."

Elkayam-Levy, a legal expert from Hebrew University added, "We established the commission on the eighth day of the war as more and more evidence of gruesome crimes against women and children emerged," she told the panel.

She said that even though some of Hamas’ crimes, which were broadcast in real-time on social media, "showed clear violations of international law and brutal crimes committed against women and children," there was little international condemnation. 

"Therefore, we took it upon ourselves to call for recognition and action," Elkayam-Levy said. "We also realized that these crimes must be documented and brought to the attention of the international community." 

"This is not an isolated event in history where crimes against women can be ignored. What we’ve seen in Israel were rape and gender-based crimes under clear orders and under full control.

"It was rape unto death, rape as massacre, rape and crimes made to kill and torture women, using them and their bodies as an instrument to force exile of those communities in Israel. It was rape to be seen and heard by others, women’s and girls’ bodies used as spectacles of victory, trophies of war."
