She Didn't Like Mexican Food, and She Doesn't Like US Housing
Hat tip Gateway Pundit
Remember when we posted that video last year of a Honduran migrant woman in Tijuana who was complaining about the free food she was being provided? (The video is no longer viewable in the above link because YouTube terminated Vlad Tepes' account.)
Well, she wound up in the US and now she is under arrest in Dallas because she assaultred a woman who was providing housing for her. Her name is Mirian Celaya, aka Mirian Zelayagomez, aka Mirian Zelaya Gomez. Take your pick.

I wonder what she thinks of the food in the Dallas hoosegow.
Fortunately for us, Texas is not a sanctaury state like California.

Why the Criticism of William Barr is Unfair
This article first appeared in New English Review.
Now that the Mueller investigation has finally come to an end, Democrats, the media, and Hollywood celebrities are having a major hissy fit trying to figure out how to keep the collusion mantra going. Some have accused Mueller of being a Russian agent just like President Trump. Far fetched? Of course, but that's the direction that the Democrats and media have gone.
Then there is the matter of Attorney General William Barr, newly appointed by Trump and confirmed by the Senate. Barr is a much respected professional who served as AG under George H W Bush. He is a convenient target not only because he is a political appointee, and a Republican, but wrote a memo back in 2017 criticizing Mueller's investigation of possible obstruction of justice by the president. His critics are now charging that he took the Mueller report and made the final call on whether to charge any crimes. Thus, the reasoning goes, the final call was made by a political appointee of the president.
On the surface, that may sound like a reasonable argument. The problem is that this is the procedure that was supposed to be followed. The special prosecutor was, indeed, tasked to submit his final report to the attorney general. He could make recommendations, such as to charge certain people or not to charge. Mueller's judgment was that no further indictments were called for, there was no evidence that Trump or his campaign colluded with the Russians, and finally, he could make no conclusion as to the question of obstruction of justice by Trump.
More importantly, it would have been far more troubling had Barr overruled the conclusions and recommendations of Mueller. The special prosecutor situation is somewhat unique within federal law enforcement, but it can be compared to when investigators from a federal agency, like the FBI, present a case report to the US Attorney's Office. When the investigative team, in this case, led by Mueller, submits its case report to the prosecutor, in this case Barr, it is the latter who makes the decision on whether to go ahead with prosecution, indictments etc. If the investigators cannot present a prosecutable case to the prosecutor, it would be the height of folly and unethical for the prosecutor to indict. If the investigators want to charge someone, they need to present a solid case to the prosecutor. (Again, consider Mueller to be the investigator here.) This is something Mueller failed to do.
On the other hand, had Mueller presented a prosecutable case to the attorney general, and Barr declined to prosecute, then the Democrats would have an argument. Of course, this is not even taking into account the legal question of whether a sitting president could be prosecuted in the first place.
There is much to criticize Mueller about over the manner in which he conducted this two-year investigation. In the end, he presented, in my opinion, an honest and proper conclusion as to the president. Barr has followed his role to the letter. If the Democrats in Congress want to keep beating this dead horse, they do so at their political peril.

Gavin Newsome's Cruel Treatment of Victims' Families
For some time now, California, firmly under Democrat control, has been plagued by lousy governors. From Grey Davis to Arnold Schwarzenegger (a Republican) to Jerry Brown to the current governor, Gavin Newsome, we have been led by a succession of sleazeballs.
Newsome will probably outdo all of them. This month, he announced a moratorium on California's death penalty. To make things worse, he preceded that by inviting about half a dozen murder victims' family members to Sacramento ostensibly to discuss victims' rights issues. That was when he stunned his guests by announcing that he was calling a moratorium on executions.
One of those present was Marc Klaas, whose 12-year-old daughter Polly, was raped and murdered back in 1993 by Richard Allen Davis, who is currently on death row. Klaas has given a videotaped statement on this outrage which is being disseminated by the California Republican party. What Newsome did was an outrage, not just by halting executions, but by cynically using the families of the victims as a prop for his announcement. Klaas was also interviewed by ABC.
The video of Klaas by the California Republican party can be accessed here.
To the rest of you who don't live in California, get ready. In 5 years, Newsome will be running for president.

Vatican Press Says Ship Hijackers Acted out of Need
Hat tip Vlad Tepes
Under Pope Francis I, the Vatican has become an advocate for unlimited migration into Europe for anyone who shows up on the shores of the continent no matter how much of a burden, no matter how much of a danger they pose. The South American-born pontiff regularly lectures Europe on the moral necessity of opening its borders to one and all. Murders, rapes, riots and acts of terror cannot dissuade Francis of the folly he is preaching.
This week, we have witnessed a cargo ship actually hijacked by migrants it had plucked out of the waters off Libya. Yet, the Vatican press incredibly defends the actions of the hijackers.

Matteo Salvini Weighs in on Hijacked Ship

Norman Finkelstein Sighting in Canada
Hat tip Campus Watch and The Medium
Norman Finkelstein in front of Muslim Brotherhood poster
Audience members who attended Norman Finkelstein's talk at the University of Toronto at Missassauga on March 6 no doubt learned what we in the US have known for years. The aging anti-Israel activist is a total crackpot. The disgraced, discredited (and fired) former professor from DePaul University now makes his living traveling from campus to campus bashing Israel-usually on behalf of pro-Palestinian student groups.
And talk about timing. Days after Finkelstein told the enraptured Pals of Palestine that Israel had no right to defend itself, the Jewish state had to do just that when the little rascals of Hamas started firing more rockets into Israel necessitating the proper response.
https://themedium.ca/news/anti-israel-activist-speaks-at-utm/
I also note that Normie has a new title. He is now an "acclaimed political scientist". The last time he cast his shadow over the campus of UC Irvine, he was advertised as an "independent scholar with a PhD from Princeton". I guess when you don't have a real job, you can call yourself whatever you want. Just don't call him "Norm". He doesn't like that. During the aforementioned show at UC Irvine, he blew up when a student questioner (who was actually sympathetic) called him "Norm". "I am not your friend," Pal Normie admonished the student. But that's Norm. He likes to bully kids in the peanut gallery.
Finkelstein and his PhD remind me of the old adage that to get a PhD is to be educated out of the last ounce of common sense you were born with. He proves it.
Finkelstein's last known teaching gig was somewhere in Turkey (how ironic). That dried up too. He could have stayed and become court jester to Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Now, according to reports, he sits alone in his Brooklyn apartment in between speaking gigs, surrounded by his diplomas and waiting for the phone to ring. The last known time he appeared on TV was when he blew up and "stormed" off the set in 2016.
But lest you think Finkelstein is just a harmless, lovable, well-meaning fool, consider this. Twice I have witnessed this bird deny the (documented) fact of pro-Palestinian protesters shouting for Jews to be sent to the ovens and praising Hitler. It's all on videotape, but Norm denies it-here in 2009 and here in 2013.
So maybe Finkelstein was simply ignorant of these incidents? Not likely. Following the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is his entire raison d'etre. Even if he didn't know in 2009, when someone brings it to your attention, you normally check it out. By 2013, the "acclaimed political scientist", the "independent scholar with a PhD from Princeton" had had four years to "research" the question posed to him. Yet four years later, he was still denying what would have been readily available to him on the Internet.
DePaul University had no idea what they were doing when they hired this character, but they sure knew what they were doing when they fired him.

German Police Thwart Salafist Terror Plot
Hat tip Gates of Vienna, Vlad Tepes and Miss Piggy for translation
Wiesbaden
German police in the state of Hesse have arrested ten supects whom they say were planning a terror attack in Germany. You can watch the German news report in the below link from Gates of Vienna-with English sub-titles. As GoV states, it is important to note that the reporter identifies the suspects as Salafist Muslims and mentions the large scale problem they have in that region (Frankfurt-Wiesbaden) with Salafists. Salafism is one of the severest forms of Islam and is an acute problem in Europe.

Muslim Leader in Spain Wants King to Apologize for Reconquista
Hat tip Vlad Tepes. Translation by Fousesquawk.
"Apologize? We don't think so."
There must be a Spanish word for "chutzpah", but darned if I know what it is. After the new president of Mexico asked Spain for an apology for its conquest of Mexico, a Muslim community leader in the Spanish city of Seville sent a formal written request to the Spanish king asking him to apologize to the Muslim community for the Reconquista (when the Muslim rulers were driven out of Andalusia-Spain).
His name is Yihad Sarasúa, of the Ishbilia mosque in Seville (Sevilla). Here is a translation of the article from La Sexta.

His name is Yihad Sarasúa, of the Ishbilia mosque in Seville (Sevilla). Here is a translation of the article from La Sexta.
If a few days ago, it was the president of Mexico, Andres
Manuel Lopez Obrador, who demanded that King Felipe VI ask for forgiveness for
the conquest (by) Spain, now a mosque in Seville is doing the same but for the
Reconquista (Reconquest).
The Ishbilia mosque has published a post on Facebook under
the name of the Islamic Community itself and its president, Yihad Sarasua, in
expressing “the sentiments among Spanish Muslims and those who for certain
reasons, reside in Spain, for the lack of conciliation between the Crown and
the heirs of the Andalusian legacy.
“Sir, being the King of Spain, I believe that the historical
moment has arrived to carry out the recognition of the vileness, plunder, displacement
and murders carried out by orders of the Catholic kings and their most direct
collaborators, which culminated with the surrender of Granada and the breach of
everything subscribed to the Muslim community,” reads the letter.
Besides, he adds that the Muslims were subjected to a “constant
persecution” that left “millions of dead”: “Never has existed such a fierce
persecution and eagerness to eliminate a religious community, as was carried
out by the old Spanish royalty in the times of Felipe II, (an) extermination
that culminated in the War of the Alpujarres subsequent to the Pragmatic
Sanction of 1567”.
This is why King Felipe VI is asked by the mosque to apologize
to his community. “As a descendant of the aforementioned kings, what a
formidable opportunity you would have to demonstrate to the Muslim community
your respect and your discrepancy, with the Islamic theses, apologizing to our
community for so many atrocities and interceding for the recognition of Spanish
nationality for the descendants of Al Andalus, as was done with the Sephardic
Jewish community."

Fousesquawk comment:
Maybe the Russians should apologize to Germany for driving the Wehrmacht out of the USSR, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary etc. during World War II. Maybe all the allies should apologize to Germany for driving them out of France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and other countries during WW II. Maybe we should apologize to Great Britain for the American Revolution. We could go on and on with this game. More specifically, however, maybe the entire Muslim world should apologize to Spain for invading and occupying Spain in 711 AD. That occupation and rule lasted 7 centuries until the Reconquista sent them packing.

Migrants Hijack Ship off Libyan Coast
Hat tip Vlad Tepes
The Mediterranean migrant crisis took a new turn today when a cargo ship rescued 108 migrants at sea off the coast of Libya. As the ship was taking them to a port in Tripoli, the migrants took over the ship and ordered the pilot to take them north in the direction of Europe. The Maltese Navy
intercepted and boarded the ship, which was then taken to the Maltese capital of Valletta. Naturally themigrants pirates are facing serious charges.
Now that we have seen a case of sheer piracy on the high seas, the EU leaders need to wake up and stop giving Italy and her interior minister, Matteo Salvini a hard time. Ships are now on notice that they pick up migrants at sea at their risk.
Update: La Stampa reports three men taken into custody. The others taken to reception center.

New Zealand: Muslim Leader Blames Mossad and Jewish Businesses for Mosque Massacre
As all decent people grieve for the victims of last week's massacre of Muslims carried out in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, we must also note that some people are not handling the tragedy in a dignified manner. It's not that the country's prime minister is walking around in a hijab in her show of solidarity with the country's Muslim community. It's not that her government is preparing to declare New Zealand a "gun free zone". Let's be fair; New Zealand was not used to things like this. I guess the world has caught up with New Zealand, which has now lost its innocence.
What the Hell am I talking about? I have never been to New Zealand, which by all accounts, is a breathtakingly beautiful country with lots of nice people.
Yet, I will comment on the asinine and dangerous remarks made by one of the country's leading imams, a man named Ahmed Ghamji. He's not just any imam. He was the one who introduced the prime minister when she visited his mosque to show her solidarity. But now Ghamji has publicly identified the people who must have been behind the Christchurch killer. It was the Israeli Mossad, their security agency, aided by local Zionist businesses. They are the ones who Ghamji "suspects" supplied the financing for the killer, which I guess consists of his two semi-automatic rifles and ammo. Maybe they also bought him the car he used as well. Oh, and the airline ticket from Australia to New Zealand.
Islam expert David Wood of Answering Muslims has made a video describing Ghamji's remarks (also on video). Wood also goes into why all this enmity towards Jews.
So what is Ghamji's evidence of Israeli/Jewish complicity in the attack? He has none. He just threw it out there because for him and his ilk, the Jews are always guilty of everything. They are-as that old saying in the Koran says-"the worst of creatures".
So now that "Islamophobia" has officially arrived in New Zealand, we can also note that Jew hatred is there as well. How it arrived in New Zealand, I will not venture a guess. After all, I have never been there.

Being Old and Infirm in Merkel's Germany
Hat tip Gates of Vienna, Vlad Tepes and Miss Piggy for translation
This is a heartbreaking video of an 84-year-old pensioner in Germany. Johann Schulz lives alone without any family in a campground. Gates of Vienna describes Schulz's plight very movingly. Today, Germany moves heaven and earth to accommodate mostly young male fortune-seekers posing as refugees from the Middle East and Africa while Germans like Schulz are reduced to living without heat and toilet facilities.

The Smollett Farce
I suppose people have wasted enough words on Jussie Smollett both after his hoax was revealed and now that the Cook County State Attorney has inexplicably dropped charges. Both Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel and police chief Eddie Johnson are outraged. One thing is for sure: The people who are responsible for dropping charges need to give a full explanation as to their reasoning. If not, an investigation needs to be launched. As it now stands, this really stinks. Smollett will forfeit his $10,000 bond and has done 16 hours community service for Jesse Jackson's outfit. Really?
Normally, defendants forfeit their bail when they fail to show up for court, not when charges are dropped. That's when they get their bail back. The police maintain that the expenses they ran up investigating this case ran into 6 figures. Ten thousand dollars doesn't begin to cover it.
And there are Smollett and his attorneys brazenly insisting that he had told the truth all along. To add injury to insult, the case record has been sealed!
I strongly suspect that some very influential people got involved in this matter, thus, leading to charges being dropped for no explicable reason. It cries out for an investigation.

My "Interview" With CAIR in the Clarion Project
Shireen Qudosi, a Muslim reformer who writes for the Clarion Project, did a nice write up on my "interview" with a representative of CAIR at the Ilhan Omar protest in Woodland Hills on Saturday.

I have often mentioned Shireen (a UC Irvine grad) on this site. Along with people like Zuhdi Jasser, she is a Muslim who opposes Islamists like CAIR. People like her are deserving of our support. She has a website, linked at Fousesquawk, called the Qudosi Chronicles.

What Happens When a German Girls' School Opens its Doors to Male Refugees
Hat tip Gates of Vienna, Vlad Tepes and Nash Montana for translation.
"Wir schaffen das." (We can do this.)
Right, Angela. In your Germany, you can build a container town for male refugees right next to a girls' school, open the cafeteria to the refugees, and ..... I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
Then one day a couple of Arab guys walked through the cafeteria and took offense when the girls failed to show the proper respect by getting up from their seats. One of the girls, who was Syrian understood their remarks in Arabic and asked them why they would talk like that in Germany. That's when all Hell broke loose.

A Spanish Town Learns About a Gang Rape-One Year Later
Hat tip Vlad Tepes and Gates of Vienna. Translation by Fousesquawk.
One year ago, in the Spanish municipality of Azuqueca de Henares ( Guadalajara) a 12-year-old Spanish girl was dragged into an apartment and gang raped by approximately 6 young Moroccans and one Nigerian, mostly minors between 15-20. Arrests were made and the prosecution resulted in jail sentences for the accused based on their age. One defendant, who was of adult age, received a stiffer prison sentence.
Now, however, the town is just learning of the incident. City officials are demanding that the mayor explain to them why this incident was kept hidden from the public.

Some Thoughts on the Woodland Hills Protest
“I say raise hell, make people uncomfortable,” Omar said, according to the publication. “Because here’s the truth. For far too long, we have lived with the discomfort of living as second class citizens and I’m tired of it.”
There are lots of videos and news reports going on about Saturday's protest at the CAIR event at the Hilton Hotel in Woodland Hills featuring Ilhan Omar and Hassan Shibly. I was there from about 3:30 to 5:30 and left before it ended. Aside from what I have already posted, here are some of my observations.
I am not an expert on estimating crowds, but I am guessing there about 1,000 people present. The only ones who showed up to demonstrate on the other side of the street were Jewish Voice for Peace advocates like former b-actress Estee Chandler, and about ten representatives of the Marxist National Lawyers Guild, who were distinguished by their lime green caps. There were also some inter-faith type folks and people with signs reading, "I stand with Ilmar". One guy showed up in priest-type robes as if he were going to hold a mass. The total was about 20. They mostly stood silent.
Our crowd consisted of a good mix of people, older, younger, Jews who came to speak out against anti-semitism, and a few folks with Israeli flags. There were, of course, many American flags. There was also a large contingent of Trump supporters with MAGA caps and other Trump paraphernalia. It was a boisterous crowd and a couple of people brought bullhorns (unfortunately). Someone who had rented a room at the Hilton hung a white banner out the window reading, "CAIR hates Jews".The main purpose of those who organized the protest was to speak out against Omar's anti-Jewish statements and anti-semitism in general. That was why I showed up with two handmade posters denouncing anti-semitism. Some showed up who wanted to make a statement about things like sharia etc. As with any large crowd of protesters, some will say things that you or I might not say. Saturday was no exception, but 99% of the people conducted themselves appropriately. I had received an announcement from one of the chief organizers asking people to act respectfully.
Unfortunately, there were a couple of near skirmishes when some young guys showed up on our side of the street to yell things like, "F-Trump". In return, one of them, a young black kid about 20, was called the N-word repeatedly by a guy around 50 with a bullhorn. I was a witness because I was nearby. Many others on our side reacted strongly against it knowing it would be used to make us all look bad. Frankly, I am not sure whether this man was a plant from the other side because he was one of the most vocal people there, and was, frankly, obnoxious. I was tempted to confront this guy, but the cops were moving in and the last thing I needed was to get in a confrontation at such an event with the cops standing right there. In retrospect, I should have. I did, however, speak privately with the black kid a few minutes later and express my regret that such things were said to him. He and his friend shook my hand.
The local news media didn't give it as much play on the 11 0'clock news as I thought they would. The coverage was brief, most said that about 400 people were present, and virtually all of the channels only mentioned Omar's quote about, "It's the Benjamins baby" as being the reason for the protest-"which some considered anti-semitic". Really? One female local ABC news reporter gave fawning coverage to Omar and her remarks inside the event calling for justice or some such rot.
Which leads me to another point: Certain clips have shown Omar telling the CAIR crowd that they should "go out and raise hell and make people uncomfortable". She talked about all the "injustice" in America. This from someone who came with her family as refugees from Somalia as a child, the country that gave her and her family shelter and offered her the chance to get an education and get elected to Congress. Sorry, but this is one occasion you want to tell someone to get the hell out and go back where they came from. See how she likes life in Somalia. There, I said it.
As to those who chanted things like, "No sharia", while that's not my style at these events, I won't criticize them because we are really reaching the point where stronger things need to be said. As you can see from the "interview" I had with a CAIR representative that both he and I videotaped, I chose to take the high road even while telling him what I thought of CAIR and its local leader, Hussam Ayloush. I cannot swear, however, that 6 months from now I won't be chanting, "No sharia".
All in all, it was a darn good protest, and we made a strong statement about anti-semitism. I still maintain, however, that nothing good comes out of a bullhorn.
Michael Avenatti Charged With Extortion, Fraud and Embezzlement

Michael Avenatti, former lawyer to porn star Stormy Daniels, budding star on CNN, 2018 Fousesquawk Jerk of the Year, and would be 2020 presidential candidate, is in hot water again. He has been charged with attempting to extort Nike. CNN contributor and lawyer to numerous clients now on death row, Mark Geragos, is listed as a co-conspirator though not charged.

The William Barr Letter to Congress
This article first appeared in New English Review.
Having read Attorney General William Barr's letter to Congress regarding the completion of the Mueller investigation, I am amused by today's screams from leading Democrats questioning Barr's impartiality. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I am also struck by the stark difference between this letter and James Comey's July 5, 2016 statement to the public, in which he basically laid out a prosecutable case against Hillary Clinton then concluded that "no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case". This is when, "grossly negligent" was changed to "extremely careless" because the former phrase was contained in the language of 18 USC 973f, which did not require intent.
There were two issues that the Mueller investigation was supposed to address (not whether Paul Manafort was involved in crooked business deals years ago). Was President Trump or anyone in his campaign involved with the Russians in their attempts to meddle in the 2016 election, and did the President engage in obstruction of justice? In the first, Mueller found no collusion. In the second, he came to no conclusion one way or the other. As Barr pointed out in his letter, since there was no crime in the first instance, finding intent to engage in obstruction would be very hard to prove.
Barr also stressed that the decision not to recommend further indictments was not based on considerations of whether a sitting president could be charged. It was based on the lack of sufficient evidence. I would characterize it as lack of sufficient evidence as to the obstruction and lack of any evidence as to the collusion.
But that isn't enough for the same people who pooh-poohed the case against Hillary Clinton- a much stronger one, indeed. In the House, we can expect the Adam Schiffs and the Elijah Cummings' to hold more hearings, call more witnesses including Mueller and Barr themselves. They want every scrap of paper written by the Mueller team over the past two years, rumors, false leads, discredited statements, "golden showers", and all. There is no legitimate reason for all that to be made public, nor are they entitled to grand jury records, which are protected.
But let them proceed, I say. Let them continue to howl for Trump's impeachment. Most of the public will see right through it. They will pay the price in 2020.
The Democrats and the media stand today embarrassed. They had convicted Trump of everything but shooting Lincoln. All they have left from Mueller's report is that there was no conclusion that Trump didn't shoot Lincoln.

No Proof of Collusion-No Conclusions on Obstruction
Attorney General William Barr has released a 4-page letter on the findings of the Mueller investigation. In short, there is no proof of collusion by Trump or anyone associated with his campaign with Russian efforts to meddle in the 2016 election. The investigation reached no consclusions on the question of obstruction.

Ilhan Omar Protest in Woodland Hills, California
-LAPD had a large presence.
On March 23, 2019, Ilhan Omar (D-MN) spoke at the CAIR annual Valley Fund Raiser in Woodland Hills, California (Los Angeles). About 1,000 protesters were there. I was also present, and I took pictures and some videos. We only stayed until 5:30 so I don't know what happened after that until I watch the evening news. I will be posting video and photos probably tomorrow as well as some comments.
One representative of CAIR came across the street and interviewed a couple of protesters asking them why they were there. I was also interviewed. It went very well from our point of view. I very politely told him I was there to protest anti-semitism and also got a couple of shots in at CAIR and their SoCal director, Hussam Ayloush. (All in a polite and professional manner.) He only asked one other question as to whether my presence was due to anti-semitic comments or a Muslim in Congress. I told him that Muslims were free to run for political office in America, but my objection was more to their ideology and beliefs more than religion. I will let the video speak for itself as soon as I can get it up.
Here is an update from Liberty Unyielding, which has some details on yesterday's event and an announcement for Omar's appearance today in Irvine, location secret.

The Mueller Report
Yesterday, Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller delivered his final report to Attorney General William Barr, who is now reading it and will make a decision on how much to deliver to Congress and make public. That sounds on the surface to be suspicious, but it is not. The entire report might contain all sorts of unconfirmed innuendo, like the Steele Dossier, "golden showers" and the like. There is neither need nor justification for releasing that.
It is also reported that Mueller is recommending no further indictments. Is that a final victory for Trump? Not necessarily since Mueller had already indicated he would not attempt to indict a stirring president. The crucial question still remains though everyone seems top know the answer: There is no evidence linking Trump to the Russians in their attempt to influence our election. Weexpe3ct that answer shortly.
Already, the news media and Democrats in Congress are reacting in outrage. Adam "Shifty" Schiff (D-CA) says this isn't over and he plans to hold hearings, subpoena witnesses, including the Special Prosecutor, blah blah blah. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Chuckie Schemer* (D-NY) want the full report and the "underlying documentation" provided to Congress. That means "golden showers" and all. They want every negative thing said about Trump by interviewees, every false lead, every piece of paper, so they can track down those leads themselves for the next two years and continue to embarrass Trump. Barr should resist that and release the pertinent findings.
*That's not a misspelling on my part.
It's too soon to really pop the corks though that could come today. The central question is this: Was Trump and/or anyone in his campaign involved in colliding with the Russian to meddle in the 2016 election? I'm still betting the answer is no.

Turkey: Erdogan Threatens to Send Australian Visitors Critical of Islam Back in Coffins
Turkey's dictator, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made another outrageous threat this week. In the wake of the New Zealand massacre and with many Australians expected to attend the upcoming annual observance of the battle of Galipoli, Erdogan has stated that any Australians coming who are critical of Islam will be sent home in coffins.
I can only hope that Australians break diplomatic relations with Turkey. Other Western countries should consider doing the same as long as this man is in power. I have visted Turkey twice (in the 1980s) and have worked with their police. I formerly held a high opinion of that country, which has much to offer. But the country is going in the wrong direction. Under Erdogan, they can no longer be considered as a friend and ally.

University of South Dakota: Hawaiian Day or Beach Day
An anonymous reader sent me this, and I thought I would share it. South Dakota is a long way from Hawaii, but if you can't get there, you can at least have a Hawaiian day on campus, right?
Wrong. When a group of students tried to organize said event, they were told that it was "culturally insensitive" (the news reports say "incentive" for some reason) and should change it to "Beach Day". However, thanks to a new state law governing free speech and President Trump's new executive order, USD is back-tracking fast.

Let's be sane here: There is no rioting going on in Honolulu over this. A proper response would be if students at the University of Hawaii had a South Dakota day. I don't know what the hell they would do, maybe dress up like cowboys or wear Mt Rushmore faces.
As for the little rascals back in South Dakota, maybe they should just schedule a North Dakota Day. Again, I have no idea what they would do.
Defiance: University of California Responds to Executive Order on Campus Free Speech
UC President Janet Napolitano has issued a statement objecting to President Trump's executive order on campus free speech. Her words are petulant and false
https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/press-room/university-california-responds-executive-order-free-speech
"The executive order that President Trump signed today is unnecessary. Like many higher education institutions across the country, the University of California is ground zero for robust exchanges of ideas and differing viewpoints.
UC’s policies already align with applicable laws protecting free speech, a fundamental tenet of our democracy and the guiding principle of academic rigor. We have established a national free speech center to explore the evolving dynamics of the First Amendment on campuses. The university has spent significant resources on security and logistical support to facilitate the expression of diverse speakers and opinions. A simple visit to any of our campuses would underscore the superfluous nature of this executive order.
We do not need the federal government to mandate what already exists: our longstanding, unequivocal support for freedom of expression. That tradition is alive and thriving on all of our campuses. This executive order will only muddle policies surrounding free speech, while doing nothing to further the aim of the First Amendment."
As the late baseball great Gil Hodges used to say when arguing with errant umpires: "Horse feathers".
As a former part-time teacher in the UC system for 18 years, I can tell you that she doesn't know what she is talking about. While the issue is problematic all over the nation, UC campuses are among the worst offenders when it comes to conservative, pro-America, pro-Israel, pro-life, Republican speakers or activists being disrupted, their events cancelled, and they themselves sometimes assaulted. I have all the documentaion of 12 years of violations right here on this blog, videos and all.
Napolitano, an open borders advocate, was a disaster as secretary of Homeland Security, and she is a disaster running the University of California.
