The identity of the Oregon shooter has just been released. He is Chris Harper Mercer, 26.
Certain sites are associating this person with a certain My Space site with the same name which shows a young man with a rifle and Irish Republican Army images. I am going to withhold that for the time being pending further clarification from official sources.
In addition, I am going to await further details on the shooter and his motive before commenting on President Obama's call for more gun control as a response to this latest shooting.
