Karen Bass on How to Solve the Student Loan "Problem"
Hat tip Campus Reform
Congresswoman Karen Bass (D-CA) was a big part of the problem in California when she was in state government in Sacramento (Speaker of the Assembly). Now she is in Washington screwing the other 49 states. In the below video, she is interviewed by a Campus Reform reporter and gives her solution to the student loan problem. (Is it a problem?) Solution: Have the banks pay off the debts.

I had student loans (yes, I actually graduated from college, seems like back in the late 19th century , with a BS) for three years which were paid back in their entirety, with interest and ahead of time. If we are to have a bailout, how about "forgiving" my loans and returning interest, principal, and interest on that principal for all those years, to me. Seems to be the only "fair" thing to do.
And speaking of "fair" (maybe a little off topic but I can't find anywhere else to comment on it and i want to squeeze it in), Ms. Bass undoubtedly believes, and most likely has spoken relative to (although I admittedly have not actually heard her), how unfair it is that the rich" do not pay their "fair share" of income taxes.
In that regard, I would note that based on (I believe) their 2011/2012 tax returns, the Obamas certainly qualify as among "the rich" by any lib/Dem standard/definition that I know of. However, while their AGI for 2012 was about 1000 per cent that of mine, their effective marginal tax rate was only about 120 per cent of the rate at which I paid.
How is that "fair", particularly given Obama's frequent concentration on this issue and his definition of "fair share"?? Just more lib/Dem/progressive hypocrisy stacked on top of class/race warfare stacked on top of unfairness.
Nothing new about it, but at any given time, some 50 per cent (or even more) of the "adult" (if you want to call them that) population are such mopes/doofuses that they buy into this dishonesty hook, line, and sinker.
