There has been a horrific knife attack today in a shopping mall in a suburb of Sydney. What is known is that a lone attacker went on a rampage with a knife stabbing several people, killing 6 and wounding others, including a baby who is in critical condition. The baby's mother was killed.
As yet, the attacker has not yet been identified publicly though he is reportedly known to police. The police have further announced that they do not believe terrorism was involved.

We will await the identification of the attacker before commenting any further.
*Update: Sydney police have announced that they are searching a storage facility. The spokesman adds that to date, there is no indication that the attack was related to any ideology, and that the suspect had been suffering from mental illness.
