Hat tip Memri TV
UC Berkeley professor Hatem Bazian, just one of a huge number of "academics" embarrassing the UC system, is at it again. Speaking on August 15, 2025, at a Muslim community center in Folsom, California, he attacked Israel, Netanyahu, and President Trump, as well as Zionism and opposition to anti-Semitism itself. He accused Netanyahu of wanting to take over countries like Egypt and Saudi Arabia! At least he didn't mention Argentina. Memri TV has posted several clips from his rant.
Bazian, who is originally from Nablus in the West Bank, somehow made it to our shores as a student at San Francisco State University. While a student there, he acquired a reputation as an anti-Semitic agitator on campus. He was noted for a number of inflammatory statements, like calling for an intifada in America and telling his listeners to count the number of Jewish names on university buildings. After getting his degree, he hung around, got more degrees, and became a professor at Berkeley.
In addition to all that, he is the co-founder of a number of notorious organizations and entities, including Students for Justice in Palestine, American Muslims for Palestine, and the UC Berkeley-based Islamophobia Research Project.
Over the years, I have heard Bazian speak three times, twice at UC Irvine and once at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. In short, I consider him toxic, and in my view, his words have contributed to the climate of anti-Semitism that exists at UC Berkeley and other campuses, within and outside the UC system.
