Who says our government isn't in control of our immigration system? The Justice Department is attempting to have a German family deported because they are home schooling their children and given the strict laws in Germany against homeschooling, they face the risk of losing their children in that country. Todd Starnes at Fox News has this troubling report.

"In their latest court briefing, the Justice Department referenced international court rulings that held “parents could not refuse the right to education of a child on the basis of the parents’ convictions, because the child has an independent right to education.”
Here we go again. International court rulings. What about US law? If I am not mistaken, we do have provisions in this country for home-schooling subject to certain conditions. My question is whether this family has violated any US law that would justify their deportation? Granted there may be an argument over whether the family are valid refugees from Germany, but cannot a middle course be found that would allow them to remain in this country in a locale that allows home schooling/
How interesting that with all the illegal aliens and other questionable people in this country that we can't seem to deport, Eric Holder's Justice Department would jump into this issue.

Don't you see, Gary, it is the ONE WORLD utopia. No more sovereign nations or rules. What the Americans want for themselves and their children doesn't matter. The entire world should be one big happy EU, unanswerable to anyone.
Under the leadership of our wonderful president and State Department, led by Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton, we have signed on to being just another country among many and following their rules. He eschews our leadership role and apologizes for our "arrogance."
Soon, everybody will be equal and we will all be significantly poorer... but that's ok. Like Obamacare, healthcare will be worse and more expensive, but it is intended to be equal (except for certain favored elites).
It is the Vision of the Anointed.

Miggie,
Yes! Just like John Lennon envisioned.
Imagine....
What the Justice Department is doing is really no more than arguing that this is no basis for political asylum. That's not the same as deporting them FOR homeschooling.
The department's arguments, however, are terrible. My non-expert evaluation, as a citizen who keeps up on the laws of OUR republic, is that if home-schooling is not a criminal offense in the United States, and it is a criminal offense in the country of origin, they should qualify for asylum.
Of course I'm wondering how Gary would respond if it were a Muslim family from Germany making the same claim.
