Italy Clearing out Migrant Camps

Hat tip Gates of Vienna and Vlad Tepes

Italy is starting to close down migrant camps beginning with the Beobab camp in Rome. Gates of Vienna has a report along with a videotape translated by Fousesquawk and sub-titled by Gates of Vienna and Vlad Tepes.

Michael Avenatti: "The Rent's Too Damn High"

Lawyers are supposed to be models of success. They pride themselves on driving fancy cars, so everybody can see how great they are. Some even have such big egos that they even envision themselves running for president once they get their 15 minutes of fame.

That brings us to Michael Avenatti, who, until a few weeks ago, was a rock star on CNN because he was representing a couple of women named Stormy Daniels and Julie Swetnick. I won't waste any more type on who they are. You can google them if you don't know. In the midst of all this, Avenatti began telling people he was seriously thinking of running for president. Then he got busted this week for allegedly beating up a woman in Los Angeles.

Now, Avenatti's law firm has been evicted for non-payment of rent.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/avenattis-law-firm-evicted-from-california-offices-over-unpaid-213g-rent

So it would appear that Avenatti's presidential aspirations are up in smoke, but there is some good news for the embattled lawyer. He is now solidly in the running for the Fousesquawk Jerk of the Year award.

The Jim Acosta Ruling: Incomprehensible

Yesterday, a federal judge in Washington ordered the White House to restore the press pass of CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta. This follows Acosta's pass being pulled after his disruptive behavior at a press conference held by President Trump.

Perhaps just as troubling, Judge Timothy Kelly has not even explained the rationale behind his ruling. Conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin called the judge's office and asked a staffer for the reasoning or whether the judge would post the reasoning for purposes of public information. He got nowhere.

To me, this is a blatant case of the abuse of judicial power. Where does it say that Jim Acosta or any other reporter has a right to a White House press pass? Where is the law that deals with that? What allows a judge to dictate to the Executive Branch how they run the White House? We have already seen renegade judges trying to tell the Executive Branch that they cannot deny visas to people who may pose a threat to the United States.

One might argue that the action of taking away Acosta's pass was petulant. Even so (and I don't agree that it was), there is no legal point here. It is not against the law to be petulant. The White House sets the rules. If you don't believe that, try to just brush past the Secret Service security guards at the gate. For a judge to say that the White House cannot enforce its rule of behavior is absurd.

Jim Acosta's behavior since Day One of the Trump presidency has been unprofessional, arrogant and rude. He views his role as doing everything he can to discredit this particular president. It is OK to ask hard, critical questions, something CNN rarely did under President Obama. There are rules of decorum, however. You can't take over a White House briefing to the exclusion of other reporters who want to ask questions in a limited time frame. You don't refuse to surrender the microphone to an intern as Acosta churlishly did. Acosta embarrassed his employer, a fact lost on CNN and the other networks who rushed to his defense.

So where do we go from here? I would guess that Trump will instruct his press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, not to call on Acosta at the briefings. Does Judge Kelly step in again with an order that Acosta must be called upon? Does he find Ms Sanders in contempt if she refuses to call on Acosta? Does he throw her in jail? Absurd, you say?

It's already absurd.

Will Canada Step Up For Asia Bibi?

Hat tip Vlad Tepes

Now that we know that the leaders of the UK are too cowardly to offer asylum to Asia Bibi, the Pakistani Christian woman who was originally condemned to death on trumped up charges of blasphemy (against Islam), the question is-who will as mobs take over the streets in that hellhole of a country (Pakistan) howling for her death.

In the below article in the Toronto Sun, Candice Malcolm urges Canada to grant asylum to Bibi.

https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/malcolm-canada-should-step-up-for-pakistani-refugee

Personally, I doubt the government of the ever politically correct Justin Trudeau will incur the wreath of the Muslim mobs anywhere in the world. At the same time, I hope that our own government will step up and offer Bibi refuge.

Nigel Farage Lets Angela Merkel Have it

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will think twice before she attends another European forum where Britain's Nigel Farage is present. In this video from Vlad Tepes, Farage gives Merkel an earful over her immigration policies and her call for a European army.

https://vladtepesblog.com/2018/11/15/nigel-farage-thanks-merkel-for-making-brexit-a-reality/

The EU is increasingly taking on the characteristics of the old Soviet Union. It wants to punish the UK for its decision to leave and it wants to punish Eastern European members for refusing to take in migrants from Africa and the Middle East. Now leaders like Merkel and Macron of France are talking about the need to defend themselves against Trump's America. What's next? Will we see EU tanks rumbling through the streets of Budapest and Prague as did Soviet tanks in 1956 and 1968?

"Heigh ho, heigh ho
It's off to jail I go"

While never taking pleasure in seeing a woman beaten up, there has to be a perverse pleasure in seeing the sudden crash and burn of publicity-seeking attorney Michael Avenatti. The man who represented porn actress Stormy Daniels and her accusations against Donald Trump and a woman named Julie Swetnick who accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault now stands accused of beating up a woman. He has been arrested and charged in Los Angeles. Avenatti denies the charge.

This is a guy who only burst on the scene recently and has had already expressed interest in running for president (of the United States).

In addition, it was CNN and MSNBC, in their never-ending drive to destroy the Trump presidency, who had made this man into a rock star with his constant talking head appearances representing women who claimed to have been victimized by Trump and Kavanaugh respectively.

Three Africans in custody for gang rape Björn's garden

Published November 12, 2018 at 10.27
DOMESTIC. There are two Somalis and an Eritrean man now in custody for rape against a woman in Björn's garden in Stockholm on Friday. They are also detained for robbery.

It was at midnight of Friday-to Saturday that a woman contacted police and told her that she had been raped in Björn's garden at Medborgarplatsen in Söder, Stockholm.
The event is classified as aggravated rape, and the victim is a 20-year-old woman.
Immediately after the incident, however, the police were able to arrest three perpetrators who are now in custody.
This concerns three African men who are 18, 20 and 29, respectively. They were detained on Sunday on probable cause suspected of aggravated rape and robbery.
According to information obtained by Fria Tider, one of them needs interpreting in Arabic and another in Somali.
Two of the men are citizens of Somalia and the third in Eritrea. It is therefore about newly arrived immigrants.
The district court's document indicates that the rape occurred over half an hour between 23.15-23.45 on Friday. The robbery must have taken place at the same time and in the same place as the rape.
All were arrested at 00.13 on Saturday, then minutes after the rape occurred. The prisoners  are in custody at Södermalm.
The men deny crimes.

Is The EU the New Soviet Union?

Hat tip The New American.com

Sure looks like it

Every day, the European Union is looking more and more authoritarian towards its member states.  Formed originally to supposedly prevent European nations from going to war ever again, the Brussels-based bureaucracy is resembling the old Soviet Union more and more.

It's not just that they micromanage things from the size of beer glasses and cucumbers. That's the least of the problems. The EU dictates policies to its member states that encroach upon their sovereignty and the rights of their respective citizens.

Nowhere is this more frightening than the  EU's efforts to crack down on free speech, specifically when it comes to Islam, the ideology that threatens to take over Europe if it is not halted. Now we have a EU resolution that calls for those who criticize Islam to be prosecuted.

https://www.thenewamerican.com/world-news/europe/item/30600-eu-resolution-demands-critics-of-lgbt-and-islam-be-prosecuted

This, of course, is right in line with the on-going efforts of the 56-member nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the UN's largest voting bloc, to get the UN to have all nations pass laws criminalizing criticism of Islam. Then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met at least twice with the OIC behind closed doors in Washington and Istanbul to discuss this issue. We don't know what was said. Presumably, she explained to the despots of the OIC that we had something called the First Amendment in the US, but during that time, she publicly assured the world that her government would "shame" Islamophobes.

Meanwhile, the Dutch government has, in fact, prosecuted Geert Wilders, leader of the Freedom party and a persistent critic of Islam and Muslim immigration, while the Austrian government convicted and fined activist Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff for her comments about the Prophet Mohammad, a ruling just affirmed by something called the European Court of Human Rights (located in Strasbourg, France, would you believe? At least it wasn't in Moscow.)

Let's be specific here. There is no organized effort in Europe to enforce a one religion law that excludes all religions outside of Christianity. If anything, the continent has been drifting secular for decades. What is happening here is that they are trying to stifle any discussion of a very serious issue. Muslim radicals are on the march, starting wars, committing acts of terror worldwide, and trying to destroy other religions. Christians in the Middle East are the targets of genocide. Jews in Europe are being targeted for violence while Jewish students on US college campuses are being targeted for bullying if they express any pro-Israel beliefs. Meanwhile, Western mosques (not all) are reverberating with calls to violence by radical imams. These are grave issues that affect our safety, security and very existence. There is ample evidence in Islamic texts and teachings that would lead a reasonable person to believe that horrors we are seeing around the world are rooted in Islamic doctrine, which the terrorists and hate-filled imams themselves tell us.

If only we would listen to them.

The point is that we have every right to discuss these issues. We have every right to demand that our feckless leaders (with a few exceptions) take steps to protect us, by closing borders to certain immigrants when appropriate. What we do not have the right to do is attack Muslims on the streets or attack their places of worship. If hate speech is coming out of mosques, there should be a way to shut it down and deport foreign imams (and there are many) who are violating our principles and calling for hate and violence.

As for the EU, personally, I would like to see it collapse under its own weight if it refuses to reform and protect freedoms. It appears to have outlived its usefulness.

SJP Conference Looms Over UCLA

This article first appeared in Times of Israel.

Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) will be holding its national conference at UCLA from November 16-18. A few years ago (February 2011), SJP held its Western regional conference on the Westwood campus. That featured the anti-semitic Oakland imam, Amir Abdel Malik Ali, leading his audience in the "pledge of allegiance", which bore no resemblance to the one most of us recite here in the US. Ali's "pledge" swore to fight to the death on behalf of Islam, jihad, and all that charming stuff.

There is much opposition to this year's conference, as well there should be. SJP is anti-Jewish to its core. No matter that they have a few misguided misfits of Jewish background. They are all for the total destruction of the Jewish state of Israel.

Here is an op-ed that the feckless UCLA chancellor, Gene Block, has written in the LA Times regarding the conference.

With all due respect, Mr Block is full of it. For years, he has allowed Jewish students at UCLA to be bullied and intimidated by the likes of SJP, the Muslim Student Association, and other pro-Palestinian forces. He is hardly alone among UC chancellors. From UC San Diego to UC Berkeley and in-between, it's the same old story. For 20 years, I have seen it first-hand on the UC Irvine campus where I taught part-time from 1998-2016. In the past two years since I stopped teaching there, I have attended subsequent events where the bully-boy antics of the SJP have been on full display. Their tactics are simple: disrupt, bully and intimidate. They are a disgraceful and despicable organization.

And look who is headlining this year's freak show at UCLA. The keynote speaker is Chicago-based Palestinian activist, Hatem Abudayyeh. Here is what Discover the Networks has to say about Abudayyeh.

Abudayyeh was an outspoken supporter of Rasmieh Odeh, the Palestinian woman who was convicted of terrorism in Israel, hid that fact while immigrating to the US, and was finally deported after lengthy and costly legal proceedings. All the while, she appeared in front of the courthouse where she was being tried shouting into a bullhorn to her followers about how unjust America is. And this guy Abudayyeh was one of her biggest boosters.

Lovely fellow. Just what SJP wants to represent them. We should all draw the appropriate conclusions.

As Chancellor Block stated, SJP has the right to free speech. But make no mistake. From November 16-18, hate speech will be on display at UCLA. With the new outbreak of fighting between Israel and the Hamas regime in Gaza, no doubt the rhetoric at UCLA will get even more heated. The 2016 UC Statement of Principles Against Intolerance, which Block referenced, will be violated to the point of making it nothing more than a scrap of paper.

Asia Bibi Will Find No Refuge in UK

Hat tip Creeping Sharia

We have been reporting on the plight of Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian woman who was imprisoned for 8 years for the "crime" of "blasphemy". Facing  death sentence, that country's high court overturned her conviction. Yet, Asia must remain in custody because all over Pakistan, mobs are in the streets demanding her death. Clearly, asylum is in order.

But it won't come from Britain. That country's feckless leaders are afraid of their own restive Muslim population, many of whom are of Pakistani origin.

https://creepingsharia.wordpress.com/2018/11/11/no-uk-asylum-for-asia-bibi/

I hope the US offers asylum to Bibi. And if the Pakistanis don't like it, they can go to hell. Any retaliation by the local mobs (or government mobs), as happened in Iran and also in Islamabad during that same era should be met with a suspension of relations.

Anti-Semitism in Britain's Labour Party

Is this news? In the UK, there is a probe into allegations of anti-semitism within Britain's Labour Party.

https://www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/police-open-investigation-into-labour-antisemitism-allegations-1.471899

Hardly surprising since Labour's leader, an odious character named Jeremy Corbyn, is well known as an anti-semite.
