UCLA has suspended the campus chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and Graduate Students for Justice in Palestine for their protest held outside the home of a University of California Regent, Jay Sures, earlier this month, in which his house was vandalized and neighbors were harassed. This is a welcome development. The LA Times has the report here. The LA-based Jewish Journal has a report here.
It is not enough, however. SJP and its related organizations have repeatedly shown all across the country that they will not conduct themselves in a civilized manner. Instead, they resort to tactics of vandalism, occupation, and intimidation of Jewish students. SJP should be permanently banned everywhere.
