American flags in trash bags allegedly left behind by the DNC. What's the story, DNC?
According to several reports, 12,000 miniature American flags were found by a vendor in 84 trash bags at Denver's Investco Field after Obama's speech. The vendor reportedly rescued them and turned them over to a group that used them for a Republican rally.*

I am willing to keep an open mind on this incident. Any explanations from the DNC would be welcomed and published here.
* I earlier reported that the flags were sent to St Paul for use in the RNC Convention. That was in error, and I have made the correction. The flags were delivered to a Republican rally in Colorado.

I read about this in today's paper. The Democrats are accusing the Republicans of having stolen them.
While I do think that it's proper to have a certain etiquette and respect for the flag, I think that people make too much of things like this (and flag lapel pins).

I have been trying unsuccessfully so far, to upload other photos which more clearly show that the flags were in trash.
Radarsite blog (which which I am linked) has received over 2,000 Democratic responses to their article on this. Most are from Hillary Clinton Forum. Most of these express regret and embarrassment at the treatment afforded the flags. Some pass it off on the Obama crowd as being uncaring.
Most of the responses from Obama-identified links are defensive and describe it as "Republican theft" of the flags or an attempt to embarrass the Dems.
One way or another, I don't think that it was any of the higher-ups in the Democratic party who was in charge of the flags.
Personally, I think either one of two things happened:
1. Somebody got careless and goofed.
2. Obama personally gathered all the flags he could, tossed them in the trash, and then he began chanting "Death to America!" over and over again. He capped it off by high-fiving Osama bin Laden and raising a toast to terrorism. (With grape juice, of course, seeing as how he's a secret Muslim.) Afterwards, he left to go perform some abortions.
It's one of those two - but I'm just not quite sure...

I'll go with number 2.
Seriously, certain people would never get so careless with American flags. Some would. Peoples' attitudes can come out in unusual ways.
I agree, and I'd like to think that I wouldn't be so careless. Honestly, one of the reasons why I've never had a flag waving outside my house is because I'm afraid that I'd get careless and let it fall to the ground or something.
But the bottom line is, whoever is to blame, it would be disingenuous to blame Obama or the majority of the Democratic party. If these were indeed tossed out, I'm sure that there are a lot of Democrats who are upset.
Also, if Republicans did steal them, it wasn't McCain or anybody of major consequence.
Basically, somebody did something stupid.
