Hillary, Aides Can Be Deposed in Judicial Watch Suit

Hat tip Judicial Watch and Squid

This could be very significant. A federal judge has ruled that Judicial Watch can depose Hillary Clinton and her top aides as to why their Freedom of Information request was stonewalled by the State Department for 6 years.

http://www.judicialwatch.org/?utm_source=EmailDirect.com&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=Tom+on+Fox+2-23-16+Campaign

A Clinton campaign spokeshole quickly condemned the ruling as part of the right wing attack against Hillary's campaign. He was then reminded that Judge Emmet G. Sullivan was appointed to the District Court of Washington DC in 1994 by Bill Clinton.

Jasbir Puar's Academic Supporters

Hat tip Alums For Campus Fairness and Campus Watch

Andrew Gutierrez (UC Berkeley)
He signed twice.

In spite of Rutgers University Professor Jasbir Puar doing her best impersonation of Julius Streicher in her recent speech at Vassar, she has hundreds of academics who have lined up to sign a letter in her support. Of course, that also includes some very questionable signatures.

http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/15617

Here is the letter in Puar's support, which says that "her words were chosen carefully and were grounded in serious scholarship and thorough  research" referring to Puar's charges of Israelis harvesting organs of dead Palestinians and engaging in "weaponized epigenetics".

The fact is Puar provided no evidence for her charges, but her words were "chosen carefully and grounded in serious scholarship and thorough research." Had that been so, don't you think Puar would have provided evidence for her wild accusations?

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1aJBcvnhQ0ZiFarqDmlBlEx-RzbmGtiiA7doPp-40yxI/viewform?c=0&w=1

And who are these academicians who signed this letter? Obviously, I am only familiar with a few, but here they are. The ones I know of are all regular anti-Israel activists who use their positions to preach the "evil" of Israel far and wide.

Judith Butler (UC Berkeley- She signed twice.)

Here is a link that describes my interaction with Butler when she spoke at UC Irvine in 2015. I asked her a question during the q and a and followed up with a letter to her, which she never responded to.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2015/05/an-open-letter-to-professor-judith.html

Rabab Abdulhadi (San Francisco State University)

This woman was mentor to the General Union of Palestinian Students at SFSU, some of whose members engaged in violent expressions in 2013 exhibiting a desire to kill Israel soldiers. She was also the subject of a suspicious trip to the Middle East for which she received school funding, but reportedly did not attend a conference for which the funds were reportedly allocated. Last May, she was supposed to appear at UC Irvine on behalf of the Muslim Student Union's annual hate fest against Israel. For some mysterious reason, she didn't show up. I sent her a letter, but she, of course, never responded.

Lisa Hajjar (UC Santa Barbara) Another regular on the anti-Israel seminar tour. Hajjar told a Jewish audience member during a q and a at UCLA in 2009 that he "had his Zionist hat screwed on way too tight."

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2009/02/ucla-symposium-on-israel-and-gaza.html

David Lloyd (UC Riverside)

Dr Lloyd gave me a demonstration of his idea of scholarship when he sponsored co-founder of BDS, Omar Barghouti at UC Riverside. When I asked if the school might consider exposing its students to the other side of the issue with a pro-Israel speaker, he termed the question, "preposterous".

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2014/01/omar-ingrate-barghouti-touring.html

Here is the video:

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2014/01/video-of-omar-barghouti-at-uc-riverside.html

David Palumbo-Liu (Stanford)

Another anti-Israel regular. Just recently I caught his act at UC Irvine, where he stated that the State Department definition of anti-Semitism included the mere criticism of Israeli policies (not true). When confronted with his mis-statement after the event, he turned tail and ran from his accuser rather than defend what he said.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2016/01/freedom-of-expression-debated-at-uc.html

Rashid  Khalidi (Columbia)

Khalidi is a Palestinian-American who was buddies with Barack Obama, Bill Ayres and Bernadine Dohrn back in their Chicago days. He was also at the center of a story about how then US Senate candidate Obama told Khalidi that once he got to the US Senate, he could take a harder stance against Israel. The tape of that conversation is still in the hands of the LA Times, who refuse to release it.

Sondra Hale (UCLA)

Though now a professor emeritus, Sondy is  a member  of the highly partisan and highly anti-Israel Center for Near East Studies.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2012/01/even-radicals-retire-at-ucla.html

Bettina Aptheker (UC Santa Cruz)

We all remember Bettina from the 1960s, don't we?

Angela Davis (UCSC) Who could forget her?

David Shorter (UCLA)

Shorter is the UCLA professor who was putting his pro-BDS views on a UCLA web server.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2012/04/shorter-saga-continues-at-ucla.html

Lisa Duggan (NYU)

Lisa is a BDS supporter who is president of the American Studies Association-which also supports BDS.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2014/01/asas-incoming-head-lisa-duggan.html

Richard Burt (Univ of Florida) This is the unusual fellow I saw recently at UC Irvine talking about the Dead Poets Society or some such nonsense supposedly related to freedom of expression.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2016/01/freedom-of-expression-debated-at-uc.html

Andrew Gutierrez (UC Berkeley, signed twice)

Here's a winner. I first posted about this charming fellow when he was captured on video heckling and giving the finger to Jewish students who were peacefully protesting the appearance of swastikas at UC Berkeley in 2010. Retired now, he spends his afternoons with his wife, a member of Women in Black who pester students at the university with harangues about the evils of Israel.

http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/2010/05/uc-berkeley-professor-objects-to.html

Richard Falk (Princeton) Former UN Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories. This man's one-sided reporting against Israel was so odious even the State Department distanced themselves from him.

Steven Salaita (University of Beirut) This is the lovely fellow whose job offer at the University of Illinois was rescinded after he went on social media in the wake of the kidnapping of three Israeli teenagers in the West Bank. Salaita penned his hope that "all settlers would go missing." The three teens were later found murdered.

But this gets better. They even have signatures from a few students, one identified only as Bryant, a PhD student from the University of Miami and Hanan, a post-doctorate fellow from who knows where as well as Caitlyn (nfd) a PhD student from Texas A&M.

Then there is Alison (nfd) an asst professor from Rutgers and Prantik Saha (nfd) , location unknown.

But now it really gets better. How about these three giants of academia?

Crime in Berlin

Hat tip Gates of Vienna, Vlad Tepes and Shirley

This posting by Gates of Vienna has a 7-minute news video of the crime situation in Berlin. Open air drug dealing, pickpockets, assaults-you name it. This is the new face of Berlin.

NY Daily News Blasts Vassar Lecture

Jasbir Puar
(Der Stuermer logo and "Der Jude"- The Jew- added by me)

Rutgers Professor Jasbir Puar's speech at Vassar recently made waves across the blogopshere for her venomous tone against Israel and Israelis, rhetoric that conjured up images of old canards against Jews. Now the NY Daily News has taken notice and weighed in.

http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/hatred-hudson-article-1.2538138

While Puar enjoys the freedom of speech to make such outrageous charges without providing one bit of evidence, Vassar has an obligation to do more than just affirm that right. They should condemn those remarks in the strongest tone possible. They should state exactly what Puar said, describe the event and the sponsoring organization. Rejecting BDS is not enough.

In addition, Rutgers should take a very close look at these remarks and decide whether they represent the viewpoints and values of Rutgers itself. Both institutions have been given a black eye by this event. Puar has become a psoter child showing the inherent Jew hatred behind the BDS movement.

This woman is a disgrace. Sadly, there are all too many like her infesting our universities.

Free Speech at Auburn Requires a Permit

"Shut up!"

I thought Auburn was a public university not a monastery. Campus Reform has a report along with a video of what happened when a group of students from Young Americans for Liberty at Auburn tried to pass out some flyers on the subject of free speech.

If You See Something, Say Something

That's what the DHS has been telling us for a few years now (probably the greatest achievement of Janet Napolitano's tenure). That's what happened in Miami this week when a couple of Muslim women began showing up at area synogues and asking questions about when there would be congregations.

http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/harmless-curiosity-media-downplay-muslim-women-casing-florida-synagogues

CAIR (Florida) is also following the story.

http://www.cairflorida.org/blog/muslim_woman_speaks_to_media_after_suspicious_behavior_at_synagogues.html

Would I have called the police? Given the situation we live in, yes. Let them investigate and determine if there is a threat or not. This should not be used as another excuse to yell, "Islamophobia". I note that the Florida chapter of CAIR is not accusing anyone of this as yet, just reporting it.

Juan Cole's Hit Piece on South Carolina

The Enlightened and Informed Juan Cole

If you ever go to hear University of Michigan Professor Juan Cole speak (as I have), you come away with the impression that he is a know-it-all. In fact, he runs a blog entitled, "Informed Comment". His latest piece is an example of his intellectual arrogance. In this piece, he "explains" Donald Trump's victory in the South Carolina primary. It is because, you see, voters in South Carolina (at least the Republicans) are a bunch of dumb, racist hicks who hate Muslims.

http://www.juancole.com/2016/02/trumps-sc-victory-and-anti-muslim-hatred.html#comment-375028

"But perhaps one unexpected indication as to why he won is Trump’s strident hatred of Muslims."

I think the word, "hatred" is a bit strong. After all, the harshest thing Trump has said on the topic was that he proposed a ban on Muslims coming to the country until the government figures out "what the Hell is going on". After all, that would be designed to save innocent lives, hardly an evil intent.

But it is Cole's demographic analysis on South Carolinians that I find objectionable along with his pronouncement that the "legacy of slavery and Jim Crow is hardly gone". Sorry, Dr Cole, but it is a new South.

And then there is this:

"Likely the large number of southern men who spend some time in the military is one explanation for this unusual concern with terrorism."

Of course. And what an evil combination that is. (Cole was an Army brat.)

At any rate, in a few days, Sotuh Carolinians will return to the polls and no doubt give Hillary Clinton another primary victory over Bernie Sanders. One wonders what Cole will say about them then. I know. He will say that those were the enlightened Democrats as opposed to dumb hick Republicans. Maybe he will say that those were a combination of African-Americans combined with enlightened Northerners who have retired to the Palmetto State.

As for Trump, I am starting to believe that he is winning national support largely due to his stance on the border and Muslim immigration. That just may run deeper than we all believed. If I am right, Dr Cole will find out that it is not just a bunch of dumb, racist hicks in South Carolina he can point the finger at.

Oh, I forgot. Cole did say that South Carolina is a lovely place with warm and friendly people. That sort of reminds me of how Trump talks about Mexicans out one side of his mouth.

*Update: I sent in my own comments to the reader thread, but they have not been posted. (This is not the first time.) Cole clearly does not tolerate opposing viewpoints on his blog.

Hillary's $500,000 Payday in Beaumont, Texas

Hat tip Creeping Sharia and Rebel Media

Remember last month when Hillary Clinton landed in Beaumont, Texas and ignored the 6 people who were there to greet her as her motorcade sped away from the airport? Well, no wonder she was in a big hurry. There was a check for $500,000 waiting for her from a Pakistani businessman. There is also a video clip from Rebel Media.

Isn't this the same woman who is talking about getting big money out of politics?

"Yeh, ah did."

That's right; in the classroom.

Republicans in the Senate Must Hold Firm on Supreme Court Nominee

This article first appeared in Eagle Rising.

Antonin Scalia

No sooner had we learned of the passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, than the politicians on both sides started talking about his successor. No wonder. Conservatives had been hoping fervently that President Obama would not get another Supreme Court pick, which would shift the balance of the Supreme Court if we lost one of our four solid conservatives. That is exactly what happened. Now the future of the Supreme Court, indeed, hangs in the balance. Elections have consequences, and that is being underlined at this time. Obama is president, and he has the right and the responsibility to name a successor.

However, elections to Congress also have consequences, and the Republicans currently control Congress. It is their responsibility to advise and consent.

Normally, I am one who believes in a straight up yes or no vote in Congress. We have seen so many ugly Supreme Court nominee battles in Congress, most notably, Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas.

In this case, the Republicans in Congress have options since they are in the majority. They don't have to confirm anybody until Obama leaves office. They don't have to hold hearings on Obama's nominee, and they don't have to bring it to a vote. It may not be fair, but that's the way the system is structured. The Democrats have used every tactic at their disposal when they were in charge, and it's time the Republicans learn to play some hardball.

The Dems are already yelling and screaming. They are calling on their supporters to lobby Congress to "do the right thing". But who are they to complain? When Obama was in the Senate, he participated in a filibuster against the nomination of Sam Alito. Both Senators Chuck Schumer and Pat Leahy are blasting away at Mitch McConnell's statement that nothing will happen until a new president is in office. Schumer said this week in an interview that Obama's term was for four years not three (meaning he didn't lose his responsibility to name a Supreme Court justice in his final, lame duck year). Yet in 2007, 18 months before the administration of George W Bush would end, he said that no Bush nominees should be considered except in extraordinary circumstances. (Make that 2 and 1/2 years for Bush, Senator Schumer.)

Leahy also showed his hypocrisy when discussing the Thurmond Rule, which he supported in 2006 when the Dems controlled Congress and now opposes with the Republicans in charge..

Granted, one can find hypocrisy on both sides. The Republicans screamed at Democratic tactics when they (the Dems) were in charge, and the Democrats are screaming now. Congress is a veritable sausage-making factory, and it isn't pretty. However, if the rules permit, the Republicans must hold firm and not consider an Obama nominee. The stakes are simply too high. If they cave in (once again) on this one, they have no right to ask for our votes.

Angela Davis Takes Her Poison to Ohio

Hat tip Camera on Campus

Image result for angela davis

Angela Davis is still conscious. Last I checked she was teaching something called the History of Consciousness at UC Santa Cruz (America's Wackiest University). This week she showed up at Denison University in Ohio to bash Israel. She also showed her appalling ignorance of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Camera on Campus points out her errors.

http://www.cameraoncampus.org/blog/angela-davis-and-the-israeli-palestinian-conflict/#.VskU9fkrLIU

I can think of no better argument in defense of Israel than to point out who her enemies are. Angela Davis is a shining example.

Hillary Clinton's Iran Connection

Hat tip Washington Free Beacon and Jihad Watch

This is disturbing but hardly surprising. As Hillary Clinton continues to scrounge for money from her big donors, she has now reached out to the National Iranian American Council, an organization that is clearly pro-Iranian and anti-Israel.

http://freebeacon.com/politics/clinton-pro-tehran-lobby-fundraiser/

President Hillary Clinton would be a continuation of the Obama presidency. She would appease our adversaries and screw our friends. It's not just Obama who wants to bring this country to its knees; It's the entire Democratic party.
