Janet Napolitano Dodges Responsibility for Release of Illegal Aliens
2010 Fousesquawk Jerk of the Year Janet Napolitano
Janet Napolitano has embarrassed herself yet again. Now she is denying responsibility for the recent release of illegal aliens by her department and laying it off on underlings-just as the Justice Department did with Operation Fast and Furious and the State Department did with Benghazi.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/02/28/napolitano-says-regrets-surprise-announcement-illegal-immigrant-release/?test=latestnews
Does this woman have no shame?
The answer is no. Even if it was done without her knowledge, it points to an appalling lack of competence on her part.
In fact, I find it hard to believe that this didn't come from higher ups-that is- over Napolitano. It has become clear by now that President Obama is using this sequestration to make a political point. If it happens, the responsible thing for a president to do is to direct his agency and department heads to cut in ways that minimize the damage to the country. Using Obama's speeches as a yardstick, it is clear that he wants to maximize the damage to prove his points-as opposed to the way Reagan and Clinton dealt with government shutdowns. The priorities of our government were protected.
As a retired government employee, I can find lots of ways to save money. The first thing you do is cancel conferences and non-essential government travel. In less than essential agencies, you cut your numbers by attrition. When people retire, you have a hiring freeze. You also get rid of the fat and the government studies on the mating habits of the tse-tse flies (You laugh).
Personally, I hope the sequestration happens-whether it is about 44 billion dollars or 88 billion dollars or whatever. History will judge Obama on how he manages the cuts. He can act responsibly or he can act irresponsibly. The actions of Janet Napolitano's DHS in releasing illegal aliens indicates he intends to act irresponsibly.
More Gay-Bashing (Manchester, England)
Hat tip Gay Star News
"He asked others at the event, organized by the Global Aspirations of Women student group, whether God would agree to gay men being stoned to death. He was told he would."
Just a few days ago, I reported on an incident where hateful statements were made about gays during a Friday Islamic sermon at Cornell University.
http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2013/02/cornell-university-where-political.html
Now we have a similar incident at Manchester University in England. More specifically, justification was made for executing gays. They were captured by a video apparently used secretly by the man engaged in the discussion. Gay Star News has the report
http://www.gaystarnews.com/article/%E2%80%98kill-gays-kissing%E2%80%99-extremist-muslim-tells-manchester-students190213
This is why these meetings must be documented by video and audio. Here in the US, the various Muslim Student Associations (and Students for Justice in Palestine) often try to tell people in the audience that they cannot film. I don't know what the laws are in the UK, but in the US, at a public university holding a public event in public space, the right to record is clear. (When I videotape, I do it openly. ) In this case, it appears the other (Muslim) students did not know they were being recorded.
Those of us who oppose Islamism-and please know the distinction between an Islamist and a Muslim- and oppose sharia law in the West must make it clear that under sharia law, homosexual acts are punishable by death-just as is apostasy, blasphemy, and adultery. Don't take my word for it. Go to the sources and ask the Islamic scholars. (Caution: If you ask those in the US, they will obfuscate.) I suggest asking Yusuf al Qaradawy, who is regarded as one of the top scholars in the Islamic world. He will give you the straight skinny.
"That's right."

Another Monologue by Piers Morgan
Hat tip The Blaze and Mediaite
I was never a fan of Larry King, but at least he had the ability to listen to guests. Piers Morgan, on the other hand, is an obnoxious bore who tries to browbeat guests with whom he disagrees. Watch here as he talks right over John Lott while debating gun laws. Morgan is right out of the Chris Matthews School of Interviewing. He asks a question and cuts off the answer with more questions.
“I disagree with you passionately, but I respect your right to have your opinion,” Morgan concluded.
You just can't express it.

Human Rights Report on Indonesia
Someone alert the Organization of the Islamic Conference. There is religious defamation going on in Indonesia. Human Rights Watch has a report worth reading.
http://www.hrw.org/news/2013/02/28/indonesia-religious-minorities-targets-rising-violence
We all know that there is a deep split between Sunni and Shia, which often explodes into violence. In the case of Ahmadi Muslims, most Sunnis do not recognize them as Muslims. In Pakistan, they are also subject to persecution, and it is illegal for them to even call themselves Muslims.
This is timely because on March 6, there will be an Ahmadiya event at UC Irvine. I am curious to hear what they have to say.

Update on OIC's Anti-Defamation Push
Hat tip Frontpage Magazine
Deborah Weiss, writing in Frontpage Magazine, provides an important update on the on-going efforts of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to criminalize criticism of Islam world-wide.
http://frontpagemag.com/2013/deborah-weiss/oic-ramps-up-islamophobia-campaign/
Do not be fooled. When the OIC talks about defamation of religions, they only define Islam as a religion. In their world, Christians and Jews are defamed on a daily basis. Do you really think they aim to defend the Christians in Egypt or the Baha'i in Iran? Hardly.
The OIC's definitions are also contained within the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights, which they authored in 1990 when their name was the Organization of Islamic Conference.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cairo_Declaration_on_Human_Rights_in_Islam
It would be nice if the US, as the leader of the free world, would stop humoring and placating the OIC and make a clear statement that we will not abridge freedom of speech or religion and that the OIC should clean up its own back yard. But we won't do that. After all, France is now the leader of the free world.

The Fraud of "Pink-Washing"
Hat tip to Frontpage Magazine
"Now this pinkwashing campaign is coming to the City University of New York. A pinkwashing conference is being sponsored by the Gay and Lesbian Studies Center at The Graduate Center on April 10-11, 2013."
Alan Dershowitz has written a pretty effective response to the latest tactic of Israel's enemies. You see, Israel is the only country in that region where gays can live freely and openly. Good, right? Wrong. You see, the pro-Palestinian crowd has turned it all around and is accusing Israel of "pink-washing" using the fact that gays are not persecuted to divert attention away from their supposed oppression of the Palestinians.
Brilliant!
http://frontpagemag.com/2013/alan-m-dershowitz/pink-anti-semitism-is-no-different-from-brown-anti-semitism/?utm_source=FrontPage+Magazine&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=0819f68ae4-Mailchimp_FrontPageMag
Here is how gays are treated in Iran:
No pink-washing there (pink cleansing, perhaps.)
I mind you that photo may be a bit dated. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claims that there are no gays in Iran, which may be true if they have hanged them all. As for the other hell-holes that surround Israel, they subscribe to sharia law, which mandates a death sentence for homosexual acts.
But to point these things out amounts to "pink-washing" and that's bad.
And to think that City University of New York will be the scene of such an event put on by the Gay and Lesbian Studies Center (!!??!!) is pretty indicative of the logic of the left-to say nothing about the state of education in this country.

More "Education" in Texas
Student punished for refusing to recite pledge of allegiance to Mexico!
One of my readers took me to task a few days ago for reporting a story out of Texas for what they are teaching about Islam. Well, here's another example of the indoctrination that goes on in schools down there "deep in the heart of Texas".
http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/american-student-punished-for-refusing-to-recite-mexican-pledge.html
I must confess; when I was studying French in college, we once sang the Marseillaise. I was so inspired I often post the lyrics here when I am writing about France. (I won't subject you too it here.) Yet, I am sure, I could have opted out had I wanted to. One reason I didn't refuse was that our French teacher was drop-dead cute, I had the hots for her, and I would never have done anything to piss her off.
But I digress.
This is an example of multi-culturism being perverted to something that is destructive. It is fine to respect other cultures, and I certainly do, having lived 11 years of my life in other countries and learning a few languages along the way. However, the multi-culturism that I live virtually every day has nothing to do with this Multi-culturism (with a capital case M). The latter is designed by the "central planners" to wear away our identity as patriotic Americans. How is it that you can opt out of reciting the pledge of allegiance, but you cannot opt out of reciting the pledge of allegiance to another country? The only Mexican I have to pledge allegiance to is my wife, Commandante Fousesquawk.
The world is turning upside down before my eyes.

Western Regional Muslim Student Association Conference Part 3
Hat tip Frontpage Magazine
I am cross-posting Mark Tapson's report on the annual Muslim Student Association Western Regional Conference held last week at UC Santa Barbara. This is part 3.
http://frontpagemag.com/2013/mark-tapson/inside-the-muslim-student-association-conference-part-3/
It was inevitable, wasn't it? Note the references to "white privilege" and "American imperialism". Also note the bowing and scraping prostration of USC in the wake of the David Horowitz appearance three years ago.
It is truly sad and alarming to see young people isolating themselves from the larger society, but in the end, we must accept their own words. Is this really a "brown vs white' society we live in? I don't think so, but it seems these young people think it is- or want it to be. I still place the primary blame on the adults who are indoctrinating them-not just the Siraj Wahhaj's, but the university administrators (like Michael Jackson at USC) who are enabling them.

Sean Hannity and Keith Ellison
Hat tip Daily Caller
Representative Keith Ellison (D-MN) has discovered the secret of not having to answer direct questions. He just keeps talking over the question and insulting his host. Watch here as the obnoxious congressman from al Shabab goes up against Sean Hannity.
Ellison is emblematic of why our country is falling apart. He is only in Congress because his constituency in Minneapolis consists of the very folks who are turning the city into a crime-infested hellhole (Somalis). This is the guy who called for Somalis in Minnesota who ran back to join the al Shabab jihad in Somalia to be allowed to return home and be given a second chance. He is a race-baiter who in 2007 dressed down a black prosecutor in Louisiana implying he was an Uncle Tom for not prosecuting some kids for a racially-tinged schoolyard stunt in which nooses who hung from a tree.

If Mr Ellison is so against "yellow journalism" and "shilling" for a particular party, why does he appear frequently on MSNBC?

Let's Play,"What the Hell Happened Today in Afghanistan?"
"Let's get right to it, shall we?"
"Sure."
The choices are:
a The Taliban poisoned then shot 17 policemen to death at an outpost
b President Karzai announced a crackdown on corruption
c President Karzai arrested his brother for corruption
d Afghanistan opened an embassy in Kyrzakhstan
"Hmmm. It could be "d". I heard John Kerry say something just this week about Kyrzakhstan. Besides, it's always "d".
"Final answer?'
"Can I call a friend?"
"Yes, who do you want to call?"
"John Kerry."
"John Kerry speaking."
"Hey, John. What the Hell happened today in Afghanistan?"
"The answer is "d".
"Thanks." (click)

Our New SecState Wows'em in Berlin

Great choice, Obama
John Heinz-Kerry is in Berlin where he spoke to a group of schoolkids. We'll let PJ Media pick up the story.

“In America, you have a right to be stupid if you want to be, and you have a right to be disconnected to somebody else if you want to be, and we tolerate it. We somehow make it through that. Now, I think that’s a virtue. I think that’s something worth fighting for.”
“Sehr gut, danke. Alles gut. Deine schuhe sind fantastisch, ja?” the secretary of State said. (Translation: “Very good, thank you. All is well. Your shoes are fantastic.”) He apparently meant to say the schools were fantastic.
Fantastic shoes
He could have said, "Ich bin ein Berliner", which means "I am a jelly donut".
Next time, John, you better take that multi-lingual wife of yours along.
Too bad that kid never got his question answered. The correct answer is that our Muslim teenagers tend to be more assimilated than the ones in Europe, but John couldn't have said that, could he?
Big dope!

DHS Releasing Hundreds of Illegal Aliens
Janet Napolitano- 2010 Fousesquawk "Jerk of the Year"
"You can roll your eyes, Fousesquawk."
(That's what she told me at UCLA.)
Just like Janet Napolitano predicted this week, that danged sequester is going to really hurt us. To prove her point, DHS is releasing hundreds of illegal aliens-not deporting them-releasing them due to lack of money.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/02/26/dhs-to-release-thousands-illegal-immigrants-blaming-budget-cuts/
Brilliant, Janet! That 'll show us.
You gotta hand to Janet the brain surgeon Napolitano. Her three biggest priorities in protecting the Homeland are the Dream Act and advertising the benefits of American food stamps to would-be illegal immigrants in Mexico.
"Ah wunnerful, ah wunnerful, ah."
Now this (#3).
Question for Janet: What is government's primary responsibility?
Answer: Protecting the citizenry. Especially when you are are named Department of Homeland Security.
George Galloway Stands by his Man-Bashar Assad
George "Haw Haw" Galloway "They're coming to take me away"
In Britain, nobody exemplifies the alliance between the far-left and murderous regimes more than comedian George Galloway. This fool was not only an ally of Saddam Hussein and his murderous sons in Iraq, but still supports the Hamas terrorists in Gaza (who in the last 24 hours have just sent another missile into Israel). But here is the latest on Galloway's support for Bashar Assad and his murderous regime in Syria. The first article is dated this month. The second, an interview with Galloway is from February 2012.

Today, Rep. Henry A. Waxman, Ranking Member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, spoke on the House floor as a member of the Safe Climate Caucus. The Caucus members have made a commitment to talk every day on the House Floor about the urgent need to address climate change.
Rep. Waxman spoke out on the Government Accountability Office’s historic decision to put climate change on the High Risk List because of the serious threat it poses to taxpayers in the United States.

And here, Handsome Henry is touring an El Segundo assembly line.
"This here is an assembly line, Congressman."
"I used to be an assemblyman once."

Jay Carney Says
As President Obama is off campaigning again appearing before backdrops of cops, doctors, lawyers and Indian chiefs talking about how the Republicans must prevent sequestration from kicking in, some dare say that it was he who came up with the idea in the first place. It was he who pushed Congress on a bi-partisan level to support this monster. Now here we are again, everybody in Washington running around like chickens with their heads cut off because the date is fast approaching when it kicks in. If that's not bad enough, Obama et al are calling writer Bob Woodward a liar because he has quoted Obama taking ownership of it in his book. Obama said during one of the presidential debates that the sequester "was not something that I've proposed. Congress proposed it." Woodward takes issue with that.
http://communities.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/conscience-conservative/2013/feb/20/sequestration-was-obamas-plan/
Then there is the question of whether Obama and his boys moved the goal posts by adding on tax hikes-or were they in the original plan?
http://nation.foxnews.com/sequester/2013/02/25/woodward-obamas-sequester-deal-changer
And in the middle of all this is the ever-hapless Jay Carney, who has to answer all the questions from the White House press corps. He is in attack mode against Woodward. But here is what he said to Fox's Bret Baier on February 12:

The Big Gasp
This is what happens when Big Government steps in to "save the ozone layer". The issue in this case is asthma inhalers.
"Gasp"
http://www.aafa.org/display.cfm?id=8&sub=16&cont=550
Here is the rest of the story.
http://www.savecfcinhalers.org/
Here is a personal testimony from a friend of mine who has been affected:
"Well, Albuterol asthma inhalers top the lists on meds on any formulary as it is used for young, old, and for any standard breathing treatment in hospital, and the standard is Albuterol as a "rescue" inhaler. When the CFC was removed....to save the ozone layer.... the "formula" for the inhaler was technically changed, thereby removing it from the "generic" meds and sending it back to "brand name", so the insurance companies can charge and arm and a leg (for me $55) for the "new" formula, which by the way, takes up to 8x the amount to work as well as the old CFC. In other words, what used to be controlled by 1 "puff" of a CFC inhaler, might be controlled by about 5-8 puffs by the new kind. So, there you have it - the cost has gone from $5 to $55, and it takes 8x the amount to get any effect. Do the math on that.
Glaxo-Smith-Klein is the biggest maker of albuterol inhaler. Follow the money...."
What's next-a ban on farts? Do they make their way to the stratosphere too and cause harm to the ozone layer?

Cornell University-Where Political Correctness Collides With Political Correctness
Hat tip Daily Caller
What does a college or university do when a protected group is attacked by another protected group?
Ah, the joys of celebrating Multi-culturalism. (Yes, that's with a capital m.)
On February 15, an unidentified speaker giving a sermon at the Muslim Friday prayers at Cornell University made hateful statements about homosexuals.
http://dailycaller.com/2013/02/25/ivy-league-muslim-prayer-service-filled-with-homophobic-invective/
I encourage the readers to follow the link to the Cornell Sun and read the comment thread.
I can well understand that the university has to carefully think out what their response will be. It will obviously omit certain facts. Already, the speaker's name is being protected. The university statement will basically state that on February 15, a speaker made hateful comments about a group of people and that said speaker does not speak for the university. The event will not be mentioned nor the sponsoring organization nor the offending comments.
And that will be it.
They already have the template from UC Irvine. In May 2010, when Amir Abdel Malik Ali spoke at UC Irvine on behalf of the Muslim Student Union during the annual anti-Israel week of events, he told a Jewish questioner from the audience that he supported Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, and Jihad on campus- then told the Jews in the audience, "You Jews-Y'all the new Nazis." Chancellor Michael Drake refuted the statement two days later without naming the speaker, the event, the sponsoring organization, the comment, or the offended group.
http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2010/05/uc-irvine-chancellor-drake-condemns.html
On a more positive note, I do commend the Muslim students who spoke out publicly against the statements made against gays. I suggest they follow up and research the Islamic texts to see exactly what the Islamic position is on homosexuality. I expect they will be getting lots of questions about it from their non-Muslim friends.

Janet Napolitano Warns of Doomsday as Sequestration Approaches

Janat Napolitano- 2010 Fousesquawk "Jerk of the Year"
Only a few more days until the world comes to an end according to Janet Napolitano.
http://weaselzippers.us/2013/02/25/white-house-trots-out-big-sis-to-warn-of-terror-attacks-if-sequester-isnt-cancelled/
That's right. President Obama is trotting out out all his cabinet folks like Napolitano and Transportation Secretary Ray Lahood to tell us all the horrible things that will happen if Sequestration goes into effect. How can we survive if the government can only spend 15 billion dollars more than it did last year?
Who knows? Maybe the cutback in flights means all the cardinals won't be able to get to Rome to elect the new pope. Maybe the world will have to go 6 months before we have a new pope.
That's right. Fewer flights means longer lines at airports means fewer passengers means fewer passengers to jump on would-be underwear bombers so that the system can work perfectly, right, Janet?

Fousesquawk's Oscar Coverage
I have one comment on last night's Oscars.
It was a masked ball (like every year), and that is all I care to say on it.
Now let's get back to the real world.

Robert Menendez, Daily Call Girls, and Daily Caller
Hat tip Daily Caller
"You have a call, Senator."
The Daily Caller is running a bunch of stories on Senator Robert Menendez today-all tied around his alleged relationships with prostitutes. A high-level call girl has claimed she serviced the senator.
http://dailycaller.com/2013/02/24/long-time-escort-confirms-senator-bob-menendez-paid-her-for-sex/
But there is an explanation for all this. Menendez is being hounded because of his race, you see.
http://dailycaller.com/2013/02/24/bob-menendez-plays-race-card-blames-conservatives-for-scandals/
“Now we face anonymous, faceless, nameless individuals from right-wing sources seeking to destroy a lifetime of work,” Menendez said at Shiloh Baptist Church.
“And their smears are false. I have worked too hard and too long in the vineyards, too long with my hands, for the harvest to be soured.”
And when the Daily Caller called Menendez's office, they got hung up on by an aide.
http://dailycaller.com/2013/02/25/bob-menendez-flack-denies-new-call-girl-charges-hangs-up-on-the-daily-caller/
Here is the actual transcript of the call-provided exclusively to Fousesquawk:
"Senator Menendez's office."
DC: "May I speak to Senator Menendez, please?"
"Yes, of course. Who is calling?"
DC: "The Daily Caller"
"Of course, I will put you right through. The senator is expecting your call."
"Excuse me. Did you say you were the daily call girl,?"
DC: "No Ma'am. The Daily Caller. C-A-L-L-E-R."
