Breaking: Morsi Ousted by Military Coup
-Frontpage Magazine
Mohammed Morsi has been ousted by Egypt's military, and the action is being greeted by huge masses of public support in Tahrir Square and other parts of Egypt.

It is hard to tell where this will go, but the military may be the only entity able to restore stability to Egypt.
Of course, this represents yet another foreign policy embarrassment for President Obama, who has supported Morsi and warned the military not to overthrow him.
Meanwhile, Ikhwan Web, the Muslim Brotherhood's English language web site, has not yet reacted to the event. They are still running stories about "huge pro-Morsi " demonstrations, violence committed against pro-Morsi demonstrators etc . Their reports seem to be in direct contradiction to the flag-waving scenes on Tahrir Square at this very moment. You can access Ikhwan Web on this blog under "Fiction Section". It is well worth following.
When I was living in Thailand in the 1970s, I experienced a couple of coups including one in which the Thai military-then the biggest power- removed the prime minister from office. It was nothing like this, however.

Shades of 1953.
This could break in a lot of bad ways, but at present it looks like it could be a good thing.
