Biden's State of the Union

Just a few observations about President Biden's State of the Union address tonight.

I don't want to take issue with his words on Ukraine except to comment on his announcement that he is releasing millions of barrels from our strategic reserves. It would have been a lot better had he said that he would open the door for drilling in our country, reopen the Keystone Pipeline, make our country energy independent-as it was under President Trump- and be in a position to make up for the loss of Russian energy in Europe. But, of course, he won't do that.

His statements on the police were contradictory. Disgracefully, in the same breath that he mentioned the two New York City police officers recently murdered, he spoke of holding the police accountable. Something for everybody, eh, Mr President?

When he spoke of ending the opioid crisis in our country, he talked about coordinating with state/local police. That's an empty sentence in itself, but what he should have said is that he will secure our border not just from illegal aliens from Mexico and an increasing number of other countries around the world, but from drugs as well. Most of the illicit drugs in America pass through the Mexican-US border.

Other than that, it was just the usual laundry list of various issues-blah blah blah. At times, he was incomprehensible, with no transitions between topics. When he talked about his Supreme Court nominee, he mentioned her name one time and then suddenly-with no transition, switched to the next topic. It makes you wonder who wrote the speech.

As for the two faces sitting behind him (Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi), they made the image of the SOU even more preposterous.

Just today, we learn that Harris said this in a radio interview.

"Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine, so basically that’s wrong."

Are you kidding me? Was she speaking to a group of elementary schoolchildren?

"Once upon a time there was a country called Ukraine....."

And all I can say about silly Nancy Pelosi is that she probably needs to have her false teeth re-fitted. At times, I thought they were going to fall out of her mouth.

Meanwhile, the bombs keep falling on Kyiv and Kharkiv.
