France: Amid All the School Riots, Now a Shooting at a Marseille School

Hat tip Le Figaro

For the past couple of weeks, many schools in major French cities have been rocked by student riots. Naturally, they are a mixture of far-left, migrant, 2nd-3rd generation, Islamist, and pro-Palestinian protesters claiming they are protesting poor school conditions, which is a poor excuse.

Now comes this: This morning in Aubagne, just outside Marseille, a 14-year-old, not further identified, opened fire at a school, wounding the school principal and a teacher before being disarmed. The shooter's parents have also been taken into custody. That is all that is known at this point. We will continue to follow the story.

*Update (October 14, 2026)

Le Figaro reports that the shooter is reportedly a member of some group of true crime followers of mass shootings. Meanwhile, the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office has taken over the case. There is still no word on the ID of the shooter (which due to his/her age) is not expected to be released) or motive.
