ABC's George Stephanopoulos is an embarrassment to the field of journalism. He is hardly alone, but this week he has been revealed to be on a level with discredited NBC anchor Brian Williams. No sooner was it dragged out of Stephanopoulos that he had contributed $50,000 to the Clinton Foundation, than it is revealed that the sum is actually $75,000. Of course, George gave a lame excuse that he had assumed everybody knew he had given because all contributions are listed on the Clinton Foundation website.
And everybody checks that website on a regular basis, you know.
George has also said in his "apology" that "in retrospect" he should have gone beyond ABC's guidelines. Really? What guidelines.
What makes this omission particularly egregious is Stephanopulos' recent interview with Clinton Cash author Peter Schweizer, in which George attacked the author's findings about the financial activities of the Foundation coupled with Hillary's decisions at DOS and Bill's lucrative speaking fees from those seeking favorable treatment from State. He also attacked the author for being a political conservative. Not objective, you know. This from the ex-Clinton White House press spokesman. Of course, George never mentioned his contributions to the Clinton Foundation while pummeling Schweizer.
And what does ABC say about all this? They are standing by their man 100%. So much for ABC's guidelines.
Oh, in the interest of full disclosure, I am presently reading Schweizer's book, and I heartily recommend it.

Not to mention that while Little George was blasting Schweizer for, among other things, being essentially a partisan political operative, he also failed to disclose that he himself was communications director for Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, prior to accepting the WH job in Clinton's first term.
I would call that partisan politics, wouldn't you??
