Erwin Chemerinsky Defends Judge Who Gave Reduced Sentence to Child Rapist

Orange County and LA are in an uproar over OC judge M. Marc Kelly, who reduced a mandatory 25 year sentence down to 10 years for a 20-year-old man who sodomized his three year-old half-sister. While criticizing the judge's decision, UC Irvine law school dean Erwin Chemerinsky takes the position in today's Orange County Regsiter  that it is inappropriate to recall the judge or ask for him to step down.

Chemerinsky is neglecting to add one thing to his op-ed: These judges do not hold lifetime appointments. They are elected by the voters. So who says we can't recall them or ask them to step down?

I-Fest (Israel Fest) at UC Irvine

This week, the Anteaters for Israel is holding its annual week of support for Israel at UC Irvine. If it is more low key this week it is because the Orange County Jewish Federation is not contributing any financial support this year, according to my sources.

On Thursday, the AFI students held a ceremony in honor of Israeli soldiers and civilians who have died  in attacks by Palestinian terrorists. I was there and videotaped it.

Rutgers Offers Course on "Hillary For President"

This is how bad it has gotten in the Ivy League. There is actually a course being offered on why we should vote for Hillary Clinton for president because she is a woman.

Princeton Professor Cornel West is an opponent of Israel who supports the BDS movement. Ironically, the misguided Jewish Studies Department at UCLA has invited him to speak at a commemoration May 3 honoring the late Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel.

In this open letter from UCLA Professor Judea Pearl, he asks West to cancel his appearance. He is simply not a fitting speaker according to Professor Pearl. I agree.

Liberal Democrat Calls Out Obama on Christian Persecution

Kirsten Powers is a Democrat and a liberal. She appears regularly as a Fox News contributor. While I often disagree with her on issues, they are honest disagreements, and I consider her to be intellectually honest. On the issue of the Christian persecution and genocide occurring in the Islamic world, she is attacking President Obama for not speaking out and calling it what it is. Powers was formerly married to a Coptic Christian from an Egyptian family and thus, has strong feelings on the subject.

There are so many things for this president to be ashamed of, but this ranks right at the top. When the final history is written, it will not be kind to this president unless he changes course soon. While Christians are being murdered every day in the Middle East, this president is busy bringing in Muslims by the tens of thousands while ignoring the plight of their victims. It is shameful beyond belief.

Kudos to Powers for having the courage to call out a Democratic president.

The Big Top Coming Back to UC Irvine

The Middle East is in flames. In Iraq, Syria and Libya, Christians are running for their lives. Those who are caught by ISIS are being beheaded. In Egypt, Coptic Christians are being kidnapped, their children stolen and forced to convert to Islam while churches burn. Yemen is in the middle of civil war. Iran is rushing pell mell toward that nuke with complicity from the Obama administration. African and Arab migrants are boarding leaky boats to escape poverty and war drowning in the Mediterranean, while Muslim passengers throw Christian passengers overboard. Suicide bombs are going off in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Sunnis are murdering Shi'ites and vice versa. In Europe, Muslim immigrants riot, burn cars and torment Jews. In the US and other Western countries, young Muslims are going off to join ISIS or Al Shabaab. Speaking of Al Shabaab, not only are they wreaking havoc in Somalia, but in Kenya as well, as they make cross-border raids to kill as many Christians as they can.

Meanwhile, come May 4-7, at UC Irvine, the Muslim Student Union and their brothers and sisters in Students for Justice in Palestine are reacting to all this by .....drum roll please.......

No word yet on the scheduled speakers. I'm crossing my fingers fan favorite Amir Abdel Malik Ali will be back for the umpteenth time to tell us who all the "Zionist Jews" are. Maybe the hot headed son of some Israel general, Miko Peled will be back so I can videotape him again. That really pisses him off. Maybe UC Berkeley "professor" Hatem Bazian will be there with his exciting power point presentation full of maps of the region. Or perhaps, noted brain surgeon Cynthia McKinney will show some videos-if she can figure out how to work the machine. How about Malcolm X groupie, Sohail Daulatzai? Hell, he's right on the UCI campus. If he speaks, maybe he'll wear those professorial-looking red tennis shoes with the orange shoelaces like he did last time he spoke. Or was it the other way around? And how about Norman Finkelstein, the new pride of Turkish academia? I hear he was recently in the US. Maybe he can stop by for some more punishment. Won't it all be wonderful?



No doubt the MSU/SJP will once again try to keep me and others from exercising our First Amendment rights to videotape.  (The lawyers are standing by.)

The Armenian Genocide 100 Years Later

April 24th will mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide in Turkey during World War 1. (Turkey has always denied that there was a genocide.) In response, the newly-created US Council of Muslim Organizations, an umbrella group for several Muslim Brotherhood-linked organizations in the US, has come out with a strangely-worded press release arguing against any commemoration because essentially, it would offend our ally, Turkey.

The statement is not only strange, but weak. Historians and researchers have been investigating this case for a century. Turkey argues that Armenians were perceived as a 5th column sympathetic to Russia during the war and relocated them. They conceded that many died, but deny any organized genocide. There was a British diplomat stationed in Turkey in 1915 who traveled to the area where the events occurred and made the charge at the time that it was an organized killing.

I also take issue with the salute thrown out to Turkey. Under Recep Tayyip Erdogan, this country has drifted toward the Islamist camp and has not acted very admirably in the Syrian crisis.

I have no doubt that had Muslims been the victims of what transpired in 1915, this umbrella group would be singing a different tune. It would also be nice if they issued a statement of concern for the Christian genocide taking place right now in the Middle East.

CAIR's Southern California director, Hussam Ayloush will have to once again revise his estimate of "20" Americans who have joined ISIS. An Alabama woman, only two years out of high school, has run off to join the terror group. Her family is represented by CAIR's Tampa, Florida director, Hassan Shibley. He says the family is decimated by this development.



As for Hoda (lnu), Creeping Sharia has a report that identifies her. Her full name is Hoda Muthana (20). Mote than joining ISIS, Muthana has reportedly tweeted messages calling for the assassination of President Obama and attacks against Americans during patriotic parades.

Ironically, Shibley is a questionable figure to speak on this issue. While he presents himself as a moderate, others are critical of him and his past statements. Here is today's report, which includes a recent interview of Shibley by Fox's Megyn Kelly.

More to the point, the Investigative Project on Terrorism has an unflattering portrait of Shibley including a report of Shibley supporting the US-State Dept.-designated terror group Hizbollah and reportedly expressing a desire as a college student to go  to Lebanon when they were fighting Israel  (driving ambulances and distributing and medicine).

Hizbollah is widely viewed as being behind the bombing of the US Marine barracks in Lebanon in 1983 that killed over 200 Marines and French soldiers although they (Hizbollah) did not announce their founding until 1985. 

This news comes immediately after the arrest of 6 Somalis attempting to leave the country to join ISIS. So now we await the next such report.

Valdosta State Holds Flag Protest

I disagree with black students disrespecting the flag and turning it into the centerpiece of a "Black Lives Matter" and "White Privilege debate on campus. If disrespecting the flag is going to be a tactic, they will not get much support here in 21st century America. Maybe these students should talk to some of the black members and veterans of our military for a little guidance.
