In Sweden, Anti-Semitism Continues Unabated

Hat tip to Hudson Institute

The below article is written by Soeren Kern. It appears in the Hudson New York (Institute) Blog. It concerns the on-going growth of anti-Jewish hate in Sweden, in particular in Malmo, Sweden's third-largest city, of which I have written often.

Malmo's mayor, Ilmar Reepalu is an complete disgrace. He sits there and watches his long-standing Jewish population leaving in droves due to the harassment they receive on the streets, mostly from a restive Muslim population. Reepalu blames the Jews themselves for their predicament because he is pro-Palestinian. If they want to leave, let them, he says. Meanwhile, the same troublemakers who are making life miserable for the Jews periodically riot in the streets and burn cars when they perceive some affront.

Sweden, as we all know, elected to sit out World War II and remain neutral. Neutral Sweden even allowed not-so neutral Germany to transport troops and supplies through Swedish territory to and from occupied Norway. Now "oh-so-tolerant" Sweden is repeating their shame by allowing their Jewish citizens to suffer persecution. There is a vast difference between tolerance and tolerating intolerance.
