Ghost Rioters in Amiens: First Arrests Made

"Zut alors! There has been a riot. Now to find the culprits."


Finally, the French police have made some arrests (5) as a result of the riots in Amiens. Of course, nobody is supposed to know who the culprits are. (Everybody knows, but they cannot say.)

Wow. They chose not to arrest anybody during the riots for fear of further inflaming the situation.

How many pictures did you see of the rioters in action? One or two, and those are pretty shadowy. Mostly what you see is the destruction or the cops walking around. There are a couple of shots of the French Interior Minister being shouted at by a couple of community members, but that is about all.

The plain and simple fact is that the rioters are young males from the Maghreb, former French colonies of North Africa (Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco) as well as sub-Saharan Africa. OK? Was that so hard to say? What is racist about that?

Solutions? For starters, they could start arresting the culprits in the act before they cause over 360 million Euros worth of damage to the city. They could also inform the public of the danger that exists. You cannot solve a problem unless you are willing to name the enemy.

They might also think about bringing back Devil's Island.
