Meanwhile, Our "Friends" in Egypt......

Hat tip Weasel Zippers

Protesters climb U.S. Embassy walls in Cairo
This is how our "friends" in Egypt are remembering 9-11 at the American Embassy. Tearing down US flags and replacing them with the black flag of al Qaeda.

They must be thanking us for that 2 billion bucks we give to them every year, right?

* Update: Vlad Tepes has two videos showing the barbarians at our embassy.

There are also reports of our consulate in Benghazi, Libya being stormed by grateful Libyans.

President Obama-wherever you are on the campaign trail, there is something going on that requires your attention. Don't let our embassy in Cairo suffer the same fate as the embassy that once was in Tehran. Is it not time to at least consider a temporary withdrawal of official American  personnel from Egypt?

As it is, the embassy has announced that the visa office will be closed Wednesday due to the protest.
How about closing it until further notice?

And predictably, our State Department put out this statement (since the protest was supposedly about some film made in the US that insulted Mohammed):

The U.S. Embassy said that it "condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims -- as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions."
"Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy," the statement said. "We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others."
